★ To the surprise of … well, no one really, a new book claims that Kim Kardashian deliberately leaked the infamous sex tape that made her a household name. In his new tell-all titled “Kardashian Dynasty”, Canadian journalist Ian Halperin claims that Kim had actually signed a contract with Vivid Entertainment to leak the R-rated video she made with singer Ray-J in 2003. The now 35-year-old reality star was not the only one who allegedly had a hand in the release of the video as it’s claimed that Kim’s 65-year-old ‘momager’ Kris Jenner was also part of the scheme. A rep for Kim has denied the accusations saying, “All the assertions are false.”

★ Singers Demi Lovato and Ellie Goulding, and Oscar-winner Alicia Vikander have been honored with “Victoria’s Secret 2016 What Is Sexy?” awards. Model Adriana Lima has been presenting the prizes in recent days and now the lingerie company has released their full list of sexiest women. Lovato has been named ‘Sexiest Songstress’, Goulding credited with ‘Sexiest Lips’, and “The Danish Girl” star Vikander is ‘Sexiest International Import’. Other winners include Keke Palmer (‘Sexiest Breakout Star’), Kerry Washington (‘Sexiest Actress’), Sofia Vergara (‘Sexiest Mogul’), Kylie Jenner (‘Sexiest Risk-Taker’), and Olivia Munn (‘Sexiest Hair’).

★ BBC America says it has green-lit an “Orphan Black” analysis program called “After the Black”. The after-show is debuting on the cable network April 14th following the show’s Season 4 premiere. Led by hosts Ajay Fry, Morgan Hoffman, and Teddy Wilson, “After the Black” is a 30-minute, in-depth, lively discussion with cast, crew, and special guests about plot hints and twists, theories on future episodes, and special segments including behind-the-scenes footage from the set. The Canadian sci-fi series stars Tatiana Maslany as various different characters who are clones.

★ And there’s going to be an unofficial “Gilmore Girls” cookbook. Anyone who knows and loves “Gilmore Girls” (set to make a Netflix comeback) knows that food is important to the show as ‘Lorelai’ and ‘Rory’ take their eating very seriously. And now, thanks to a brilliant idea from fan Kristi Carlson, there’s a “Gilmore Girls”-themed recipe book, titled “Eat Like a Gilmore”. It has  already surpassed its Kickstarter campaign goal of raising $20,000. You can pre-order a copy for $30 that will be delivered in December; or a PDF version for $16 to be delivered in November.

COMMON JOB APPLICATION MISTAKES YOU MIGHT BE MAKING:
• Ignoring precise instructions. You should follow application instructions to a T … even if they seem persnickety.
• Skipping the weird questions. Bizarre questions are becoming more common, sometimes to weed out those who don’t follow directions.
• Your tenses time travel. Spell Check might save you from an embarrassing typo, but it won’t do anything to fix your sloppy grammar. Switching tenses is one of the easiest goofs to make.
• Mentioning salary requirements when not asked.. Stating how much you’d like to make in a cover letter, résumé, or application is a huge faux pas.
• Forgetting it’s 2016. Some résumé and cover letter conventions come across as outdated, like using the salutation ‘Dear Sir or Madam’ or stating ‘references will be provided upon request’.
• Passing on writing a cover letter. If you really want to work for the employer, take the time to write a customized cover letter explaining why they should consider you for the job.
• Skipping info because it’s already in your uploaded résumé. Take the time to copy and paste it into the application fields which are often used to create a database.

Can standing desks stand up to their critics? Standing desks have become trendy, but a new report suggests they aren’t necessarily the cure-all to the problems surrounding too much sitting by office-workers. New analysis by the Finnish Institute for Occupational Health even cites some adverse effects. A few facts …
• To help reverse the ill effects of sitting, one would need to stand at least 2-to-4 hours a day.
• Most people with a ‘sit-stand desk’ sit more than they realize.
• There is actually very little difference in energy expenditure between sitting and standing.
• Standing all day can lead to an increase in back pain, varicose veins, and/or fatigue at the end of the day.
Rather than a standing desk, most people surveyed say they find it better to set a timer to remind them to stand up, get a glass of water, and take a walk around the office.

“Batman v Superman” has set box office records for both superheroes. With $170.1 million, the movie enjoyed the all-time biggest domestic debut for both the ‘Dark Knight’ and the ‘Man of Steel’. The total easily beats the $116.6 million record debut for ‘Superman’ movies held by 2013’s “Man of Steel”. It also just surpasses the $160.9 million ‘Batman’ debut record held by 2012’s “The Dark Knight Rises”, as well as the $158.4 million debut of 2008’s “The Dark Knight”.
