100% Grade A Bull!

BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ “No Time To Die” will be the last ‘James Bond’ movie starring Daniel Craig, and there has been speculation about who will replace him for years. One name that has often come up is Tom Hardy, best known for his roles in “Mad Max Fury Road”, “Venom”, and for his Oscar-nominated performance in “The Revenant”. Hardy’s name has come up again in a fresh rumor, with “The Vulcan Reporter” claiming that Hardy was offered the part in June after an audition. Producers planned to announce Hardy as the next Bond in November, but that is now the same month that No Time To Die hits theaters. So, Hardy will allegedly be named the new Bond in 2021, according to the site. No Time To Die was initially supposed to come out in April, but was delayed due to COVID-19.

★ Ryan Reynolds poked fun at his friend and fellow actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson over his latest feat of Instagram strength. Johnson posted a photo of his driveway gate ripped off its hinges and cast aside, explaining that he did this with his “bare hands” because the gate would not function due to a power shortage and “a man’s gotta go to work”. Reynolds’ cheeky response? “The gate opened the OTHER way.” The two co-starred in last year’s “Hobbs & Shaw”.

★ Eddie Murphy’s career has come full circle: Almost 40 years after his first Emmy nomination, for “Saturday Night Live”, he won his first Emmy, for… Saturday Night Live. He took the award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series at Saturday’s Creative Arts Emmys ceremony for his long-awaited return to Studio 8H in December. The episode marked Murphy’s first SNL hosting gig in 35 years, and one of his few return appearances to the show that made him a star. He brought back some of his most memorable SNL characters on the episode, including ‘Buckwheat’, ‘Mister Robinson’ and ‘Gumby’.

★ The creators of “This Is Spinal Tap,” including stars Michael McKean, Christopher Guest and Harry Shearer…as well as director Rob Reiner, have settled a lawsuit with StudioCanal and its French parent company Vivendi on fraud accusations that the companies withheld money from the stars. The group also settled with Universal Music Group over revenue from the film’s soundtrack.

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Billie Eilish — called out those who are not social distancing in an Instagram Story on Thursday. She used a distorted filter that made her mouth large and commented on those who are partying amid the global pandemic, saying: “Funny how I haven’t hugged my best friends in six months, and y’all are out here partying. Funny.”
• Machine Gun Kelly — his new album “Tickets to My Downfall” will be out on Friday, but he says he accidentally signed 13,000 copies with the wrong artwork. After putting his signature to the early copies, he was forced to change the original artwork because it featured a drawing copied from a photo that his label didn’t own the rights to.
• Mariah Carey – The “Fame” superfan released a stunning cover of ‘Out Here on My Own’ from the musical Friday. Carey said she got the track “from the depths of the vault,” after releasing a sneak peek of her upcoming memoir “The Meaning of Mariah Carey”, set for release September 29.
• Prince – His estate has released the previously unheard recording ‘I Need A Man’, which will be featured on the expanded reissue of his iconic “Sign O’ The Times” album, out September 25. The song was recorded at the Washington Avenue Warehouse on January 22, 1987.
• Aimée Osbourne — The eldest daughter of Ozzy and Sharon has announced her debut album “Vacare Adamare” will be released Oct. 30, under the banner “ARO”. The album title is Latin for “to be free and loved.” ARO will play a show on September 26, livestreamed from Los Angeles’s Hotel Cafe.
• Neil Young — Despite being stuck at home, he has had a busy year between his Fireside Sessions and prepping a lawsuit against Donald Trump. He’s also been curating three new archival releases, including the long-awaited Archives Volume 2: 1972-1976. It will drop Nov. 20, and feature 12 songs that have never been released in any format, plus 50 previously unreleased versions of songs.
• Chris Cornell — In honor of his daughter Toni’s 16th birthday, his estate has released the original version of ‘Only These Words’ — a song from 2015’s “Higher Truth.” The clip, which was posted on his official Instagram account, shows family images of the two together.
• Twisted Sister — Dee Snider took to social media to condemn anti-maskers who went into a Florida Target store blaring the group’s hit ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’ while ripping off their masks. He said the group doesn’t have his “permission or blessing to use my song for their moronic cause.”
• Kane Brown — is selling his house outside of Nashville that he once rented to Jason Aldean. Brown and his wife, Katelyn, have listed the elegant 4-bedroom, 4,500-square-foot home in an exclusive neighborhood in Franklin, TN, for $910,000.
• Maddie & Tae — will release a new holiday EP “We Need Christmas” on Oct. 23. The six-song project includes the two originals ‘Merry Married Christmas’ and the title cut, as well as four holiday standards: ‘This Christmas’, ‘Holly Jolly Christmas’, ‘Come All Ye Faithful’ and ‘Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)’.

MEAT YOUR HEART OUT:
It would be a dream job for many of us. In honor of National Cheeseburger Day on Friday, casino review portal “BonusFinder” announced that it will pay someone $500 to be a “professional cheeseburger tester”. The person selected will be expected to travel throughout the US and find the best cheeseburger in the land. Bonusfinder is asking those interested to enter by providing a written description of why they’d be the ultimate “Cheeseburger Tester.” Entrants must be 21 years old and a resident of the United States or Canada. The winning taste tester will judge cheeseburgers on merits such as patty texture, patty seasoning, bun softness and taste, relish and sauce taste, cheese flavor and creaminess, quality of ingredients and value for the money. Oh, and one warning: Bonusfinder points out that: “If you’re on a diet, this job might not be the one for you.” The contest closes on Monday, and a winner will be announced on Oct. 8.
(It’s funny because whether he knows it or not, MY boss pays me $500 a week to do the exact same thing!)
(That’s according to an anonymous sauce!)

LOSING A FEW POUNDS:
It would seem there’s a small mystery unravelling in the UK. A significant amount of cash has gone missing in England…to the tune of £50 billion (US $64.7 billion). That’s correct, the equivalent of more than £1,000 for each adult in the country has disappeared from circulation, according to the spending watchdog. In a report, the UK’s National Audit Office says that demand for bank notes has increased continuously over the past two decades despite the use of cash falling by half since 2010. Experts are said to be “baffled” as to why demand is increasing, and where all the missing money has gone. While some of the cash may be stashed overseas, stuffed under mattresses or stocked up for use in the underground economy, there is little data to identify how much is held where. The report suggests that the five public bodies who oversee the cash system in the country — the Treasury, Bank of England, Royal Mint, the Financial Conduct Authority and Payments Systems Regulator — need to take a more coordinated approach to ensure it works well for the consumer.
(Has anyone checked under the couch cushions?)
(You know how some people say there’s no such thing as “too much money”? THAT’S too much money!)
(Maybe the Tooth Fairy?)

WONDERDOG:
Anyone who has an emotional support animal will tell you what a wonderful addition they are to someone’s life. So why not make them available to…dogs? That’s exactly what has happened for Arnold the 2-year-old Weimaraner. When Arnold was a puppy, he had a bad experience with a much larger dog. As a result, he grew to be ever more skittish and scared, especially around large and loud dogs. Then along came pint-sized Frank, a friendly miniature dachshund. After Arnold’s owner adopted the puppy, the tiny pooch took on the role of emotional support dog. Yes, Frank the wiener dog has taken on the role canines — and peacocks, cats, opossums and miniature horses — typically fulfill for humans. The much smaller, but self-assured Frank has helped Arnold conquer his crippling anxiety. But Frank the wiener dog also benefits from being with Arnold, who is a year older and 66 pounds heavier. His owner swears Frank thinks Arnold is his dad.
(And I can’t even get MY dog to share the couch…)
(I think in 2020, we ALL need an emotional support dog. That or emotional support vodka!)

EVERYTHING NICE ABOUT PUMPKIN SPICE:
With fall officially arriving this morning, for some it’s the most wonderful time of the year: Pumpkin Spice season. And if you are one of those people who want pumpkin spice in everything from your Oreos to your…pumpkin spice…here is some good news: The spices that are mixed together to make pumpkin spice each have their own health benefits. That’s right: Pumpkin spice is actually pretty good for you. The flavor is generally made up of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, and allspice. Cinnamon is thought to help control blood sugar levels, nutmeg has been used to treat many afflictions including cancer and kidney disease, but more research is needed. Ginger seems to be an effective treatment for nausea and morning sickness. Cloves are used to treat toothaches, and allspice is good for things like intestinal gas, diarrhea, flu and colds. And let’s not forget pumpkin. While it isn’t actually an ingredient in ALL pumpkin spice products, if it is used, you’re in luck. Pumpkin is high in vitamin A, which is good for your eyes, skin, and fighting infections.
(Wait! What about whipped cream? Tell me something good about whipped cream!)
(Now there’s a dietary supplement that I can get into!)
(I used to love that stuff until that unfortunate overdose incident a few years ago…)

DID YOU KNOW?
In case you’ve forgotten how weird 2020 has been, they’ve now officially run out of names for this year’s hurricane season. Three storm systems were named in the Atlantic on Friday, using the last name on the National Hurricane Center’s list for 2020 — and forcing the agency to start using names from the Greek alphabet. Tropical Storm Wilfred was named late Friday morning, and that was the last name on this year’s list of 21 Atlantic hurricane names — only the second time that all the names were used. The hurricane center does not use the letters Q, U, X, Y and Z because there aren’t enough names to fill those letters.

TODAY’S SLICE OF BS:
➠ The Coachella Music Festival is not happening this year. Before the pandemic struck, planners considered making the event 5-weeks long. (Which means hipsters would spend 5 weekends a year attending, and 47 weekends complaining that they don’t have any money.)
➠ Jimmy Kimmel hosted the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday night. (I’m surprised they didn’t go with a comedian!)
➠ Joan Jett is 62 today. (These days she still loves Rock n’ Roll, but she’d prefer a Rock ‘n Chair…)
➠ The Academy of Country Music Awards show was held last week. (And sadly, with the ACMs over, there are only 42 more country music awards shows left this year…)
➠ It’s now officially the Fall Season. (“Fall” is also referred to as “Autumn”.  And “Autumn” is also referred to as the reason I sometimes come home with glitter all over my body…)
