Another Sheetload of Bull!
BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Kim Kardashian is moving from the small screen to the big one. The “Kardashians” star will produce and star in an upcoming female-driven comedy titled “The 5th Wheel.” Kardashian reportedly has been hands-on in the pitching for the film and even has attended each meeting to deliver her pitch. Although she has plenty of experience as a reality star, Kardashian has been spreading her wings into the scripted world. She recently starred in the “Delicate” season of “American Horror Story,” a role that earned her both praise and criticism from viewers.

★ Suki Waterhouse and Robert Pattinson are going to be parents. After months of speculation, the “Daisy Jones & the Six” star confirmed that she’s expecting her first baby during her set at the Corona Capital Festival in Mexico City. She gestured toward her stomach and told the crowd: “I decided to wear something particularly sparkly today ’cause I thought it might distract you from something else that’s going on”, then added jokingly: “I’m not sure if it’s working.” She first sparked pregnancy rumors in October during a rare appearance with the “Twilight” star at the GO Awards in Los Angeles.

★ “The Crown” jewels are going on sale. Left Bank Pictures will auction off nearly 450 props and costumes from the Netflix series, using the profits to fund a National Film and Television School scholarship for the next 20 years. Memorabilia up for grabs includes Princess Diana’s “revenge dress,” as worn by Elizabeth Debicki in Season 5. Auction house Bonhams will launch the sale on February 7, with 150 lots up for grabs. A further 300 items will be sold online on February 8. It is estimated the sale could raise at $1.2 million.

★ “Star Wars” fans will truly feel “a disturbance in the force” when a documentary about the infamous 1978 “Star Wars Holiday Special” is released. Having premiered in March at the SXSW Film Festival, “A Disturbance in the Force” will be released on digital and Blu-ray Dec. 5. It will also play in select US theaters. Set between the events of the original Star Wars and sequel “The Empire Strikes Back”, the Star Wars Holiday Special revolved around ‘Chewbacca’ and’ Han Solo’s’ attempt to travel to the Wookiee home planet of Kashyyk in time for a Life Day celebration. Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and James Earl Jones reprised their big-screen roles for the CBS special.

★ A dark wool shirt jacket and a pair of jeans the late Matthew Perry wore on “Friends” is selling for $8,400 on eBay. The listing, which went up in Aug., but was updated the day after Perry’s Oct. 28 death, says: “Chandler Bing donned the ensemble in the Season 1 episode The One With the Candy Hearts as he tried to break up with his on-again, off-again girlfriend Janice. BS MUSIC NOTES:
• BLACKPINK — Rosé appeared Friday at a mental health awareness event hosted by US first lady Jill Biden. She told the crowd at the Apple Park campus in Cupertino CA that it’s important for the world to understand that famous people grapple with emotional struggles, too. She also said that having a large social media following makes her feel vulnerable, particularly when people are critical.
• Kanye West – The rapper, who has been laying low since sabotaging his career with a series of antisemitic comments on social media, has returned with a new song – full of controversial lyrics. ‘Vultures’ features Ty Dolla Sign and Lil Durk, and contains the line: ““How am I antisemitic? I just (***bleeped***) a Jewish (***bleep***).
• Buckcherry – has dropped the all-new holiday song ‘Tell ‘Em It’s Christmas’. The band released its first festive tune ‘Christmas Is Here’ in 2010. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/y92h996z
• Phil Collins – $4 million worth of his possessions are being sold at auction – by his former wife. Orianne Cevey, who divorced Collins in 2006, says she is “downsizing” so she must part with “prized family possessions” such as his $100,000 Yamaha piano, Wurlitzer jukebox, jewellery, and other items.
• Rolling Stones — Rumored dates for a 2024 North American tour have been published by Stones fan forum https://iorr.org/tour24/ . It must be stressed that these are just rumors, but it lists dates starting in April in Houston, going through to mid-July in San Francisco. Last week, the group released a remix of ‘Mess It Up’ by German DJ Purple Disco Machine. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/ye2ya6ue
• Slash and Chester Bennington — The full demo of a never-before-heard collab song between the 2 has been released. ‘Crazy’ was revealed exclusively on the Guns N’ Roses-themed podcast “Appetite for Distortion”. The song was meant to be included in Slash’s debut solo album, but was never completed. LINK: (song is at 1:11:11) https://tinyurl.com/uubdceyu
• Jimmie Allen – His attorneys have filed a motion in court to withdraw as his counsel in his divorce case, claiming they’ve “lost communication” with their client. They believe Allen and his estranged wife Alexis Gale are trying to reconcile. The pair separated in April, after he was accused of sexual assault by 2 women.
• HARDY — You can watch his last show of the year from the comfort of your home. His sold-out home state concert on Dec. 9 at Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi will be streamed by Veeps. It is free for subscribers, $20 for nonsubscribers. Details at www.Veeps.com. Lainey Wilson will open the show.
• Kelsea Ballerini – told fans in an Instagram Q&A that she was originally featured on Jonas Brothers’ collab ‘Strong Enough’, but she “did indeed get replaced” by Bailey Zimmerman. She seems to be OK with it, though, commenting that Zimmerman did a “sick” job.
SHOOTING THE BULL
NEW DEVELOPMENTS:
⇒ The flying car that you can park in your garage has lifted off on its maiden flight. The Samson Switchblade, a street-legal car that has been approved by the FAA, was taken by a pilot on a 6-minute flight. The Switchblade requires an airport runway to take off. It uses unleaded gasoline rather than airplane fuel and needs 3 minutes to switch from driving to flying mode. Then it can be flown to the airport nearest your destination at up to 200mph. Once landed, it folds in its wings and tail and is small enough to be parked in a normal garage. The 2-seater already has 2,300 reservations from 57 countries and all 50 states in the US, and the news of the successful maiden flight will likely see that grow. (Did ya hear that, Elon? A test flight can actually happen without the thing blowing up!)
⇒ Amusement Park operator Six Flags has unveiled plans for the world’s tallest and fastest rollercoaster. According to its creator, the Falcon’s Flight will boast a heart-stopping maximum drop of 640 feet, while the 14-passenger train will be able to achieve speeds of up to 156 mph (250kph). The skyscraper-sized coaster, to be built at Six Flags Saudi Arabia, will not only be the fastest in the world, it will be about 150 feet higher than the current record-holder, and with a 2.48-mile-long track, it will also be about a mile longer than the current world record holder. (Doesn’t matter how long it is. I’d be dead before it climbs the first hill!) LINK: https://tinyurl.com/376pvkrr

“LYING” DOWN ON THE JOB:
Sometimes, you just HAVE to tell a little white lie. And that’s definitely the case if you want to land that dream job, according to a professional recruiting manager. Bonnie Dilber, of Seattle, uploaded a video to her 1.1million TikTok viewers, where she covered her practices for landing a gig. In it, she advises followers to “save these choicest tall tales to tell”, and to “prepare your lies before every interview.” She says these are the 3 lies you must be willing to tell:
• “Do not tell them that your boss doesn’t like you. Don’t tell them that everyone is really hard to work with. All they’re going to hear is that you are difficult. Instead…say something like, ‘Things are going great, but I want to take on bigger challenges.’”
• When they ask why you want the job, don’t say you need a paycheck and benefits. That’s not unique. Instead, “Tell them why you are passionate about the company’s mission, why this job is your life’s work and why you are just such a good fit for the culture of this company.”
• And finally, when asked about your plans for the future, Dilber says you need to lie through your teeth. “I don’t care if…you are going to jump ship as soon as you find something better. When they ask you about your plans for the next 5 years, your plans are to be at the company, you’re plans are to come in, knock it out of the park on this role and continue to grow as opportunities arise.” LINK: https://tinyurl.com/jfz7x8km
(Why NOT lie in a job interview? God knows my resume is full of ‘em!!)
(So, what she’s saying is: If you want the job, the truth is you must lie!)

ANOTHER REASON FOR NATURE TO ABHOR A VACUUM:
Yes, technology can definitely make life easier. Robots, for example, can make daily chores much simpler than cleaning the house by hand. BUT, a new study has found they can also make things much simpler for hackers. A team of researchers from the University of Maryland says that robot vacuum cleaners can actually be remotely reprogrammed to record sound waves, even though they don’t have a microphone. The team discovered that the robot’s laser navigation signals can be converted into sound waves. With the help of signal processing software and machine learning systems, computers can accurately pick out speech and musical patterns from TV shows that the vacuum is eavesdropping on. A spokesperson said: “Even though these devices don’t have microphones, we can repurpose the systems they use for navigation to spy on conversations and potentially reveal private information.”
(Still worth it…)
(What kind of sorcery is this? I mean, really, who can hear ANYTHING over the sound of a vacuum?)

CELEBRITY MIDDLE NAMES:
(Just because they usually aren’t what we were expecting…)
❑ Timothée Hal Chalamet: It’s always handy when your middle name also appears in your last name…
❑ Ryan Rodney Reynolds: He once tweeted that his middle name “sucks”. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/36377wtw
❑ Kate Garry Hudson: Named after her uncle, who died shortly before her birth.
❑ Elton Hercules John: Yes, he chose this as his stage name. But ‘Hercules’ came from the name of a horse in a British sitcom – not the Roman god.
❑ Tina Stamatina Fey: Her first name is actually Elizabeth, and her middle name inspired her to go by “Tina”.
❑ Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O’Connell: Her 4-year-old brother Finneas kept calling the unborn Billie “Pirate” – so much so that her mom almost gave her that as her first name!
❑ Richard Tiffany Gere: Tiffany was his mother’s maiden name.
❑ James Kimberly Corden: Apparently, giving males the middle name Kimberly is a tradition in his family.
❑ Ralph Nathaniel Twisleton Wykeham Fiennes: We have no explanation. Nor do we for the fact that you don’t pronounce the second half of his first name…
❑ Adele Laurie Blue Adkins: Blue almost became her first name.
❑ Hugh John Mungo Grant: Don’t know why he was named Mungo, but it sounds awesome!

DID YOU KNOW?
With Americans set to consume an average of 3,000 calories at Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, one must wonder: Can an overly-full stomach actually explode? Yes, but it is unlikely, say the experts. The phenomenon of a stomach bursting is extremely rare, gastroenterologist Dr. Balzora wrote in the Washington Post, thanks to the stomach’s “thick muscle walls and a rich blood supply”. The medical term for a person’s stomach exploding is a “gastrointestinal perforation”. And a third helping of pumpkin pie isn’t likely to make it happen. More likely causes include ingesting harmful substances like corrosive chemicals or sharp objects, a clogged colon, a gunshot wound, or a complication during a medical procedure. (Challenge accepted!)
