Bully For You!
BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
More than 30 concerned parents of tots at the First Presbyterian Nursery School in Santa Monica CA have filed complaints asking authorities to do something about paparazzi constantly hanging around school gates (thanks to 3-year-old enrollee Violet, daughter of Ben Affleck & Jennifer Garner) . . . Hugh Hefner’s 23-year-old ex-girlfriend Kendra Wilkinson (“The Girls Next Door”) has announced she’s expecting her first child with her 26-year-old NFL player-fiancé Hank Baskett (Philadelphia Eagles), just as they’re set to wed June 27th at the Playboy Mansion (apparently Hank scored in the off-season too) . . . “Vogue” editor-turned-wedding gown designer Vera Wang has reportedly signed on for the 9th installment of “Dancing With the Stars” (ABC) which will debut in September (she’ll be a sprightly 60 when the new season kicks off) . . . Former heavyweight champ Mike Tyson, whose 4-year-old daughter Exodus died after a freak accident last month, has wed his girlfriend Lakiha Spicer in Las Vegas just 30 minutes after securing a marriage license (uh, his late daughter’s name was ‘Exodus’?) . . . Twitter.com is responding to complaints from celebs about imposters using their names on Twitter accounts by introducing a new ‘Verified Accounts’ program that authenticates Twitter feeds from famous folk (no more guessing if they’re tricks or tweets) . . . 34-year-old actor Leonardo DiCaprio has reportedly split with 24-year-old Israeli-born model Bar Refaeli, his on-and-off girlfriend since 2005, because she wanted to move in with him (dude, you’re like one bad movie away from never being able to date a supermodel again!) . . . And 10-year-old “Slumdog Millionaire” actor Azharuddin Ismail says he’s ecstatic about leaving Mumbai’s slums behind and moving into his new home, a hifalutin single-room hut worth all of – $7,820 (happiness is all relative).

COMING ATTRACTIONS:
A BS selection of movies in the making …
• “The A-Team” – 57-year-old Liam Neeson is in talks to star in the bigscreen version of the classic TV show, playing ‘Hannibal Smith’, the role made famous by the late George Peppard. It’s also reported that Bradley Cooper (“The Hangover”) is in talks to play ‘Faceman Peck’. The other 2 major parts of ‘Howling Mad Murdock’ and ‘BA’ have yet to be cast although rapper Common is rumored to be favored for the former Mr T role. Production is due to begin in August for a June 2010 release.
• “The Back-Up Plan” – Jennifer Lopez says getting back to acting after an extended maternity break has been made easier by … bringing her twins to work with her. Year-and-a-half-old Max & Emme have become regulars on the set during the shoot. Fittingly, Lopez plays a woman who conceives twins through artificial insemination, only to meet the man of her dreams on the very same day. The romantic comedy is expected in theaters next January.
• “Full House: The Movie” – Actor John Stamos, who played ‘Uncle Jesse’ on the 1987-95 TV sitcom is working on turning the show into a feature film. None of the original cast (Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen, Bob Saget, Dave Coulier, Jodie Sweetin) is expected to participate. The idea would be the recreate the first few years of the series with a new cast. Stamos thinks Steve Carell would make a good ‘Danny Tanner’ (Bob Saget’s character).
• “Priest” – Brit actor Paul Bettany (“The Da Vinci Code”) stars as a priest who disobeys church law to track down the vampires who kidnapped his niece. “Twilight” actor Cam Gigandet (‘James’) will again sink his teeth into a vampire role, this time playing a night-roaming sheriff. The horror thriller about the battle between humans and vampires is due in theaters next year.
• “Spider-Man 4” – Director Sam Raimi has finally persuaded 26-year-old Kirsten Dunst to return to the role of ‘Mary Jane Watson’. She’ll join Tobey Maguire, who’s already agreed to reprise his ‘Spidey’ character in both the 4th and 5th films. Now there’s just one more challenge … finding the perfect villain. The movie is slated for a 2011 release.
BULL’S INTERNATIONAL MOOS:
• Politics in Taiwan has always been rough but this is downright dirty! A man has been sentenced to 5 months in jail for tearing a wig off Nationalist Party legislator Chiu Yi. The Taipei District Court levied the stiff sentence on 50-year-old Huang Yung-tien for depriving Chiu of the ‘freedom to be pretty’. Yep, your read that right. (They should have fined him … then he’d have to decide toupée or not toupée.)

• Karina Oakley of Guildford, England has an IQ of 160 – the same as famed physics professor Stephen Hawking and Microsoft founder Bill Gates. But Karina spends much of her day playing with dolls and drawing pictures because … she’s only 2. Her mother says her little girl is very observant, talks all the time, and – like any 2-year-old – asks a lot of questions. (“Oh mother dear, do tell why the sky appears azure when in fact the atmosphere is colorless?”)

• Scientists in Japan are baffled over a spate of unusual weather … it’s been raining tadpoles!
Amphibious downpours have been reported in a number of cities since the beginning of June. In one bizarre incident, a man who heard a strange thumping sound discovered more than 100 dead tadpoles on car windshields in a parking lot. The raining down of small creatures is a rare meteorological occurrence that’s variously been attributed to strong winds, storms, and/or water spouts sucking them up and depositing them inland. But this time, none of these seems to be a factor. (“And now the AccuWeather forecast … mainly froggy this morning with a …”)

MILLIONTH WORD:
A US web monitoring firm has declared the one-millionth English word to be ‘Web 2.0′, a term for the latest generation of web products and services. Global Language Monitor searches the Internet for newly coined terms, and once a word or phrase has been used 25,000 times it recognizes it as being official. ‘Web 2.0′ beat out the terms ‘Jai ho’ (a Hindi language equivalent of ‘hallelujah’), ‘N00b’ (an inexperienced and/or ignorant person), and ‘slumdog’ (a slum dweller) to be declared the landmark word.

PET PAWTIES:
Get-togethers incolving people and their pets are becoming increasingly popular. At these affairs 10-to-20 pet owners get together, swap tales, have a little wine, and listen to a Pupperware ‘consultant’ try to sell them gourmet cat kibble, doggie couture, and parrot grooming products. The consultant gets a cut of the sales, the hostess usually gets a product discount, and everyone has a good time … except maybe for the pets forced to model their newly purchased clothing.

RENT-A-BUDDY:
Tokyo-based company ‘Office Agents’ rents out friends, work colleagues, and even relatives to pad out the guest list at weddings. A fake friend costs about $200, a song or dance routine another $50, and a heart-tugging speech from the fake will set you back an extra hundred. Newlyweds wanting to impress their in-laws with the volume of their friends are among those secretly padding guest lists with fakes. The recession has also boosted the popularity of the service; people who’ve recently lost their jobs but want to maintain an air of respectability are turning to the company for fake work-related guests.

I KNOW WHERE YOU ARE:
A new shoe outfitted with an embedded GPS chip will allow the location of the wearer to be monitored in real time online. It’s hoped the new gizmo will offer a way to keep track of the growing number of people with Alzheimer’s disease, who often wander off and can’t find their way back home. The tracking device is a collaboration between GTX Corp, a firm that specializes in miniaturized GPS, and footwear company Aetrex. It’s expected to retail for around $200-to-$300. Do they come in teenager versions?
