TODAY on “The View” (ABC/CTV), Rosie O’Donnell reveals that part of her regular therapy for depression involves hanging upside-down for a half-hour a day (now there’s a truly icky mental picture!) . . . SATURDAY at the “Canadian Radio Music Awards” in Toronto, City & Colour, Mobile, and Neverending White Lights are among the acts with multiple nominations, and Triumph will be inducted into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame . . . SATURDAY Beyoncé is the leading contender for the 21st “Soul Train Music Awards” in LA with 3 nominations, followed by Mary J Blige, Chris Brown, John Legend, Ne-Yo, Gnarls Barkley, and Yung Joc with 2 apiece (the taped show airs in national syndication the week of March 17-24th) . . . Oscar-winning “Dreamgirls” actress Jennifer Hudson has signed on with cosmetics giant Avon to front a worldwide campaign for a new perfume (‘Eau de Effie’?) . . . For more than a week now “Pirates of the Caribbean” star Johnny Depp & his partner Vanessa Paradis have been keeping a bedside vigil for 7-year-old daughter Lily-Rose, who’s said to be in serious condition from an undisclosed illness in a UK hospital . . . In Florida, the Broward County Medical Examiner has found the cause of Anna Nicole Smith’s death but refuses to reveal it until police complete their own investigation, which could take several more weeks (is there anyone attached to this story who isn’t into grandstanding?) . . . Actor Tim Daly will star in an upcoming 2-hour special episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” (ABC/CTV) that will launch a spinoff show centering on ‘Dr Addison Montgomery-Shepherd’ (so far the new series has no title, no location, and no general plot – just actress Kate Walsh) . . . “Lost” (ABC/CTV) cast members Naveen Andrews (‘Sayid Jarrah’) & Dominic Monaghan (‘Charlie Pace’) are complaining about lack of screen-time on the show’s 3rd season, whining that their getting paid for doing nothing (quit griping – if ratings keep tanking, you’ll be doing nothing and NOT get paid) . . .TV producer Mark Burnett is being sued for $2 million-plus by TV writer Sharlene Sullivan, who claims she gave him the idea for his reality show “Rock Star” back in 2002 but was told to abandon the idea and write an unrelated treatment regarding transvestites (huh?) . . . Former ‘James Bond’ actor Pierce Brosnan will co-star with Meryl Streep in the film adaptation of the stage musical “Mamma Mia”, based on the music of ABBA (can you imagine these two singing?) . . . Thanks to her racy online photos, sleazeball “Girls Gone Wild” producer Joe Francis is offering “American Idol” competitor Antonella Barba $250,000 to host an upcoming video (take it – there’s no money in singing off key!) . . . And the UK’s Channel 4 is planning a new reality series called “Dumped”, in which contestants will live for 3 weeks in a garbage dump, scavenging everything they eat, wear, shelter under, and use – from other people’s refuse (like there isn’t enough trash on TV!).

• Diana Ross – TONIGHT the 62-year-old inspiration for “Dreamgirls” appears on “Late Show With David Letterman” (CBS).

• Lily Allen – TOMORROW the Brit pop singer (“Smile”) is the musical guest on “Saturday Night Live” (NBC), hosted by actress Drew Barrymore (“Music and Lyrics”).
• Michael Jackson – TODAY in Tokyo, he’s scheduled to host a ‘fan art contest’ for those who couldn’t afford the 400,000-yen tickets to YESTERDAY’s ‘VIP Party’. The attendees are still being rung up for an entrance fee of about $130.
• Monica – TODAY she’s a guest on the “ Ellen DeGeneres Show” (syndicated/CityTV).
• Norah Jones – TONIGHT she performs on the “Tonight Show With Jay Leno” (NBC/A Channel).
• *NSYNC – Lance Bass is writing his autobiography to be called “Out of Sync”, which promises to delve into his life, his music and his sexuality. It’s due on shelves in OCTOBER.
• Snow Patrol – They’ve recorded the new song “Signal Fire” for the soundtrack of “Spider-Man 3” (opens MAY 4). Why not a tune called “Chasing Sandman”?

“300” ( R-Rated Period War Drama ): In 480 BC, Spartan king Leonidas leads 300 of his warriors into the Battle of Thermopylae against  well over 100,000 soldiers of the Persian army, who are bent on conquering Greece. The battle is said to have inspired all of Greece to band together against the Persians, and helped usher in the world’s first democracy. Based on Frank Miller’s graphic novel. Western Europe is the most expensive place in the world to live, according to the latest annual ‘Worldwide Cost of Living ‘survey. BS SLEEPING TIPS:
While returning to your youth is impossible, here are a few tips on how you may get closer to sleeping like a 6-year-old …
• Don’t take naps during the day.
• Get fresh air and exercise during the day. Exercise right before bed may keep you awake.
• Take a warm bath, read, or listen to quiet music in the evening.
• Limit your consumption of alcohol as it can keep you awake. Smoking cigarettes can also act as a stimulant that disturbs your sleep.
• Avoid coffee, tea or soft drinks in the evening. Drink warm milk or hot water before bed.
• Go to bed and get up at the same time every day.
• Keep your bedroom comfortable, cool and quiet.
• Get up and do something else if you have trouble sleeping. Then, go back to bed later.
(And one final tip – do NOT seek employment doing a morning radio show.)

New Zealand fishermen have caught what is expected to be a world-record Colossal Squid, the first adult of the species to ever be landed intact. Found deep in Antarctic waters, Colossal Squid are about the same length as Giant Squid but are much heavier. The mammoth creature is 10-meters-long (about 33 ft) and weighs 450 kg (990 lbs). Calamari rings made from it would be the size of tractor tires.
