Tomorrow’s Show Prep Today!

BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★Scott Baio feels terrible for ripping his co-star, Erin Moran for her drug use and says he never would have done it if he’d known she was battling cancer.  Baio says he was wrong to insinuate Erin had died from drug-related problems in an interview shortly after the news broke.  According to Baio, when we went to bed Sunday night, many reports said she’d possibly died of a heroin overdose. He says was upset he’d lost Erin to drugs after she wrestled with substance abuse for years.  However, hours later, officials in Indiana announced Erin had likely died from complications of stage 4 cancer. Scott says if he had known, he would’ve kept his mouth shut.

★How about this for a spoiler alert?  In a newly unearthed interview with Mark Hamill and the late Gene Siskel recorded after the release of ‘Return of Jedi’ in 1983, Hamill may have dropped clues about the future of his character, Luke Skywalker.  When asked if he would play Skywalker again, Hamill replied: “George (Lucas) has talked to me very marginally about doing something at the turn of the century in the last trilogy.  Siskel asked if that meant that Hamill might play a father to a Luke Jr. around the year 2000, and Hamill agreed that might be the case.  There has been much speculation that Rey (Daisy Ridley) is Luke’s daughter and that Luke himself may have turned to the dark side in this year’s eighth instalment, The Last Jedi. George Lucas always intended for there to be 9 films in the series.

★Kim Kardashian made waves as she was pictured enjoying a day at the beach during her girls’ trip to Mexico.  And now the reality star has revealed that her gal pals have fat shamed her.  The 36-year-old mother-of-two took to Twitter on Monday night to share several tweets documenting her raunchy holiday in Mexico, including her friends giving her a hard time about some of the food and drink she was enjoying. It didn’t seem to bother Kim one bit, however. After she gave an update on all the girls on the trip she wrote about herself: ‘Oh and as for me you ask? …I’m just sitting here on the beach with my flawless body.’

★Heather Morris received perfect scores Monday on Dancing With The Stars but was still eliminated from the ABC dancing competition show.  The former Glee star was in the bottom two with Olympics ice skater Nancy Kerrigan and her elimination was met by loud booing by the audience.  According to host Tom Bergeron: ‘In 24 seasons that is probably the most vocally unhappy reaction we’ve got about a result.’

★It was the biggest mistake in Oscars history.  Faye Dunaway finally broke her silence on the shocking moment at this year’s Academy Awards ceremony, when a disastrous mix-up with envelopes caused her to mistakenly proclaim ‘La La Land ‘as the Best Picture winner over ‘Moonlight’, which actually nabbed the top nod.  She says she mistook Warren Beatty’s confusion as a dramatic pause and then it all went downhill from there. ”
(Indeed.  But you can’t  blame her.  Blame the accountants.)

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Elton John –  is recovering after contracting a “harmful and unusual” bacterial infection during his recent tour in South America.  The 70-year-old singer became violently ill on his return flight from Santiago, Chile, and was immediately admitted to a UK hospital to undergo treatment. which was a success.  After spending two nights in intensive care followed by an extended stay in the hospital, Elton was released on Saturday. According to a statement, infections of this nature are ‘rare and potentially deadly’.  John’s April and May concert dates have been scrapped.
(Take me to the Pilot…wait.  Better not!)
• Rihanna and Nicki Minaj are featured on DJ Khaled’s forthcoming album ‘Grateful’.  The 41-year-old hip-hop star confirmed that the R&B superstar and ‘Anaconda’ rapper will both appear on the already star-studded record – which also features the new single ‘I’m The One’ a collaboration between Khaled, Lil Wayne, Justin Bieber, Quavo and Chance the Rapper.
• Katy Perry – has hinted that her next single is called ‘Bon Appétit’.  She shared a recipe for Cherry Pie and asked her fans to bake it.  Perry also shared some potential lyrics with her 97 million followers on Instagram and Twitter: ”Bake me a pie and you may get a surprise ” She added the wink face and cherry emojis.
•Bananarama – the original lineup are going to play live for the first time.  They have set UK concert dates for November and December.  (Yes!  ‘Venus’ live!)
•DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince – seems they are reuniting as well.  They are set to play the Livewire Festival in England Aug 27 and in Croatia the day before.  They haven’t  performed together since 2013.  (Do I smell a Super Bowl halftime show!!??)
•Sir Ray Davies – will vote for the first time ever in the forthcoming British election on June 8.  The Kinks legend has confessed he has always dodged voting for the British Prime Minster because he’s always been on the road touring, but he feels now with Brexit  it is a ”very important” time to make a difference.
•Chainsmokers – played in Pittsburgh on the weekend in front of a backdrop that read ‘Thank you Pittsburg’.  With no ‘H’.  After fans poked fun at them online they good-naturedly responded by saying that least they get another chance this week in ‘Clevelande’…with an ‘E’ on the end.
•Sam Hunt – stays atop the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart with “Body Like a Back Road.”
Brett Young remained second with “In Case You Didn’t Know,” one ahead of Luke Combs “Hurricane.” Combs traded spots with Jon Pardi, fourth with “Dirt on My Boots.” Josh Turner was fifth with “Hometown Girl.”

COMING ATTRACTIONS:
A BS Selection of movies in the making…

• “Blonde Ambition” – Madonna’s rise to fame is getting the big-screen treatment. The biopic was written by Elyse Hollander and previously topped 2016’s Black List, the industry’s ranking of the best unproduced screenplays.  Set in early 1980s New York, it follows the young singer as she struggles to get her debut album released while also contending with her burgeoning fame, romance, and a male-dominated industry. Brett Ratner (Rush Hour) and Michael De Luca (Fifty Shades of Grey) are on board to produce.
• “The Nun” – Taissa Farmiga will step into the role of the young nun for Corin Hardy’s ‘The Conjuring’ spin-off. Taissa Farmiga is the sister of Vera Farmiga, who along with Patrick Wilson play the paranormal investigators who appear in the James Wan-directed thriller ‘The Conjuring.’
• “Obi-Wan Kenobi” – Sam Esmail, the creator of the cult hit drama “Mr. Robot” has been meeting with Lucasfilm regarding a “Star Wars” movie, and it’s likely a spin-off focused on Obi-Wan Kenobi. Rumor has it that a Kenobi-centric spin-off set between “Revenge Of The Sith” and “A New Hope” is one of the projects under consideration.
(Yes, they will come up with a better name for a movie than “Obi-Wan Kenobi…”)
• “Outlaw King” – Chris Pine and Ben Foster may reunite for this Netflix movie.  It tells the story of Robert the Bruce (or Robert I), the king of Scots who led his country to freedom from England in the early 14th century.  Pine would play the Scottish king while Foster is in talks to play knight James Douglas, the king’s loyal aide.
• “Welcome Home” –  Aaron Paul and Emily Ratajkowski have signed on to this thriller.  The story centers on a couple who spend a weekend at a vacation rental home in the Italian countryside in an attempt to repair their relationship, but soon become victims of the homeowner’s sinister plans.

MIC THE UMP!
Major League Baseball is considering lifting the curtain a bit and allowing the home viewer to hear those top-secret ‘umpire conferences’ that they have when they aren’t  quite sure if they got the call right.  No firm plans yet, but it would be interesting to hear.  It might also be interesting to hear some of those animated discussions they have with managers and players. NFL, NBA and NHL officials have been mic’ed in varying degrees for years, so there is no reason NOT to be able to hear what a baseball ump says while he is doing his job.  Umpires may be wired up as a test run at this year’s all-star game in Miami.
(…when none of the calls matter anyway.)
(…when they can be sure that the managers won’t swear at them…)
(Some umpires can be heard just fine WITHOUT the mic, thank you!)

OFFSIDE:
We all know that a good night’s sleep is very important…both mentally and physically.  Now, doctors are saying that your sleeping POSITION also affects your health and can even save your life.  The recommendation is that we try to sleep on our LEFT side.
Here are some of the benefits:

-Makes it easier for the heart to pump (downhill)
-Helps circulate blood back to the heart
-Better elimination
-Supports healthy spleen function
-Facilitates lymphatic drainage
-Encourages proper digestion
-Helps bile flow more freely

How do you train yourself to sleep on the left?  Lie on your left side and put a pillow against your back, or put a dim light on your right side, which you will naturally turn away from.
(Just like when my wife won’t stop reading…)
(I start on my right.  After that, it’s anyone’s guess!)
(I sleep wherever the dog leaves me room!)

EGGS: GOOD FOR YOU AGAIN:
Nutritionists are saying that the best thing to have for breakfast is what Grandpa has been having for 60 years: eggs.  In a study, men and women who ate two eggs for breakfast lost 65% more weight than those who ate another breakfast containing the same number of calories.  PLUS: the egg-eaters reported having more energy!  Why?  The protein.  Each egg contains 6 grams.  So you don’t get hungry as soon afterward if you eat eggs, plus you don’t get that horrible morning bloated, full feeling you get if you load up on a bagel…or a couple donuts!
(The problem for me is what I put on them.  Sausage.  And McMuffin.)
(Maybe if they came with directions…)
