★ In the latest late night TV reshuffe, Craig Ferguson has announced he’ll be leaving “The Late Late Show” this December. The 51-year-old says he isn’t divorcing CBS-TV, just ‘consciously uncoupling’. Ferguson took over hosting duties in 2005, picking up from Craig Kilborn. The move is seen as a chance to lure younger viewers to the late night slot, though no replacement has yet been announced.

★ New couple sighting? Reports say singer/actress Selena Gomez & actor Orlando Bloom appeared cozy together as they arrived in the same car for a show at the LA Forum. And word has it they left together afterward. While the two have not been previously linked, Bloom is definitely single, currently going through a friendly divorce from fashion model wife Miranda Kerr; while Gomez is on a much less friendly break from pop star Justin Bieber.

★ Following the new trend of creating live TV ‘events’, FOX has ordered up a 3-hour live version of the hit musical “Grease”. “Grease Live” will feature a young ensemble cast and be based on the 1971 Broadway musical. The 1978 feature film version that starred Olivia Newton-John & John Travolta grossed nearly $400 million worldwide, ranking it as the highest-grossing movie musical ever. “Grease Live” will air sometime in 2015.

• Hunter Hayes – He’ll celebrate the May 6th release of his new album “Storyline” by trying to break the Guinness World Record for ‘Most Concerts Played in Multiple Cities in 24 hours’. He’ll attempt 10 shows in 10 cities on that day.
• John Legend – His model-wife Chrissy Teigen (“Sports Illustrated”) tells “Cosmopolitan” magazine that they joined the ‘Mile High Club’ … while on a commercial flight to Thailand … while under a blanket … in first-class. TMI?
• Miley Cyrus – She’s rescheduled tour dates postponed earlier this month after suffering from an extreme allergic reaction to antibiotics. Her “Bangerz” tour makeup gigs run August 1st in Uniondale NY through August 14th in Chicago IL.
• Toby Keith – He and a group of other recording artists, including The Band Perry and Reba McEntire, have joined up on the original song “Give ‘Em Hope”, which supports the feed-the-needy initiative Outnumber Hunger. The track is now available for $1.29 on iTunes.

Which is why the new, free app ‘Kitestring’ is such a welcome addition to our smartphones. Simply program the contact info of your nearest and dearest before embarking on a date or walking around in an unsavory part of town. ‘Kitestring’ checks in on you with pre-programmed texts, to which you respond. QUICKIES ARE NORMAL:
It’s not exactly the most romantic statistic: Almost half of men finish sex within 2 minutes, according to Dr Harry Fisch’s new book, “The New Naked: The Ultimate Sex Education for Grown-Ups”. Fisch notes that people are typically fixed on quantity (their frequency of sex), but the quality (and therefore duration) should be of equal concern. His observations reinforce previous studies that report the average sex act lasts 7.3 minutes, but 43% are completed within 2 minutes. URBAN MYTH PROVEN:
Videogame archaeologists have found a cache of Atari games that were buried in the New Mexico desert over 30 years ago. Reports that Atari had dumped millions of game cartridges were widely believed to be an urban myth. But a dig last week at a landfill site turned up slews of Atari cartridges, including copies of an “ET: The Extra Terrestrial” game. Atari made millions of copies, but it sold poorly and helped to contribute to the demise of the company. Atari is thought to have dumped truckloads of unsold games in the landfill near Alamogordo in 1983 as business was winding down. Only a limited amount were retrieved because the dig was only allowed access for 1 day. Local authorities ordered that the site be refilled Sunday. (R.I.P.)
