BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
Director Sam Raimi & star Tobey Maguire have quit “Spider-Man 4” after Columbia Studios put the sequel on indefinite hold due to script problems (a new director & star will be announced for what’s now planned to be a ‘a prequel’) . . . Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am, Tim McGraw, Mark Hoppus of Blink-182, and the All-American Rejects will be featured in the new ‘Gillette Uncut’ campaign, which will include a series of mini-documentaries on a website called ShaveLikeaRockStar.com (uh, do rock stars shave?) . . . Simon Cowell has made what everyone already knew official – he’s leaving FOX-TV’s “American Idol” after the current season and has sealed a $160-million deal to launch a US version of his UK TV talent show “The X Factor” (basically “American Idol 2”) . . . Angelina Jolie’s stylist blabs to E! Online that Brangelina will NOT attend Sunday’s “Golden Globe Awards” because Brad is ticked he failed to receive a nomination for his role in “Inglourious Basterds” (we’re guessing big-mouth is now ‘former stylist’) . . . FOX-TV has ordered up a 2nd season of its hit musical comedy “Glee” and announced a nationwide search for 3 new stars (oh oh, they’re messing with success!) . . . And 40-year-old singer/actress Jennifer Lopez tells “Elle” she has no plans to retire when she gets old(er), claiming she’ll still be singing & dancing ‘at age 71′ (is this some sort of threat?).

• Lady Gaga – She’s hired her childhood musical idol Boy George to support her during her shows at the O2 Arena in London next month. The 1980s icon is currently on probation after serving time for falsely imprisoning a male escort. (Y’know … they kind of look alike.)
• Paul McCartney – The 67-year-old is reportedly making secret plans to marry New England Motor Freight heiress Nancy Shevell, his American girlfriend of nearly 2 years, and is said to have announced his intentions to his family during a Caribbean vacation. ($50 million says this is a bad idea.)

• Usher – Atlanta GA police are investigating the alleged theft of $1-million-worth of furs, jewelry, designer clothes, and a laptop computer from his car while he was shopping in a store. (If you leave that kind of loot lying out in full view, you deserve to lose it!)
BS BUZZWORDS:
New cutting-edge vocab …
• ‘Deleb’ – A dead celebrity, particularly one used to endorse products in advertisements. (“Hi, this is Elvis for Wal-Mart Caskets …”)
• ‘Frugal Fatigue’ – Mental exhaustion caused by constantly pinching pennies and watching the bottom line during tough economic times. (“I’ve got a bad case of frugal fatigue. This morning I cut the end off the toothpaste tube to make sure none got wasted.”)
• ‘Wheredunit’ – A murder mystery or detective story where the location of a crime plays as important a role as the person committing it … as in a ‘Whodunit’. (By example: 2009 movie “The Chaser”, in which only the viewer knows the location of the protagonist’s home.)
HOW TO CHOOSE A FITNESS CLUB:
Looking to sign up at a gym? Experts offer these tips on how to find the right facility to add inspiration to your perspiration …
• Location: Is it convenient to home or work? It’s the #1 reason people use or don’t use a gym.
• Timing: Visit a prospective club during the same time you expect to be using it.
• Schedule: Are the classes you want offered at hours convenient for you?
• Ambiance: How clean is it? Is the music too loud? Is most of the equipment in working order?
• Profile: A meat market gym filled with gorgeous 20-year-olds might not be the most comfortable place for an overweight or mature woman. Pick a place that suits your style.
• Services: Do you need a personal trainer to keep you in line? Do you like group classes?

TOO MUCH TUBE IS TERMINAL:
Sitting in front of a TV hour-after-hour may raise the risk of death from heart disease and other causes … even in people who aren’t overweight. Australian researchers have found that adults who watch more than 4 hours of TV daily have a 46% higher risk of death from all causes and an 80% higher risk of cardiovascular death than those who watch less than 2 hours daily. Each hour sitting in front of a TV per day raises the risk of death from cardiovascular disease by 18% and risk of cancer death by 9%. (There’s also the possibility of being bored to death.)

HOW NOT TO GET A RAISE:
The most critical mistakes employees make when talking to the boss about a raise …
• Assuming longevity entitles you to a raise.
• Needing a raise because you bought a new house, car, or had a baby.
• Threatening to quit or refusing to do a project.
• Stating that some other employee got a raise so you want one too.

• Keep Your Old Friends – Time spent with individual friends makes you feel fulfilled, and that can only make couple time happier.

READ MY LIPS:
Scientists have found that women who have fuller and firmer lips are seen as younger than they really are. According to a new study, even if a woman’s skin gains wrinkles and her hair loses its luster, her appearance will belie her years if she has fuller lips. The findings confirm the conventional belief that a pout is one of the strongest signals of sexual allure. (Yeah, Donatella Versace is a real fox with those trout lips.)
