BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
We’re not sure why, but it’s been left up to actress Gwyneth Paltrow to clear up confusion over Beyoncé’s new baby girl’s name, confirming the tot is called ‘Blue Ivy’ Carter, not ‘Ivy Blue’ as preliminary reports indicated (yep, seems they’re seriously going to call their baby ‘Blue’) . . . “American Idol” producers say they’re unconcerned about competition from other singing shows as “Idol” is the ‘gold standard’ for the format, attracting about double the audience of “The X Factor” (“Idol” returns January 18th with a 2-night premiere) . . . Yet another new TV talk show is in the works, as Kathy Griffin (“My Life On the D-List” 2004-10) has landed her own gabfest on Bravo that will include stand-up comedy and celebrity interviews (premieres this Spring) . . . NBC-TV has confirmed that its comedy “Community” will ‘definitely be back’ in the Spring (its cult following cheers!) . . . FOX-TV has announced it’s developing a Saturday late-night block of new animated projects of varying lengths to go up against NBC-TV’s “Saturday Night Live” (scheduled to begin airing in January 2013) . . . FOX has also announced there will be no “Glee” spinoff show, but has confirmed that Lea Michelle will continue to star on the show (Chris Colfer and Cory Monteith are still wondering) . . . A week after Nick Cannon’s admission for an apparent kidney problem, Mariah Carey continues to tweet pics of her husband in the hospital (are we desperate for attention?) . . . “Life & Style” has confirmed that 37-year-old actor Ryan Phillippe is dating a 20-year-old model/actress named Paulina Slagter (she can’t even get into a bar in California) . . . TV actress Kat Dennings is dating Nick Zano, the guy who plays her love interest on CBS-TV’s “2 Broke Girls” (this is gonna be awkward on-set!) . . . And there are rumors that 48-year-old actor Johnny Depp & longtime girlfriend/baby-mama Vanessa Paradis (39) are having relationship problems and may have caught that nasty split bug that’s going around (they’ve been together since 1998 – an eternity in Hollywood terms).

• Brandy & Monica – They’ve re-teamed to record together 14 years after their duet “The Boy is Mine”. That mega-hit spent 13 weeks atop “Billboard” magazine’s ‘Hot 100’ in 1998. The twosome has confirmed via Twitter that they’re currently working together in a Miami studio.
• Christina Aguilera – She’s spoken out about critics poking fun at her recent weight-gain, saying she’s very confident with her body. Quote: “As long as I’m happy in my own skin, that’s all I need.”
• David Bowie – “Life on Mars?” has been voted his greatest-ever song in a new Digital Spy music poll marking his 65th birthday this past Sunday. The track is from the “Hunky Dory” album, released in 1971.
• David Nail – Nearly a year after its release, “Let It Rain” has become his first #1 country single. It’s from the album “Sound Of a Million Dreams”.
• Elton John – He’s signed a deal to publish ‘the very personal story’ of how AIDS has affected his life. “Love Is the Cure: Ending the Global Aids Epidemic” will include his memories of friends who’ve died due to AIDS-related illness, including Queen frontman Freddie Mercury in 1991.
• Katy Perry – Word has it Russell Brand may have been ‘uninvited’ from tomorrow night’s “People’s Choice Awards” (CBS) because his estranged wife is one of those up for numerous honors.
• Lady Antebellum – They’ve announced on their official website that Hillary Scott quietly wed drummer Chris Tyrrell over the weekend in an upstate New York ceremony witnessed only by close friends & family. They became engaged last July.

CES 2012:
Today through Friday is the “2012 International Consumers Electronics Show” in Las Vegas, the world’s largest consumer technology show. Well over 100,000 visitors will take in thousands of exhibits unveiling the latest electronic gizmos & gadgets. This is the show where many now-common devices were first introduced (Tablet PCs in 2010; Blu-ray in 2004; Xbox in 2001; HDTV in 1998; DVD in 1996). Among this year’s new products: voice-controlled TVs (Lenovo); the world’s thinnest laptop (Acer ‘Aspire’ ultrabook); and the solar-powered tablet (OLPC XO 3.0).

Chief ‘Kopimist’ Isak Gerson founded the church as a 19-year-old philosophy student and led the year-long effort to gain freedom of religion protection under the Swedish constitution. LOW-COUNT DEEP-THROATS:
Men with deep voices have lower sperm counts than their counterparts, researchers have discovered. With studies finding that women rate men with deep voices as being more dominant, older, healthier, and more masculine, scientists from the University of Western Australia have tried to discover if they are also more fertile. In experiments, women judged men with lower-pitched voices as more attractive, but those same men had lower sperm counts. The biology behind the phenomenon may be quite simple, with high levels of the male sex hormone testosterone impeding sperm production. (A shortage of male on-air personalities is predicted.)
