After a stint in hospital, 23-year-old drug-addled actress Mischa Barton is ‘doing great’ and preparing to begin filming on “The Beautiful Life” (CW), according to the show’s creator, Ashton Kutcher (who stands to lose a pantload if she doesn’t get better).

• John Lennon – A song he wrote in the 1960s could see the light of day from beyond the grave. His son Julian is working on writing music for Lennon’s lyrics to “Tell Her Now”, part of a private collection Julian acquired after his father was killed in 1980.
• Julianne Hough – The dancer-turned-country singer is nominated for an Emmy Award for outstanding choreography for a “Dancing With the Stars” dance routine set to “Great Balls of Fire”. The Emmys air September 20th.
• Justin Timberlake – He’s reopened his Mirimichi Golf Club near Memphis TN after spending $16 million renovating the course to make it more eco-friendly. He bought the property in 2007.
• Kid Cudi – The “Day ‘n’ Nite” rapper is launching an acting career, signing to appear on “How to Make It in America” (HBO), a new comedy produced by Mark Wahlberg and the team behind “Entourage”.
• Leona Lewis – The “Bleeding Love” singer has revealed she’s having hypno-therapy to boost her confidence. Mentor Simon Cowell has arranged for her to be treated by celebrity therapist Paul McKenna to calm her nerves ahead of a proposed 14-month tour.
• Michael Jackson – Chicago-based jeweler LifeGem, which specializes in creating diamonds from individual hair samples, has announced plans to release a limited edition made from the King of Pop’s hair. The charred locks were saved after the disastrous 1984 Pepsi commercial shoot when his hair caught on fire. (OK, can this get any cheesier?)
• Radiohead – Movie director Chris Weitz has confirmed rumors that a new solo recording from frontman Thom Yorke is slated to appear on the soundtrack of “New Moon”, the much-anticipated sequel to “Twilight” (opening November 20th).
• System Of a Down – Serj Tankian has announced he is writing his 2nd book of poetry. He writes in a blog post that the project will have ‘a visual/interactive element’. (About the only way you’ll get his fans to read poetry.)
• Taylor Swift – Fans could be in for a long wait for her next album. She tells MTV News she likes to take a lot of time and really develop an album for a year-and-a-half or 2 years so that it’s ‘not thrown together’. (OMG, by then she could be 21!)

• “Dragonball Evolution” ( Fantasy Thriller ): Justin Chatwin plays young warrior ‘Goku’ who sets out on a quest to collect a set of 7 magical orbs that will grant their wielder unlimited power, racing against time and the vengeful ‘Lord Piccolo’. Co-stars James Marsters & Yun-Fat Chow. Based on the anime/manga comic books and TV series (1986-89). The film was mostly shot in an abandoned jeans factory in Durango, Mexico using greenscreens.
• “Fast & Furious” ( Action Thriller ): Vin Diesel & Paul Walker return in this 4th film in the street racing series. This time their feud is reignited back in Los Angeles, where a crime has pitted them against one another yet again. Also returning from the original 2001 film: Michelle Rodriguez & Jordana Brewster. Available in a ‘2-Disc Special Edition DVD’.
• “Miss March” ( R-Rated Comedy ): Zach Cregger & Trevor Moore, who honed their chops in NYC comedy troupe The Whitest Kids U’Know, co-direct and co-star as buddies who attempt to crash a party at the Playboy mansion so one of them can win back his former sweetheart, now one of the magazine’s hottest centerfolds. Co-stars Raquel Alessi.
• “Streets of Blood” ( Crime Drama ): Val Kilmer, 50 Cent, and Sharon Stone stars in this straight-to-DVD drama about a New Orleans police officer who comes to believe that his former partner was murdered during the mayhem of Hurricane Katrina. Why straight-to-DVD? Val Kilmer, 50 Cent, and Sharon Stone.
• Also released today: “Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series” (TV); “Dollhouse: Season One” (TV); and “Jim Breuer: Let’s Clear The Air” (Comedy).

Studies in which people keep ‘lie diaries’ suggest that we deliberately mislead others in 25% of interactions that are not just fleeting conversations. In total, we lie and are lied to about 200 times a day. Modern technology isn’t helping, as texting and email just seem to make truth-bending even easier. What’s interesting is that usually we’re fooled by lies. Despite urban myths about telltale signs (ie: lack of eye contact), we’re generally no more successful at detecting lies from facial clues than using a coin-toss. Dubai’s Al Nassma, the world’s first chocolates made from 100% camel milk, will soon be marketed internationally. The company is currently in talks with upscale British department store Harrods and San Francisco’s Chocolate Covered to sell its products. With 3,000 camels on its Dubai farm, it currently sells through its own store as well as in luxury hotels and on private airlines and hopes to eventually meet a production target of 100 tons per year. Why should you try camel chocolate? Camel milk reportedly contains 5 times more vitamin C than cow milk, less fat, less lactose, and more insulin, making it a good option for diabetics and the lactose intolerant.
