BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Whitney Houston’s “Bodyguard” co-star, Kevin Costner, has dropped a bombshell on fans – That wasn’t Whitney pictured on the iconic poster for the film. According to Costner, Whitney “had gone home and that was her (stunt) double, and her head was buried into my shoulder, which was appropriate anyway. She was frightened.” The image for the poster was taken from the scene where Costner’s Frank Farmer carries musical superstar Rachel Marron out of a nightclub after a riot had broken out. Costner instantly recognized that it would make for the perfect poster, and 27 years after its release, it is still the endearing image from the film, and one of the main reasons why it went on to gross $411 million worldwide.

★ Jason Momoa wants to remake 1988 comedy “Twins” with former “Game of Thrones” co-star Peter Dinklage. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito played the ill-matched siblings in the original, and when asked about starring in a reboot while at the San Antonio Fan Fest in Texas on Saturday, Momoa responded: “Tell me where to sign! Absolutely. That’d be amazing. I love that movie.” Fans seem to like the idea as well, and one even created a mock-up poster for the new version. LINK

★ (***Caution: Contains “ass”***) It started as an unexpected challenge on Twitter, but now it looks like Justin Bieber’s UFC showdown with Tom Cruise could actually happen. A few weeks ago, Bieber challenged Cruise to a fight in the UFC Octagon. While Bieber later backtracked and said that Cruise has the “dad strength” that would allow him to “whoop my ass”, the prospect isn’t quite dead in the water. According to TMZ, Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun, has indicated that the singer is open to stepping into the octagon. And entertainment mogul Ari Emanuel, whose firm William Morris Endeavor owns UFC, reportedly told Braun that he thinks Cruise is equally fascinated by the idea.

★ On Friday, a group of lucky fans were treated to the winning combination of java and Jackman. While in Chicago for his “The Man. The Music. The Show.” tour, Hugh Jackman took to the streets of the Windy City to serve coffee — along with some autographs. He shared some photos of himself on Instagram, handing out cups of coffee from a black truck with the logo “Laughing Man”, which is part of the Laughing Man Coffee Company charitable foundation. Jackman opened Laughing Man Coffee in New York City, and it has since expanded into a foundation that provides college scholarships and housing improvements for coffee farmers and their families in developing countries.

• Nicki Minaj – has come out swinging after Miley Cyrus called her a “Perdue chicken”. “Perdue” is a US brand of organic chicken. Minaj said in a new episode of her Queen Radio show that “She disrespected me in a magazine article for no reason.” Her anger was also sparked because of Cyrus apparently siding with Minaj’s longtime enemy Cardi B in her new song ‘Cattitude’ with the line: “I love you Nicki but I listen to Cardi.”
• Neil Young — Elliot Roberts, who managed his career, as well as those of Joni Mitchell, Tom Petty and many others, died Friday at 76.With David Geffen, Roberts was one of the pivotal figures in the rise of the Southern California and Laurel Canyon music scenes of the Sixties and Seventies. He also helped launch the careers of Tracy Chapman and the Cars.
• Crowbar — Kelly Jay, the founder and lead singer of the influential Canadian classic-rock band famous for the song ‘Oh What a Feeling’, died early Friday in a Calgary hospital after suffering a stroke earlier this month. He was 77. The song was inducted into the Canadian Songwriter’s Hall of Fame in 2011.
• Rolling Stones — Mick Jagger made a triumphant return to the stage in Chicago on Friday night, following the postponement of their North American tour three months ago so he could undergo heart valve replacement surgery. The 75-year-old led the charge as the Stones rolled through their 2-hour set. One reviewer described him as a “whirling dervish” on stage.
• Tom Petty – Lawyers representing his estate are among those who filed a lawsuit Friday against Universal Music Group over a 2008 fire that they say destroyed valuable master recordings. The lawsuit seeks in excess of $100 million. The suit was filed in Los Angeles Friday by attorneys also representing Tupac Shakur, Steve Earle, Soundgarden and Hole, and “all others similarly situated.” A New York Times Magazine story reported on the 2008 fire which is said to have destroyed as many as 500,000 master recordings.

Bradbery, who launched her career as a contestant on “The Voice”, posted: “I’m so bummed I’m going to miss out on all the fun in Chicago today. I was in a car accident on my way to the airport, however I’m o.k. Getting checked out now and going to get some rest.” The LakeShake Festival kicked off on Friday, featuring a headlining show from Miranda Lambert.
IT’S ABOUT TIME:
You’ve heard of being on “island time,” where everything is a lot more laid back and people are way less stressed about making deadlines? How about “no time?” The residents of a Norwegian island who are in the midst of an annual period of 69 days of daylight say that they want to declare their home the world’s first time-free zone. That’s right, the islanders, whose main sources of income are tourism and fishing, are calling for formal opening hours to be abolished and people to be allowed to “do what we want, when we want” – although children will still have to go to school. Their plan is to go “time free” until the midnight sun period ends on July 26. Sommaroey Island is located north of the Arctic Circle, and the 350 people there say that since no one can tell the difference between day and night, they tend to ignore the clock anyway, so why not have more flexible school and working hours? As the campaign’s official Facebook page puts it: “If you want to paint your house at 2am, it’s OK. It we want to take a swim at 4am, we will.”
(Dude, I’ve gone swimming at 4am, and I can tell you this: Nothing good ever comes from swimming at 4am!)
(Hey, if I can call a plumber at midnight and not have to pay him double, I’m all for it!)
(All well and good until you want to go see a movie, and you don’t know when…)

PEOPLE ZAPPER:
Would you trust a friend with the ability to administer a shock to you whenever he wanted? That’s one of the options of a new wearable technology which promises to help you break bad habits. The Pavlok is a web-enabled wristband that looks like a fitness tracker, but it provides a small electric shock that its creators say can help curb smoking, eating junk food, biting your nails or watching too much TV. Although first released in 2014, the newer models of the $300 tech promise that not only can you shock yourself when you cave in to the habit that you are trying to quit, you can grant a friend access through a smartphone app to administer the shock remotely when caught in the act, or you can program the Pavlok to know when you have your hand near your mouth to bite your nails or when your chest hits the floor in a failed push-up. The zap is said to feel like the type of static shock that comes from rubbing your socks on the carpet and touching a doorknob.
(What if getting zapped is the habit that I’m trying to break?)
(I have never had a friend who I would trust with something like this!)
(I’m not sure if this could be called the bad cop to Apple watch’s good cop – or Fitbit’s evil twin!)

HOW TO SHAKE THE MONDAY MORNING BLUES:
They usually hit on Sunday about 5pm, and last until…well, Monday at noon. Here is how to start your week on the right note:
1. Savor that Sunday sleep: The only thing worse than waking up on a Monday morning is waking up on a Monday tired. Try this: have a bath or long shower and get into those cozy PJs and call it an early night. Come 6 a.m., you’ll be so glad that you did. (Too late?)
2. Have a hit list: Have a list of five or so ‘action items’ to complete during the week. That will help you feel in control and focused on Monday morning. Creating a short list of what will make your week satisfying helps you stay on track. (Yeah, that “hit list” is usually completed FOR me before I ever get to work!)
3. Infuse Monday with a little fun: Why not make Monday the new Thursday? Go to a movie. Have sushi with a friend. Have your co-worker over for a glass of wine and a little cheese — Mondays feel way different when your week is punctuated with pleasure. (Go out on Monday? I can survive Friday on no sleep. I can’t do that all week!)
4. Make a change: If your Monday misery feels impossible to contain over time, it’s probably a good sign you need to make a change. Maybe you need a vacation or to look for a new job.
(That’s exactly what my boss said!)

DID YOU KNOW?
Psychologists say we are more likely to cry when watching movies while on a plane. Why? Our emotions become magnified when we fly, mostly because air travel is inherently stressful. Another reason we’re more likely to cry on planes: When we watch an in-flight movie, we wear earphones which gives us the feeling we’re all alone – and studies show that when we’re by ourselves, we’re more likely to allow ourselves to have a good cry.
(Which is why I always pay my bills when no one else is around…)
