BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ It’s official. “The Wendy Williams Show” will air its final episode this Friday. The Wendy Williams Show had been slated to continue through the end of the season with rotating guest hosts, as Williams has been sidelined with health issues for the entire season. Over the past few years, Williams had taken various health-related hiatuses from her show and had been vocal with her viewers about suffering complications from both Graves’ disease and lymphedema. Williams will not be present for the final episode, but it will include a video montage with a tribute to her and her 13-year run. It was announced in February that a daytime syndicated talk show hosted by Sherri Shepherd would succeed The Wendy Williams Show, beginning this fall.

★ Hollywood creators want to model a better culture around guns. Amy Schumer, Shonda Rhimes, and many more Hollywood actors, writers, producers have signed their names to an open letter agreeing to “model norms and visions that guide us to a safer America free of gun violence.” 200 Hollywood leaders signed the pledge, put together by the Brady Organization, including Jimmy Kimmel, Judd Apatow, J.J. Abrams, Mark Ruffalo, Julianne Moore, and others. The letter reads, in part: “Hollywood has modelled positive culture change before: Seatbelt use, smoking, teen pregnancy, marriage equality. Now, as America’s gun violence epidemic worsens, is the time to undertake a responsibility in storytelling depicting firearms and gun safety.” Along with onscreen depictions, the signatories also vow to fight for gun law reform in the wake of the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, and gun violence in general.

★ Britney Spears and Sam Asghari are officially Mr. and Mrs. — but it didn’t happen before some very serious legal legwork, to make sure her millions are protected down the road. TMZ reports that sources close to the newly married couple say they have an ironclad prenup in place where Asghari doesn’t get a dollar from the fortune Spears has made up to this point. Word is that lawyers were called shortly after the couple got engaged to start figuring things out. Britney’s worth a reported $60 million, with potential for serious earnings in the future. You might recall that at one point, Asghari joked that HE was the one who wanted the prenup — to protect his jeep and shoe collection.

★ “Doctor Who” has found its latest villain. Neil Patrick Harris, the star of “How I Met Your Mother”, is joining the BBC sci-fi series. Harris’ character has not been revealed, though the British public broadcaster has unveiled a first-look photo of him on set, in an old-timey apron with what appears to be a pair of pliers. Showrunner Russell T Davies called his character the “greatest enemy the Doctor has ever faced”. Harris, who is set to headline Darren Star’s Netflix comedy series “Uncoupled”, joins new Doctor Ncuti Gatwa and Heartstopper breakout Yasmin Finney, who will play ‘Rose’, as well as returning stars David Tennant and Catherine Tate.

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• The Kid Laroi – was joined onstage by some legends of Australian music during his Saturday gig in Melbourne. Not AC/DC. Keith Urban? Nope. The Wiggles. The crowd went crazy, and sang seemingly every word of their song ‘Fruit Salad’. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/yh96sn4m
• Post Malone – has made 2 announcements: One is a 2-month North American tour in support of his newly released album “Twelve Carat Toothache” — with help from special guest Roddy Ricch. The Twelve Carat tour begins Sept. 10 in Omaha NE. The other? He has welcomed his first child with his fiancée, whom he hasn’t identified.
• Nickelback – Desperate to end a 12-game losing streak, baseball’s LA Angels decided to play Nickelback music only at their game last Wed. in hopes of changing their luck. Every batter used a Nickelback tune as their walk-on song. The team still lost, this time 1-0 to Boston.
• Def Leppard – is celebrating its 45th anniversary…with booze! In partnership with Swedish liquor producer Brands for Fans, Lep has released 2 premium gins named after songs on their classic “Hysteria album: ‘Animal’ and ‘Rocket’. The group’s tour with Mötley Crüe, Poison and Joan Jett begins tomorrow night in Atlanta.
• Kenny Loggins – In his memoir “Still Alright”, out today, he details how Garth Brooks settled a copyright dispute with him while inside a judge’s chambers, rather than having to go to trial. Brooks paid an undisclosed sum due to the similarities between his 1993 hit ‘Standing Outside the Fire’ and Loggins’ 1991 release ‘Conviction of the Heart’.
• Toby Keith — won’t be touring in 2022. He has cleared his concert calendar, following the weekend announcement of his stomach cancer diagnosis. There had been more than a dozen dates on the 60-year-old’s calendar through early November, but his official website now has no shows listed.
• Cole Swindell – Not only did he recently nab his 11th #1 hit ‘Never Say Never’ with Lainey Wilson, he’s revealed plans for his headlining “Back Down to The Bar Tour”, launching Sept. 23 in Helotes TX. Ashley Cooke and Dylan Marlowe will be supporting acts. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/ytsebn4u
• Old Dominion – CMT will air “CMT Let Freedom Sing! Music City July 4th,” which is Nashville’s Fourth of July fireworks display and concert headlined by Old Dominion. In addition, the “Red, White & Blue Weekend” will include CMT Hot 20 Countdown’s annual “Holiday Salute to the Troops” special.

SHOOTING THE BULL

DON’T LOSE SLEEP OVER THIS:
Maybe sometimes, when it’s too hot in your bedroom, or when you’d just prefer to be able to S-T-R-E-T-C-H right across the mattress, you look back longingly on your “sleeping-single” days. Well, this might surprise you: According to a new study, having a sweetheart to cozy up to can actually help you get a better sleep. Researchers from the University of Arizona found that those who share a bed with a spouse or partner experience better-quality sleep than those who sleep by themselves, and may even have a lower risk of issues such as insomnia and sleep apnea. However, those who often share a bed with a child reported higher levels of insomnia, less control over their sleep and have a greater risk of apnea.
(I do know THIS: Sleeping with a partner is definitely healthier than sleeping with someone else’s!)
(Well…there’s my new pickup line! “Come home with me — I guarantee you’ll get a good sleep!”)

SUB-PAR EXPERIENCE:
Many hardcore golfers go their entire life without ever sinking a hole-in-one. Frank Kowalski did it twice – in the same round. It all started with his first swing of the day. He was running late for his weekly outing at Bentley Village Golf Club last month in Naples, Florida, so he didn’t have time to practice. Using a sand wedge on the 7th hole where his group was starting, he hit a hole-in-one. Then on hole #15 — one of the trickiest on the course – he scored another ace with a 5 wood. The 74-year-old described it as the most exciting day he has ever experienced on the greens.
(He says he’s lucky, because the windmill almost took out his ball on the 15th hole…)
(That’s a LOT of drinks to buy at the 19th hole, though…)

SCOOBY-DOO, WHERE ARE…NEVER MIND – FOUND HIM:
How would you like to sleep in Scooby’s van? Actor Matthew Lillard, who played ‘Shaggy’ in the live-action film version of “Scooby-Doo” 20 years ago, has partnered with Airbnb to give fans a chance to stay overnight in the “Mystery Machine”. Lillard will virtually host the guest experience, and says he “can’t wait to welcome guests into the world of the Mystery Inc. gang…and give them a summer vacation they’ll never forget…monsters not included!” For just $20 a night, guests will be able to stay in the Mystery Machine and get a view of the Southern California coastline from the parked vehicle. Fans will appreciate the attention to details, including exterior decals, a lava lamp, fairy lights, a square TV, and a Sugar Ray album that you can play on a portable CD player. There’s also an outdoor setup featuring a couch and hammock, and you can watch Scooby-Doo episodes with popcorn and movie candy. Airbnb will begin taking bookings for the Mystery Machine tomorrow. But Zoinks! There are only 3 overnight stays available. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/2p8rpd4h
(What? No Scooby-snacks?)
(Just wondering if there’s any of Shaggy’s second-hand smoke still wafting around in there…)

AGE-BY-AGE GUIDE TO CHORES THAT THE KIDS SHOULD BE DOING:
For parents, it’s often a shock to realize how much more cleaning is required once kids are added to the mix. From sweeping up spilled cereal to organizing a playroom full of toys, it can be overwhelming to manage day-to-day chores. But how old should your child be before you start asking them to help? According to Elizabeth Fraley, a Los Angeles educator and CEO of Kinder Ready, an education program focused on kindergarten readiness and private school preparation, here’s the rundown of what jobs are appropriate at what ages…
Ages 1-2:
 • put toys away in a toy bin

Ages 3-4

• feed pets
• set the table
• make the bed
• put laundry in hamper

• set, clear the table
• wash dishes (with adult supervision)

 • all of the above, plus:
• pack lunch for school
• load and unload dishwasher
• help with cooking (I’m STILL not allowed to do this…)
• fold and put away laundry
• sweep floors
• rake leaves

Ages 9-10
• all of the above, plus:
• vacuum

• clean mirrors, dust furniture
• sweep porch, deck, garage or sidewalks

Ages 11-12

(And after 12, good luck getting them to do anything!)

DID YOU KNOW?
What would you do if you won the lottery? New house? New car? Quit your job? One thing that most of us say we WOULDN’T do is – tell others, even our own family, according to a new poll. A survey of over 1,100 people, commissioned by Play Pennsylvania, looked at people’s lottery playing habits and how they would react to hitting the jackpot. 83% said they would keep their winnings a secret to avoid the outstretched hands of their friends and family. On the other hand, 88% said they’d donate the money, giving a slice to charity or relatives in need. And interestingly, 2% said they’d walk away from their significant other if they were a big winner…
