Here, Have Another Sheetload!

BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Several months after the multiple accusations of sexual assault and misconduct that looked to have finished his career for good, Kevin Spacey will appear in a new movie. After he was deleted entirely from “All The Money In The World”, with his leading role re-shot with Christopher Plummer, Spacey will make his big-screen comeback in “Billionaire Boys Club”, playing Ron Levin, a real-life con artist who perpetrated a get-rich-quick scam on the families of wealthy Harvard schoolboys in the early 1980s. Billionaire Boys Club, which was shot before the allegations against Spacey surfaced, opens next month.

★ Cameras have started rolling on the sequel to last year’s blockbuster “Wonder Woman”. The next installment in the DC Universe franchise fast-forwards to the 1980s for “Wonder Woman 1984”. On Wednesday, director Patty Jenkins tweeted out the first official photo from the new film, revealing that Chris Pine’s character Steve Trevor is back and suitably decked out in ’80s fashion. Pine’s character was thought to be dead at the end of “Wonder Woman” after sacrificing himself. “Wonder Woman 1984” is set for release November 1, 2019.

★ “Stranger Things” star Millie Bobby Brown has been forced to leave Twitter due to harassment. Brown deactivated her Twitter account after online bullies turned her into a homophobic meme. While many of the tweets directed at the actress have since been deleted, they were said to have tried to label Brown as a violent homophobe by adding statements and slurs to her photos. At this point, the motive remains unclear.  However, some users claim it was started as an “inside joke” among LGBTQ users on Twitter.

★ Stan Lee has gone to court for protection against his presumably soon-to-be-ex-business partner and friend, Keya Morgan. Lee filed for a restraining order on the heels of Morgan’s arrest on suspicion of filing a false police report. It was reported Morgan may have lied when he told cops two gunmen showed up at Stan’s Hollywood Hills home on the night of May 31, demanding money. Morgan has been a constant fixture at Lee’s side over the last year … helping create videos with the Marvel legend at his home.

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Beyoncé – We finally know who bit her, according to the eyewitness who started the whole uproar. Internet sleuths had narrowed the list of potential suspects to two: Sanaa Lathan and Sara Foster. Both denied they were the biter. But multiple outlets later identified Lathan, the star of “Love & Basketball,” as the culprit. Now, Tiffany Haddish has confirmed those suspicions. (Our long national nightmare is over…)
• Haim – The sibling trio recently revealed how they found out they were paid one-tenth what a male artist was paid to play a festival, despite their name appearing just one space below his in the lineup. This prompted the band to let their agent go.
• Kanye West – tweeted his love of the Deadpool movie franchise – before claiming some of the songs used bear a resemblance to his own sound. After ’Ye tweeted to Ryan Reynolds, “Bro, I would have cleared my music for Deadpool.” Reynolds responded with one of his trademark Twitter clapbacks: “Agree. I’m having a word with Celine Dion.” Although Dion had her song ‘Ashes’ included in the Deadpool sequel, it’s unlikely hers is the sound West is referring to.
• Savage Garden – are not happy with a new London bar that is also called Savage Garden. They tweeted a link to an article about the new venue, adding: “Did ya do a basic google search to see if the name Savage Garden had been used in a pretty public and global commercial way before you named your bar the same name?”. Twitter users responded, including this one: “Did you do a quick google and discover that the bar is located opposite a street called… wait for it… Savage Gardens…”
• Toto – Since Weezer’s cover of their song ‘Africa’ has become their biggest hit since 2009, Toto guitarist Steve Lukather has promised that his band will record a cover of a Weezer song. What’s more, when Weezer played ‘Africa’ on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Tuesday night, Toto’s Steve Pocaro joined the band onstage just in time to play the keyboard solo.
• Paul McCartney – It’s official! CBS has announced he will appear on James Corden’s “Carpool Karaoke” during The Late Late Show’s upcoming London episodes. McCartney’s appearance has been rumored since he and Corden were spotted in Liverpool on June 9, visiting several Beatles-related sites. The Late Late Show’s London episodes will air next week.
• Journey – when asked if he thinks former singer Steve Perry will ever sing with the band again, keyboardist Jonathan Cain said, “I don’t know. You’d have to ask Steve on that.” He did say, though, that he hopes Perry continues to make music whether it is with Journey or not.
• Kelly Clarkson – will sing ‘God Bless America’ at the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular on NBC. Ricky Martin, Blake Shelton and Keith Urban will also perform.
• Dan + Shay – will co-host Westwood One’s holiday special, Celebrate the USA. They are slated to share 4th of July memories and play live. Also playing live summer-themed music: Kenny Chesney, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, Sam Hunt, Jake Owen and more.

• “Tag” (R-Rated, Comedy): For one month every year, five highly competitive friends hit the ground running in a no-holds-barred game of tag they’ve been playing since the first grade– risking their necks, their jobs and their relationships to take each other down with the battle cry “You’re It!”. (Isla Fisher, Jon Hamm)
• “Superfly” (R-Rated, Action/Drama): The 1972 blaxploitation film that helped define a genre is reimagined with Director X, the director of legendary music videos (Drake, Rihanna), introducing it to a new generation. (Trevor Jackson, Jason Mitchell)

RAISING THE SUBJECT:
What’s the best way to get a raise? Ask for it! That’s what “Shark Tank” star Barbara Corcoran says. Corcoran, who built a real estate empire that sold for $66 million in 2001, says on her podcast that over the years, she has hired a lot of people and “The people who get paid the most are almost always the ones who ask for a raise. She says she usually hands out raises of 5 to 10 per cent, but there’s one scenario in which she’s “always given more”: “When people come in with a higher number.” But she cautions that you still have to come into the meeting prepared to list the reasons you deserve the amount you’re asking for. Corcoran suggests you think of it as a sales presentation, “because that’s exactly what it is. And really strut your stuff.”
(What if I haven’t got any stuff to strut?)
(It also helps if you have a few pictures of your boss in a compromising situation…)
(Oh, no you don’t! Sure, I might get the raise, but then my boss will think I’m obligated to him or something…)

HIT THE SNOOZE BUTTON THREE MORE TIMES:
We’ve always been told that the magic number when it comes to hours of sleep is eight. That is apparently how many hours are necessary to stay healthy. Well, not any more. Daniel Gartenberg, a sleep scientist and assistant adjunct professor Penn State University, says that the optimal amount of sleep is 8.5 hours per night. Why the change? He says that although 8 hours of sleep is desirable, we aren’t sleeping the whole time we are tucked in for the night. A healthy sleeper only sleeps about 90% of the time they are in bed, so he says that if you want to get the eight hours that most people need, you need to spend 8.5 hours in bed.
(Does this include the 2 hours I doze on the couch before I drag my sorry butt to bed?)
(So now I get to sleep in until the crack of dawn-thirty?)
(I guess that means I’m either going to have to shorten the Netflix…or the chill!)
