BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Prince Louis’ parents are well aware that he stole the show during Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee — even if he misbehaved a little. When Prince William and Kate Middleton shared a roundup of Instagram photos Monday from the 4 days of festivities, they wrote, “We all had an incredible time, especially Louis…”, alongside a “googly eyes” emoji. The Duke and Duchess included many pictures of themselves celebrating the monarch’s historic 7 decades of service, but notably did not throw in any shots of 4-year-old Louis making silly faces. He first made headlines during Thursday’s flypast when he covered his ears and appeared to scream. During Sunday’s event, Louis entertained the crowd with more funny expressions, even sticking his tongue out at his mom while on that palace balcony. He clapped, waved at onlookers and appeared to stand on a chair and throw a cushion before Middleton removed him for a brief break. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/2p8p7muc

★ Michael J. Fox has given an update about his ongoing battle with Parkinson’s disease. The “Life With Mikey” star went public about his condition in 1998 but continued working on shows like “Boston Legal”, “The Good Wife”, and “The Michael J. Fox Show”. He’s since largely retired from acting altogether and recently revealed that he doesn’t like to take roles due to not being able to remember many lines. In an interview on the podcast “Working It Out”, he elaborated, saying: “I don’t take on something with a lot of lines, because I can’t do it. And for whatever reason, it just is what it is. I can’t remember 5 pages of dialogue. I can’t do it. It can’t be done. So, I go to the beach.”

★ “Magnum P.I.” could join an elite group of popular broadcast series that have overcome shocking cancellations to continue their runs. Reports are that talks are underway for NBC and/or USA Network to potentially carry the series, which stars Jay Hernandez. Immediately following CBS’ surprise May 12 cancellation of Magnum P.I. after 4 seasons, Universal Television, which co-produced the series, sprung into action and started exploring potential new homes for the show. Sources say that an arrangement still is being worked out, with one scenario being for new episodes to air on NBC while USA would run previous seasons of the action drama, a reboot of the 1980s series that starred Tom Selleck.

★ Howie Mandel is partnering with a unique tech company that plans to make life a lot easier for a germaphobe like himself. Instead of having to show up in person, it allows you to be displayed anywhere — as a hologram in a box. Mandel has been named an advisor for Proto Inc., inventors of the world’s first 4K, volumetric, self-contained holoportation machine. Aside from keeping him away from germs, he sees it as a great way to work more efficiently. The technology makes it possible for him to do stand-up at multiple venues, all in real-time.

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Halsey – is celebrating the 5-year anniversary of their album “Hopeless Fountain Kingdom” with some exciting news. Friday, the singer announced they will release a live version of the album later this month. “Hopeless Fountain Kingdom – Live from Webster Hall” drops on June 24. Halsey’s highly-anticipated new song ‘So Good’ comes out this Thursday.
• Billie Eilish – has a fan in . . . Nancy Sinatra. The daughter of Frank Sinatra, and fellow ‘James Bond’ theme singer, picked Eilish as an artist she’d love to work with, telling Uncut magazine: “Billie Eilish would be fun. I don’t know if she’d like to sing with a grandmother, but it might be interesting.” The idea might not be as far-fetched as she thinks: Eilish has previously cited Frank Sinatra as an influence.
• Kelly Clarkson — is taking some of her favorite covers from her “Kellyoke” TV segment and putting them on an EP. “Kellyoke”, out this Thursday, will include her full-length studio recordings of Linda Ronstadt’s ‘Blue Bayou’, The Weeknd’s ‘Call Out My Name’, the Billie Eilish hit ‘Happier Than Ever’, plus Whitney Houston’s ‘Queen of the Night’, Shaed’s ‘Trampoline’ and Radiohead’s ‘Fake Plastic Trees’.
• Peter Gabriel — Drummer Manu Kache told a French newspaper that Gabriel’s new album will be out later this year and he will be touring in 2023. The long-awaited album will be his first since “Up” in 2002.
• Guns N’ Roses – at their first gig of 2022 Saturday in Portugal, the group played a pair of classics for the first time in 3 decades, plus an AC/DC cover they hadn’t performed before. Their setlist included ‘Reckless Life’ for the first time since 1993 and AC/DC’s ‘Walk All Over You’. And during the encore, GNR performed the electric version of ‘You’re Crazy’ for the first time since 1991.
• Led Zeppelin — Jimmy Page says the group was approached about staging a virtual concert tour, similar to Abba’s acclaimed “Voyage” production. While he believes the project could have been successful, the band’s remaining members couldn’t agree on a way to proceed, so it “didn’t really get moving.”
• Luke Bryan – will kick off his “Raised Up Right Tour” on Thurs., and the first show will feature a pre-party concert with “American Idol” contestant Kelsie Dolin. The Season 20 fan-favorite revealed the news via her Instagram stories, writing: “If you haven’t got your tickets to the Luke Bryan concert in Charleston WV, hurry and get them!!! You might just see a familiar face!!!”
• Carly Pearce — has added a second show at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, after tickets to the first show sold out in less than an hour. She’ll now play there October 26 and 27.
• Marty Stuart — Fans checking out his annual Late Night Jam during Nashville’s CMA Fest are in for a treat: The evening will feature appearances from guitars once owned by Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Tammy Wynette and more. The instruments will be played by contemporary stars like Lainey Wilson and Emmylou Harris. CMA Fest runs June 9-12.

LONG(-ISH) WEEKENDS:
What is the key to feeling happier at work? “Summer Fridays” would do the trick, according to a new poll. What are summer Fridays? That’s when workers are allowed a short day or day off on occasional Fridays during the season. 59% of 2,000 working adults surveyed said their jobs offer Summer Fridays, and over 8 in 10 agreed that it makes them feel much happier at work (Duh!). The survey, commissioned by Wisetail, drilled deep into the impact weather has on our on-the-job effectiveness, with 73% saying they believe it directly affects their productivity. Cool temps and clear blue skies were associated with being most productive at work, and heavy rain and freezing temperatures were seen as the root cause of unproductive workdays. Time is also a factor. In order to have the “best day” at work, the average person needs to wake up at 7:30am, while rising at 8:30am is considered the “worst” way to start off the day.
(Summer Fridays — We have those! Informally, at least. Whenever the boss takes off early on a Friday, so do we!)
(Why not? It’s not like anything gets done after noon on a beautiful Friday afternoon, anyway!)

SNOOZIN’ AND BOOZIN’:
Not getting enough sleep alters the way we see others, and not in a good way, according to a new study. Researchers at Uppsala University in Sweden found that sleep-deprived subjects in an experiment rated angry faces as less trustworthy, and rated healthy-looking, neutral and fearful faces as less attractive, indicating that sleep loss is associated with more negative social impressions of others. They say this “could result in less motivation to interact socially.” The lead author explained: “Since facial expressions are crucial to understanding the emotional state of others, spending less time fixating on faces after acute sleep loss may increase the risk that you interpret the emotional state of others inaccurately or too late.” The scientists say the findings could have considerable implications for bar-going singles who are routinely sleep deprived.
(I know one thing. Whenever I don’t get enough sleep, I can definitely get ugly!)
(I’ve heard of ‘beer goggles – but ‘SLEEP goggles?)

COUCH PAYOUT:
A California woman was pretty happy when she arranged to get a couch for free through a Craigslist ad. Imagine how she felt when she found $36,000 inside! Vicky Umodu of San Bernadino County was looking to buy some used furniture when she found the listing, later learning that a family was giving it away due to the recent passing of a loved one. But once she moved the pieces to her home, she found the cash – all $36K – underneath a cushion. She notified the family, offering to return the money, who reciprocated with a cash reward for her honesty. The family said they aren’t sure why the cash was in the couch, and they later discovered hundreds of dollars stashed away in other parts of the residence.
(And what do I find inside MY couch? Just a bunch of old cereal pieces. And a ton of pet hair!)
(The cash was in the couch because it offers a better interest rate than any bank these days!)

• “Daniel Boone Day”, On June 7, 1769, frontiersman Daniel Boone first saw the forests and valleys of present-day Kentucky. He is largely credited with exploration and settlement of that state. Contrary to the coonskin cap-wearing stereotype, Boone preferred a felt hat.
• “June Bug Day”, a member of the Phyllophaga genus, which consists of over 260 species of scarab beetles, which tend to be most visibly active in June. That’s when they emerge from the ground to search for food and a mate. They may have been in the ground as larvae for up to 3 years.
