Bully For You!

BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Arnold Schwarzenegger is reportedly desperate to make a new Conan movie, but he doesn’t have rights to the character. Arnold says that while a “finished script” isn’t far away, he has no control over what the Robert E. Howard estate does with the character. The new movie would follow a 70-year-old Conan, played by Schwarzenegger, who has become disillusioned with life as the king.  Schwarzenegger has wanted to reprise the role for over 20 years, a character he was specifically chosen for after producers reportedly saw him in “Pumping Iron”.

★ King Kong Bundy, the legendary WWE wrestler know as the “walking condominium,” has died at the age of 61.  A cause of death was not immediately released. Bundy, whose real name was Christopher Pallies, starred in the first two Wrestlemania events in the 1980s. The WWE described Bundy by saying he was “so dominant that he demanded referees count to five when he pinned his opponents to show that there was no way they were getting up.”

It was released for International Women’s Day. Starbucks is also playing a curated list by Grande of her songs. (Go ahead…make your best “Grande” joke…)
• Cardi B — has released a video for her latest single, ‘Please Me’ with Bruno Mars. It is streaming now at her official YouTube channel and is available at all DSPs and streaming services. The song debuted at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week.
• Britney Spears – Her father will undergo more surgery next week.  Jamie Spears’ colon spontaneously ruptured in November and he was left hospitalized for nearly a month after an operation.  At the time, Britney postponed her Las Vegas residency to tend to her father.
• Michael Jackson — Spotify and Apple Music have not taken action against his music catalog following the release of “Leaving Neverland,” the documentary that accuses him of sexually abusing two young boys in the ’80s and ’90s. That is a departure from the stance the two companies took against R. Kelly after he was hit with new accusations of sexual misconduct.
• The Who — Pete Townshend’s debut novel “The Age of Anxiety” will be published on November 5. What he refers to as a “magnum opus” is the result of a decade of work, and consists of a book, opera and art installation about society’s fears for the future.
• Woodstock — A number of artists performing at Woodstock 50 in Watkins Glen, New York have been paid in full after rumors surfaced that the anniversary event was in financial trouble.  Payment happened a few days later than originally planned.  Woodstock 50 is expected to draw 100,000 fans.
• Justin Moore – has revealed the track listing for his new album “Late Nights and Longnecks”, out April 26.  He says the album was inspired by his family life and his country idols Dwight Yoakam and Keith Whitley.
• Tim McGraw — is not only releasing a new album this year, he’s also releasing a new book. “Grit & Grace: Train the Mind, Train the Body, Own Your Life”, will be released on Nov. 5. In it, McGraw shares his journey towards health, and encourages others to create their own goals.

DON’T RUB IT IN:
Have you ever spent an afternoon at the beach or at a barbecue, diligently slopping on the sunscreen every hour…and still ended up with a burn?  You’re not the only one.  The U.S. FDA is making moves to crack down on sunscreens which may not only make false claims regarding the amount of protection they offer, but may also contain unsafe chemicals.  If passed, a bill would require more testing on sunscreen.  Only two sunscreen ingredients are generally recognized as safe – zinc oxide and titanium oxide.  Any other ingredients will require more research to prove they are ok.  The crackdown would also require a disclaimer if the sunscreen hasn’t been shown to prevent skin cancer.  And those “SPF” numbers they use?  The FDA says manufacturers have long “bamboozled” consumers into believing they’re getting more protection from the sun than they actually are. There should be a ruling on the proposal later this year.
(The best sun protection around here is the weather!)
(As long as I can get sunscreen without that horrible fake coconut smell, I’m happy…)
(Just as well.  I’m sick and tired of all those girls in bikinis who are always asking me to rub it on them!)

I’LL TAKE TWO…
The French sports car brand Bugatti has unveiled the most expensive sports car ever built.  The Bugatto LaVoiture Noire made its public debut this week at the Geneva International Motor Show in Switzerland.  List price?  16.7 euros ($19 million US).   It was developed to celebrate Bugatti’s 110th anniversary and only one has been built.  The sleek black roadster features an 8-liter engine with 16 cylinders which can generate 1500 horsepower.  Bugatti, which is owned by Volkswagen, has not identified the owner of the unique set of wheels, but whispers in the industry indicate that company chairman Ferdinand Piech has added it to his collection of high-end cars.
(I guess with a name like “Noire”, it’s out of the question to get one in red?)
(I would have bought it, but premium gas is way too expensive…)
(How is it in the snow?)

DID YOU KNOW?
A study found that the ideal work-to-break ratio is 52 minutes of work, followed by 17 minutes of rest. People who maintained this schedule were shown to be 100% dedicated to the task at hand.  They didn’t check Facebook “real quick” or get distracted by e-mails. When they felt fatigue (after about an hour), they took short breaks, during which they completely separated themselves from their work. This helped them to dive back in refreshed for another productive hour of work.
