The BS Press!

BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
[***UPDATE***] TMZ reports that sources with direct knowledge say the 2 are NOT dating, and the dinner was with a group of people, not just the 2 of them. ★ Pedro Pascal and Jennifer Aniston have sparked romance rumors after a 3-hour dinner date Saturday. They were photographed exiting West Hollywood’s Tower Bar at the Sunset Tower Hotel together and chatting outside the valet area. Social media users gushed over the pairing, with one X user writing, “I’M HERE FOR THIS.” Another speculated that the “Gladiator 2″ actor will be featured in Aniston and Reese Witherspoon’s Apple TV+ series, “The Morning Show.” Reps for Aniston and Pascal have yet to respond to requests for comment.
-PageSix
★ Paul Rudd has addressed rumors of his return to the MCU in upcoming “Avengers” films “Doomsday” and “Secret Wars”. Rudd – who made his Marvel debut as ‘Ant-Man’ in the 2015 movie of the same name, and was last seen in the role in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania”, began by saying that directing brothers Joe and Anthony Russo “have my number.” He told Collider when asked if he was involved: “They know where I’m at, and that’s all I can say. I don’t really know how to play these things.” But he may know more than he’s letting on. When asked if he had plans to travel to London, which is where Doomsday is scheduled to begin production in a few weeks, his answer was: “Isn’t everyone traveling to London soon now in this business?”

★ Denzel Washington said that he doesn’t consider himself a “Hollywood actor” during his weekend appearance on “CBS Sunday Morning.” During the interview, he was asked: “What’s the definition of a Hollywood actor?” His answer: “Myself, I’m from Mt. Vernon, so I’m a ‘Mt. Vernon actor.’ I don’t know what ‘Hollywood’ means. Somebody who’s famous on film? A film actor, great success on film?” Washington described himself as “a stage actor who does film; it’s not the other way around.” He’s currently appearing on Broadway in an “Othello” revival alongside Jake Gyllenhaal.

★ Let us rejoicify: “Wicked” has finally made its way to streaming! Released in theaters ahead of Thanksgiving, it grossed over $700 million, and after a VOD release to ring in the new year, the movie musical is now available on NBC’s streamer, Peacock. Wicked got 10 nods at the 2025 Oscars, and took home 2: Best Costume Design for Paul Tazewell and Best Production Design for Lee Sandeles and Nathan Crowley.

★ “The Flight Attendant” and “The Big Bang Theory” star Kaley Cuoco is set to lead the new series “Vanished”, which is expected to be the hottest new show available at this week’s Series Mania in France. Starring in the suspense drama alongside Cuoco will be Sam Claflin, known for his work in “Peaky Blinders”. The logline reads: “When a romantic getaway to Paris takes a dark turn with the sudden disappearance of her boyfriend ‘Tom’…’Alice’ is plunged into a web of intrigue and danger, uncovering shocking secrets about the man she thought she knew.” Production is expected to begin next month.

SHOOTING THE BULL

FAKE VIEWS:
A viral filter which made people look overweight has been removed from TikTok, after a “ton” of complaints from users. The so-called “chubby filter” used AI to take your photo and give you the appearance of having gained some extra poundage. While some users had fun posting their so-called “before and after” shots and making jokes about the transformation, others weren’t laughing, and said the filter promoted body shaming. Experts also chimed in, warning that this kind of thing could contribute to toxic diet culture and possibly even trigger eating disorders. After the BBC reported on the backlash, TikTok removed the filter entirely. So, no more virtual weight gain selfies—probably for the best!
(It’s ironic, because I’ve spent so much time on TikTok that my chin is starting to look like that in real life!)
(…but it’s OK for the Kardashians and all those “beautifully famous” people to use AI to do the opposite?)
-BBC

FISH AND BIRD TALES:
❑ A Dutch city is broadcasting an underwater livestream of fish swimming through a lock system, and those watching can click a virtual “fish doorbell” to tell workers in Utrecht that the fish need to be let through a hatch. The livestream was set up 5 years ago, and since then, millions of viewers all around the world have worked together to help ensure these fish finish their springtime migration, so they can…uh…do that thing they do once they’re done swimming upstream… (cue Marvin Gaye music…). Some viewers have even sent fan mail, telling the local municipality that they are happy to help, and besides, they find watching the fish to be “relaxing”. (Apparently, fish celebrate “spring break,” too!) LINK: https://visdeurbel.nl/en/
❑ Just like frustrated commuters, birds develop “road rage” due to traffic noise, says a new study. Researchers found that native species in the Galápagos Islands are changing their behavior as a result of cars and trucks. Birds frequently exposed to vehicles showed heightened levels of aggression in the study, published in the journal Animal Behaviour. It examined the impact of vehicle noise pollution on Galápagos yellow warblers, a common songbird on the archipelago off the coast of Ecuador. The birds were seen to increase the maximum frequencies of their songs during noise experiments, and if traffic noise still interfered with their singing, they were seen to exhibit increased physical aggression, which the scientists called “an appropriate response.” (I’d only be concerned if one of them learns to ‘flip the wing’ at another driver!)

NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH:
With the arrival of spring comes that annual feeling of pressure to “keep up with the Jonses’”, says a new survey. The Weed Man poll of 2,000 homeowners in the US found that 76% feel that they need to be competitive with their neighbors when it comes to the outer appearance of their home. Not only that, 25% said they feel they are openly competitive about having the “best house on the block.” One in 9 said they have directly copied a neighbor in their style choice or presentation. And 15% believe a neighbor has copied theirs.
(Yes, I’ve noticed a lot of MY neighbors have been “inspired” by my family’s unique fashion style – which consists of a ‘bicycle-strewn-driveway, a ‘garage-so-full-the door-won’t-close’’, and ‘well-worn-pathways-where-the-lawn-used-to-be’!)
(Yea, I certainly DO feel pressure to keep up with my neighbors – but only when it comes to the Halloween treats we pass out – and whose BBQ gives off the most smoke, apparently!)

2. Bangkok, Thailand: Everything from the acclaimed restaurant Gaggan Anand to a multitude of markets with delectable $3 street-food.
3. Medellín, Colombia: Great prices, including on the country’s amazing coffee.
4. Cape Town, South Africa: A multitude of diverse food offerings, particularly the seafood.
5. Madrid, Spain: Its flourishing food scene is both diverse and experimental.
[***Other Bull Sheet countries in the top 20: Abu Dhabi, UAE (#15), Montreal, Canada (#18)***]
(Have you ever set your travel destination based on the food available there?)

DID YOU KNOW?
Eating in front of a mirror makes a meal more satisfying. In 2022, researchers at Nagoya University in Japan conducted an experiment, in which participants ate in front of a mirror. They showed clear benefits from watching their reflection while chowing down on bowls of popcorn, finding it tasted better and eating more of it than when they were placed in front of a wall. It was also found that simply looking at a photograph of oneself eating was linked to an increase in the amount and enjoyment of food consumed. (Darn! I guess that means ‘food-selfies’ are scientifically justified!)
