100% Grade A Bull!

BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:

★ (***NOTE ‘F’***) Alec Baldwin reacted angrily after some people left negative remarks on his baby post announcing his sixth child with Hilaria Baldwin. One user questioned who the mother is, noting that Hilaria gave birth just six months ago, writing: “If it was a surrogate just say that. If the baby was adopted just say that. If the baby was a product of an affair and you’ve decided to raise it with your wife just say that. If you don’t want to say anything – why don’t you both stop constantly posting and begging for clickbait.” Alec’s reply: “you should shut the (***F***) up and mind your own business.”

★ Spike Lee is currently in production on a documentary film about New York City and the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. “NYC Epicenters 9/11 – 2021½” will premiere on HBO this year. The multi-part documentary will be a portrait of how New Yorkers have rebuilt and rebounded not just from the terrorist attack, but now an ongoing global pandemic. The film features over 200 interviews of citizens with firsthand accounts of 9/11.

★ Gal Gadot and her husband Yaron Varsano are expecting their third child together. She shared the happy news on Instagram on Monday, just hours after she presented during the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday. Gadot posted a family photo featuring Varsano and their daughters: 9-year-old Alma and 3-year-old Maya, with the caption: “Here we go again.”

★ “Dexter” fans have been excited about the upcoming series revival, and now star Michael C. Hall seems to have subtly hinted that there could be more episodes beyond that. Recently, Hall sat down to discuss the revival and was asked if this will mark the end of the franchise. His response? “I’m reluctant to say ‘definitely’, you know? What’s plain now is that there’s 10 new episodes.” The revival will pick up a decade after the series’ 2013 finale, with Hall’s ‘Dexter Morgan’ now living in the fictional small town of Iron Lake, in Upstate New York.

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Taylor Swift — heard about the joke in Netflix’s “Ginny & Georgia” — and she’s not shaking it off. The show used a line that read: “You go through men faster than Taylor Swift.” Swift’s reaction: “Hey Ginny & Georgia, 2010 called and it wants its lazy, deeply sexist joke back. How about we stop degrading hard-working women by defining this horse (crap)—- as FuNnY.”
• Cardi B — would love to record a song with Lizzo, but only when she is ready. Cardi tweeted over the weekend to show her appreciation for Lizzo, then was inundated with requests for the pair to team up on a song. She responded to one follower: “Can I do a song first that I can put her on?”
• Nirvana — After the success of Tapehead City’s Love Buzz Red reissue of their “Bleach” album, the cassette purveyor announced another limited-edition reprint. The “Blew” edition (pressed on a cobalt blue tape) is named after the album’s opening song and will be limited to 1,989 copies, in honor of its release date. It has already sold out through preorders.
• Evanescence — will release the new single ‘Better Without You’ this Friday. It is from the band’s upcoming album “The Bitter Truth”, which drops March 26.
• Queen – has released a mobile game. “Queen: Rock Tour,” is available on Android and iOS, and according to a press release, it allows players to “fully immerse themselves into the world of Queen.” Fans push buttons to rhythmically play along to Queen classics. TRAILER: https://youtu.be/_AlrGDSOMqw
• Fleetwood Mac – Unlike Christine McVie, who recently said she can’t imagine the band touring again, he does envision a possible farewell tour. Quote: “It would be hugely appropriate, that we actually say ‘this is goodbye’ and go out and actually do that.” Could a farewell tour include estranged guitarist Lindsey Buckingham? “Strange things can happen.”
• Osborne Brothers – TJ Osborne appeared on “CBS Good Morning” and reflected on the month since he announced, via Time Magazine, that he is gay. He called the reaction “a tsunami of love, almost to the point that it was hard for me to comprehend it for several days,” and said that had he “known that the whole time, I would have done it probably a long time ago and saved myself a lot of strife.”
• Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd – In an interview, they spoke about the exciting landmark moments of parenting. Morris noted that although their nearly year-old son Hayes isn’t walking yet, “He’s fast. We can’t look away because he is just across the room in a second.” Hurd pointed out that Hayes has the words ‘Mama’ and ‘Dada” down, but hasn’t yet figured out “who is who”.
• Chase Bryant – said “I owe my parents more than I could ever even tell you,” after People shared his story of attempted suicide. His new song ‘Upbringing’ isn’t a tribute to his parents and their dedication to him after the gun he planned to use to end his life misfired, but it is a “show of pride” for how Bryant was raised. He says if it weren’t for them, “I don’t know that I wouldn’t (have tried) again.”

SHOOTING THE BULL

SEIN OF THE TIMES:
A Toronto restaurant is taking advantage of the lockdown binge-watching craze with a menu themed around everyone’s favourite show about nothing: “Seinfeld”. Unlike the ‘Soup Nazi’ in the show who screams “No soup for you!” Betty’s General is offering up a “That’s a Big Matzo Ball” soup, along with other Seinfeld-inspired menu items, like the “Big Salad”, “Double Dip Dip,” and who could resist an order of “These Pretzels Are Making Me Thirsty”, probably with a drink on the side? And for dessert, might I suggest “Mr. Pitt’s Snickers”, served with a knife and fork, of course. Betty’s General proprietress Amanda Gatien says that she and her staff had a fun, but tough time deciding which dishes to feature because there are so many hilarious food references to choose from. She’s holding off on a few ideas for a possible “sequel” menu, which might feature things like crab bisque, Kenny Rogers roaster chicken…or even Jujyfruits…if she can find them.
(But I’m not sure if George’s “Garbage-can éclair” will ever make the cut!)
(And who’s gonna turn down a Junior Mint?)
(It turns out that Seinfeld wasn’t a ‘show about nothing’ at all. It was always about food!)

CAT DOGMA:
According to the old stereotype, dogs are loving and fiercely loyal, while cats are aloof and indifferent. And while most “cat people” would probably disagree, it’s probably best to trust science on this one. A new study by researchers in Japan employed a method previously used to study dogs, and found cats – unlike dogs – don’t avoid strangers who refuse to help their owners. In the experiment, a cat watched as her owner tried to open a box. Two strangers sat on either side of the owner and the owner asked for help. Only one complied. Then, both strangers offered the cat a treat. When this experiment was conducted on dogs, they preferred not to take food from a stranger who refused to help their owner. Cats? They were completely indifferent, showing no avoidance of the unhelpful person. Apparently, as far as cats are concerned, food is food. In defence of kitties, previous research has shown that cats do form emotional bonds with their humans.
(Don’t get all mad at the cats. Chances are, they weren’t even paying attention…)
(Hopefully this is some indication that if we all died, our cats would eat strangers before eating our friends…)

SPREAD THE WORD:
How about some delicious Reese’s peanut butter cups – hold the chocolate? The Hershey Company has announced a new addition to the Reese’s line-up that’s very peanut-buttery. Very, very peanut-buttery. In fact, the new Reese’s cups will be chocolate-free. Hershey’s announced that it was celebrating National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day with the release of an all-peanut butter cup, called the Reese’s Ultimate Peanut Butter Lovers Cup. It will be available for a limited time only.
(Is this aimed at those unfortunate souls who have a nasty chocolate allergy?)
(Can I get a “jelly-cup” to go with that?)
(So, these are “peanut butter cups – literally!)

MONEY FOR THE WEEKND:
Music artists have definitely been hit hard by the pandemic, with concert revenues dropping off to next-to-nothing. And many say that releasing music isn’t much of a money-generator, either, with some going so far as to refer to streaming earnings as a “joke”. However, there is still money to be had, if you’re lucky enough to score a hit — or a few. Here’s The Weeknd’s US 7-day revenue take for the week ending Feb. 11, including sales and streaming earnings, according to Buzz Angle.
• Blinding Lights (#3 biggest money-generating song of the week) – US$119,890
• Save Your Tears (#4) – $107,044
• The Hills (#37) – $41,783
• Starboy (#50) – $34,981
• Total:  $303,788
(And remember…this is just for his 4 most-popular songs…and just for one week…in one country…)

DID YOU KNOW?
US scientists have successfully tested a solar panel the size of a pizza box in space, designed as a prototype for a future system to send electricity from space to any point on Earth. The panel — known as a Photovoltaic Radiofrequency Antenna Module, is designed to harness light from the sun to convert to electricity. It is aboard a drone which loops Earth every 90 minutes. The panel is designed to make best use of the light in space, which doesn’t pass through the atmosphere, making it more powerful than the sunlight that reaches Earth. (I look forward to some day driving an electric car that “fills up” while I drive…)
