BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Cassie Ventura’s lawyer called out her ex, Sean “Diddy” Combs after US Homeland Security raided 2 of his homes. The singer’s attorney said: “Hopefully, this is the beginning of a process that will hold Mr. Combs responsible for his depraved conduct.” Federal agents swarmed Diddy’s Miami and Los Angeles properties Monday in connection to a sex trafficking investigation. Pics emerged hours later of the record executive at the Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport, pacing in a white t-shirt, blue sweats and sneakers. The raids came 4 months after Cassie sued the rapper for rape, decades-long physical abuse and more, in a bombshell lawsuit.

★ Arnold Schwarzenegger has revealed he had a pacemaker implanted. The actor and former California governor, who is 76, announced on his podcast that he’s recovering from the procedure after previously having 3 open-heart surgeries. He said he’s “doing great” after having surgery on a Monday, and, as he out it, “by Friday, I was already at a big environmental event with my friend and fellow fitness crusader Jane Fonda.”

★ Scarlett Johansson is in talks to star in the new “Jurassic World” sequel. “Rogue One” director Gareth Edwards is set to direct. Although plot details are being kept under wraps, apparently the film will start a new story, separate from the trilogy of “Jurassic World” films that starred Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, which saw the eventual inclusion of Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern and B.D. Wong.

★ Sam Levinson is moving the “Euphoria” storyline away from high school into early adulthood, and HBO has agreed to give the showrunner more time to get it right. The racy teenage show was already delayed because of last year’s double strike. The decision to make the characters older will also serve to make the show’s edgy themes of sex and drugs less risqué. HBO announced Monday that filming for Season 3 of the Zendaya-led drama will be delayed, and gave its star-studded cast permission to pursue other projects in the meantime.

★ The door Kate Winslet infamously clung to at the end of “Titanic” has sold for a hefty price at auction. The slab of wood that played a role in Leonardo DiCaprio’s onscreen death sold for an impressive $718,750 during Heritage Auctions’ Treasures from Planet Hollywood event — making it the priciest item at the auction. The door — which is actually a doorframe, according to the auction’s notes — wasn’t the only “Titanic” memorabilia — the pale purple and pink chiffon dress Winslet wore as ‘Rose’ for most of the film’s sinking scene was also sold, for $125,000. SHOOTING THE BULL

CHIPS ANEW!
For the life of me, I cannot see how this could be a bad thing. The cookie brand “Chips Ahoy!” says it is unveiling a new cookie…with better chocolate chips. It is part of a recipe revamp of the original cookie, known for its bright blue packaging. The company says the new version will look and feel the same, but with an updated taste that features chocolate chips with higher cocoa and Madagascar vanilla extract content, giving it a “richer cookie flavor” and “creamy” chocolate taste, according to the company. The new and “MMMproved” recipe will be available starting next month.
(Just a guess here, but is “Madagascar vanilla extract” cheaper than whatever it is replacing?)
(When it comes to chocolate chip cookies, there’s no one bigger than Chips Ahoy! In fact, you might even refer to them as a “Cookie Monster”!)

NO NOTIFICATION NOTIFICATION:
I’ve heard of leaving your smartphone on ‘silent’ in order to avoid interruptions, but it seems that now, a large number of Gen Zers (and, yes, also some millennials) are utilizing the “Do Not Disturb” mode on their phones – in some cases, all day long. That’s right: Going on vibrate or silent isn’t enough anymore, it’s DND 24/7. On TikTok, videos tagged “DND” and “DND 24/7” show teens and 20-somethings sharing how peaceful and productive they’ve felt since changing their notification settings. A story in Huffington Post quotes a 21-year-old explaining that when it comes to studying, “a new Snapchat notification or Instagram message can often send me into a downward spiral of scrolling through my social media accounts for several minutes.” A 2005 study found that, on average, it takes around 23 minutes for most people to get back on task after an interruption. Other Gen Zers go incommunicado for different reasons, like “peace of mind” for a while during the day. And it’s a bonus that going on DND also means avoiding the spam calls and texts that they would otherwise be receiving. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/yfa6c3ed
(Sounds great. But to paraphrase that great poet ‘Fresh Prince’, “Bosses just don’t understand!”)

GUILTY PLEASURES:
Does this sound familiar? You’re at a restaurant, checking out the menu and drooling over some of the food options. But then…just as you are about to order, you feel a twinge of guilt. What’s that about? Well, at least you’re not alone. A recent survey found that 67% of us feel guilty when eating out. In today’s economic climate, almost a quarter of us feel that spending money on a meal out is stressful. And 44% of them said that’s because of the amount of money spent. The survey, conducted among adults in the US, also found that people are getting creative with their dining choices, by doing things like using coupons and ordering meals that will give them enough to bring home leftovers. 77% said they feel adults should be allowed to order from the kids’ menu – but only one in 5 have been bold enough to do so. And among those who have tried to order from the kids’ menu, about one-third have been denied.
(So, I guess getting crayons for while I’m waiting is out of the question?)
(I never feel guilty about spending money on a meal at a restaurant. Spending money on a SECOND meal? Well, maybe…!)
