★ And Disney World hasn’t been paying all its employees minimum wage, a labor investigation has found. Theme park employees who play ‘Mickey’ and other Disney characters have had a ‘uniform or costume expense’ deducted from their pay, causing some to earn less than the minimum. Disney World has also required employees to perform duties before and after their shifts for which they’ve not been compensated. To make amends Disney has reportedly agreed to pay out $3.8 million in back wages to 16,339 of its employees.

HOW TO BE HAPPY:
Happiness stems from all aspects of life, from employment to health to friendships. A few findings about what inspires happiness worldwide …
✓ Self-employed people have higher overall life evaluations.
✓ People are happier when they maintain their social life throughout the work-week.
✓ People who have partners, solid relationships with extended family, or simply someone to count on are much happier than those who do not.
✓ Family, childhood, and schooling influence happiness later in life.
✓ Income is more important for happiness than education.
✓ But it’s not all about money. Social status at work, social relationships in the workplace, daily work structure, and goal-setting also play major roles in determining happiness levels.
