BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
“Glee: The Music, Vol 3 Showstoppers” tops the Soundscan album sales chart this week (the 4th “Glee” release in the past 7 months) . . . Ellen DeGeneres is starting her own record label and the first musician to be signed is 12-year-old YouTube sensation Gresyon Chance, famous for singing Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” with an unnecessary amount of sincerity (one season as an “American Idol” judge and now Ellen’s a music mogul?) . . . If you were surprised and/or weirded out by the news that movie star John Travolta & his 47-year-old wife Kelly Preston are expecting another kid, at least the reports that she’s pregnant with twins is being denied (please say you’re adopting … please!!!) . . . Meantime, Gwen Stefani’s rep is denying ongoing rumors that she’s pregnant (apparently she’s just fat) . . . A Disney employee has been arrested on suspicion of insider trading and, as a result, it may have accidentally been revealed that Disney is selling ABC-TV (maybe Oprah will buy it?) . . . Despite philandering Jesse James’ tearfully delivered excuse on “Nightline” (ABC), his stepmother is denying his claim that his father was abusive (dude, just stop talking) . . . It’s been announced that actress Sandra Bullock will appear on the “MTV Movie Awards” to accept the ‘Generation Award’ (and no doubt a ‘standing O’ from fans) . . . And now that he’s leaving the show, Simon Cowell has decided it’s okay to reveal his least favorite performance ever on “American Idol” and the winner (loser?) is – Clay Aiken’s rendition of “Grease” (ouch!).

• Dave Matthews Band – Tonight they launch an extensive North American Summer tour with a 2-night stand at the Comcast Theatre in Hartford CT. They’ve already warned fans that in 2011, they plan to take a much-needed year-long break.
• The Faces – The ‘70s rockers will reunite this August at the Vintage at Goodwood Festival in England, sans original singer Rod Stewart. The lineup will include original members Ronnie Wood (Rolling Stones), Kenney Jones, and Ian McLagan, plus Simply Red singer Mick Hucknall and Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock.
• Keith Urban – He tells Minnesota’s Wild Country 99 he’s only had one experience shoveling snow and he’ll never, ever do it again. Spoken like an Aussie!
• Kings Of Leon – Drummer Nathan Followill confirms they’re almost done recording their next album. Most of it was done in NYC, but they’re finishing up in their hometown of Nashville.
• Mindy McCready – Her mother has revealed the 34-year-old embattled country singer was hospitalized because she tried to kill herself by taking a near lethal dose of prescription pills meant to treat obsessive-compulsive disorder.
• Pink – Saturday she’s scheduled to begin her “Funhouse Summer Carnival Tour” in Cologne, Germany.
• Rage Against the Machine – They’re leading a boycott of the state of Arizona over its controversial new immigration law. Among other artists participating in the ‘Sound Strike’: Cypress Hill, Kanye West, Massive Attack, Rise Against, Serj Tankian, and Sonic Youth.

• Ronnie James Dio – Sunday a public memorial service for the heavy metal vocalist/songwriter takes place at 2 pm at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Hollywood Hills CA.

In a recent survey, most men say they wouldn’t cheat on their partners even if there was no chance they’d get caught. 67% of married men and 60% of unmarried men say they’d refuse to be tempted. What’s more, fully 95% of married men say they wouldn’t leave their wives for a more beautiful or exciting woman. (Of course, if someone asks you this stuff in a public survey, what are you gonna say?)

SOLITARY YOUTH:
Loneliness is more prevalent among the young than those past retirement age, a new survey suggests. The so-called “Lonely Society” report describes the generational differences uncovered in its survey as ‘striking.’ Nearly 60% of those aged 18-to-34 who were questioned admit to feeling lonely ‘often’ or ‘sometimes’, compared to just 35% of those over 55. (Too much Facebook, too little face-time?)
