✳ 56-year-old Peter Robbins, the former child actor who was the voice of ‘Charlie Brown’ in the 1960s “Peanuts” animated TV specials has been sentenced to drug rehab and a year in jail by a San Diego CA court. Robbins pleaded guilty last month to 2 felony counts of stalking and making criminal threats against his former girlfriend. His judgment was affected by alcohol and drug addiction at the time, according to a probation report. After the sentencing, the judge further advised Robbins: “Don’t be a blockhead!” (Everyone’s a comedian.)

✳ Rapper-turned-reggae artist Snoop (Dogg) Lion claims he was a for-real pimp for high-profile athletes and fellow celebs a decade ago when he hit the road on the “Playboy Tour”. He says he had a bus with 10 women follow him around, and when players showed up to hang out, they could pick and choose whichever they wanted. And Snoop further claims his ladies became rich because he gave them all the cash they earned. Quote: “It was never about the money; it was about the fascination of being a pimp.” (How endearing.)

ORIGINS OF BODY PART NAMES:
Some quick explanations on how various parts of our anatomy got their labels …
• Calf – Nothing to do with a baby cow. The bovine word is from Old English, the anatomical term comes from the Old Norse word kálfi.
• Elbow – The el- part comes from the Old English ‘eln’, meaning arm or forearm. The –bow part has to do with bending, as in rain-bow or cross-bow.
• Index Finger – Opposite to what you might think, the earliest meaning of ‘index’ was ‘forefinger’. The use of the word to mean an alphabetical listing came a couple centuries later.
• Iris – The colorful ring-shaped membrane of the eye and the flower both take their name from Iris, the goddess of the rainbow in Greek mythology.
• Palm – In ancient Rome, it was customary to place a palm leaf in the hands of the victor in a contest. The Latin word ‘palma’,  meaning palm of the hand, became associated with the tree.
• Pupil – From the Latin ‘pupilla’, meaning ‘doll’. Lexicographers claim the name stuck because that’s the small, reflected image you see when looking into someone’s pupil.
• Sole – The fishy ‘sole’ and the fleshy ‘sole’ are related. The word entered Middle English via Old French. The fish is named for its shape … like the bottom of a foot.
