Bullseye!

BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ The royal family has made a lot of headlines lately with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s upcoming wedding. Now, the Royal Household has given the public something else to buzz about — a job opening to cook for the Queen! The new hire must be ready to work full time, Monday to Sunday for everything from state dinners to staff lunches to receptions. He or she will also have the option to live at the big palace with some salary adjustments, but it’s safe to assume you and the Queen will not have the same accommodations.
(Hope you have a great recipe for crumpets!)

★ Woody Harrelson is an award-winning actor, but he’s also well known for another passion: smoking weed. On “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Tuesday, Harrelson talked about how he actually quit pot for nearly two years, until he “ran into this fella named Willie” (Nelson, of course). After years of trying to get Harrelson back into smoking pot, Nelson finally succeeded after the Harrelson beat him at poker, and Willie handed him a vape pen. Quote: “I take a big draw off it and he says, ‘Welcome home, son.'”

★ It’s been 27 years since their last adventure. And on Tuesday, 53 year-old Keanu Reeves, and 52 year-old and Alex Winter announced they’ll be reprising their roles from “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure” and its sequel “Bogus Journey” for a third installment, called “Bill & Ted Face The Music”.  Apparently the plot revolves around Bill and Ted’s quest to write a great song which will bring peace to the world.  And to do so, some time-travel is required…naturally.  Winter reports that he and Reeves are “Tuning our air guitars”.
(What a bodacious and resplendent development!)

★ “Into The Wild” star Emile Hirsch isn’t pleased these days, because a crazed fan has been sending him and his family disturbing messages. Hirsch received bizarre direct messages from a female fan, including one stating she would kill his child. Additionally, the woman in question acquired the phone number of his father and began bothering him over the telephone. TMZ says that Hirsch was talking with a female fan over social media when suddenly their interaction became aggressive and fueled with hate, but not on his part. He says the ‘fan’ also insinuated that she is a “dangerous (and) obsessed stalker with possible weapons.”

★ Geena Davis’ fourth marriage is headed for divorce.  Her husband, Reza Jarrahy, filed for divorce after nearly 17 years of marriage on Tuesday.  62 year-old Davis and 47 year-old Jarrahy, who wed in 2001, share 13-year-old twin sons and a 16-year-old daughter.

WHO NOSE?
So there’s this thing…and it’s called the ‘liquid nose job’. And it’s all over the internet. What is it? Basically it is a non-surgical nose job. Before-and-after photos show dramatic results thanks to the quick procedure, which makes claims of zero down time and minimal pain at a much lower cost than rhinoplasty. Liquid nose jobs use fillers to “fill areas of structural deficiency in the nose.” They can camouflage imperfections such as a dorsal hump and make your honker appear straight. The results last on average about six months. Sounds great. But here’s the rub: Dr. Cangello of Cangello Plastic Surgery in New York says that filler tends to spread, since it is like a gel as opposed to a solid material. Over time, repeated trauma from injections with a needle causes inflammation, and the filler material itself causes an inflammatory reaction. “The result of inflammation along with the accumulation of filler can lead to thickening of the soft tissue of the nose, which leads to a wider and bulkier appearance over time.” And making the nose appear larger is hardly the desired effect of most patients.
(You know what’s to blame for all of this, don’t you? Selfies.)
(Liquid nose job? Sounds like something the schoolyard bully did to me in third grade!)
(What? You haven’t seen ads for this at all? I see them all the time! Darn targeted marketing!)

DON’T PUT A RING ON IT:
As much as it seems true that society considers it ‘normal’ to settle down with a life partner as a young-ish adult, it seems that those who remain single might know something that the rest of us never figured out…or did when it was too late. Studies show that life is actually more fulfilling for the single crowd. Bella DePaulo, an author, researcher and social psychologist, looked into the subject, and using her own research and that of others, found that people who live alone are often the lifeblood of their cities and towns. They tend to participate in more civic groups and public events, enroll in more art and music classes and go out to dinner more often than people who live with others. They also volunteer more and are more devoted to the arts than people who are married. Oh, and the single ladies were also found to weigh less and drink less than their married counterparts.
(I thought they’d drink more with all those restaurant meals and nights on the town!)
(I don’t know if society sees it as normal to find a life partner right after highschool, but my mother sure does!)

CRAFTY IDEA:
With everyone and their brother opening a craft brewery these days, if you want to be successful, you need to have an angle. And man, THIS is an angle! The newest brewery to jump on the “beer hotel” bandwagon is Maine’s Shipyard Brewing, which is planning to spend $65 million along with an investment group to open what they’re calling a “brewtel.” Plans are for the 105-room hotel to have a taproom in the lobby, a television station devoted to beer, and guests will be able to call the front desk to have a keg delivered to their room to ensure they’re getting the freshest brew possible. No timeline on when it will open, so don’t order that room-keg just yet.
(I’m guessing the room deposit will be slightly higher than average!)
(So…probably no mini-bar in the room?)

COOL GIFTS FOR MOM:
➢ Eco greeting card: You can get cards that are embedded with wildflower seeds that she can plant after reading your sweet Mother’s Day message. (And it probably won’t cost much more than the 9 bucks you’re gonna get dinged for a card anyway!)
➢ Gardening gloves: They make super cute gloves now that Mom will love…and they’ll protect that new manicure. (Or if she’s a Michael Jackson fan…a gardening glove!)
➢ How-to books: There are lots out there that focus on non-chore hobbies, including gardening (gardening AGAIN?), table-setting and decorating. (Which she hopefully won’t be offended by!)
➢ Hand-made soaps: They smell wonderful, and are made with environmentally-friendly products which Mom will appreciate. (Or get her a how-to book on making the stuff!)
➢ Aerating wine glass: This device aerates Mom’s red wine into the glass to make it taste better. (She raised you…she deserves the best tasting wine she can get her hands on!)
➢ Unique kitchen gadgets: Some Moms love to try new recipes. Gadgets like a mandolin, spiralizer or pasta maker will help her expand her repertoire. (And then she can stow it away in the closet for the rest of time, right beside the breadmaker…)
(We surveyed 100 Moms for their thoughts on these gifts, and they were all ranked midway between a diamond necklace and a new vacuum cleaner!)
