BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
A bigscreen version of “Arrested Development” (Fox/Global 2003-06) is a go, according to former star Jeffrey Tambor (no word if Jason Bateman, Portia de Rossi, Will Arnett, and Michael Cera will return in the movie) . . . NBC-TV did some house-cleaning, but “Heroes” continues to struggle, the most recent episode earning the show its lowest rating to date (time to get the ax out?) . . . Actor-writer BJ Novak (‘Ryan Howard’) is taking a leave of absence from “The Office” (NBC/Global) to appear in Quentin Tarantino’s new film “Inglorious Bastards” (sure sign the US economy is in the crapper – layoffs at ‘Dunder Mifflin’!) . . . If ABC-TV pulls the plug on “Pushing Daisies” (as is rumored), creator Bryan Fuller is promising the season’s story arcs will be finished off in a series of comic books and perhaps a movie (dude, if it ain’t working it’s the message not the medium) . . . They may feud on “Gossip Girl” (CW), but Blake Lively says off-screen there’s no drama between her & Leighton Meester, the cast is simply too busy to bicker . . . 42-year-old actress Salma Hayek, who gave birth to daughter Valentina in 2007, says she’s addicted to breast-feeding and can’t stop (volunteers?) . . . According to her (now ex-) publicist, “Cheetah Girls” starlet Adrienne Bailon made up this week’s story that nude pics may have been stolen from her laptop in an attempt to generate publicity, likely because her tour with the manufactured girl group ends December 22nd (hey, it worked for Paris) . . . And a rep for actress Angelina Jolie is categorically denying a report claiming the mom-of-6 is pregnant again (the twins are only 3-months-old – give a girl a break!).

• “Jimmy Kimmel Live” (ABC/CityTV) – TONIGHT T-Pain is onstage.

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Big & Rich – John Rich is being sued by Jerry Montano, the victim of that October beatdown when the country singer allegedly went into a drunken rage in an LA hotel room.
• Billy Joel/Elton John – They’re set to reprise their wildly successful co-headlining concerts beginning in March of next year.
• Foo Fighters – Foodie frontman Dave Grohl is set to make an appearance on “Top Chef” (Bravo) in an episode titled “Foo Fighters’ Thanksgiving”.
• John Mayer – He’s agreed to host a weekly variety show for CBS-TV that’s being fast-tracked to begin in the first quarter of ‘09. It will be a music, variety, and sketch show in the 1960s mold. Ken Ehrlich (who produces the “Emmys” and “Grammys”) will produce the show with Mayer.
• Red Hot Chili Peppers – Anthony Kiedis’ 2004 autobiography “Scar Tissue” is being adapted for a new offbeat TV comedy to air on HBO.
• “Twilight – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack” – The musical companion to the upcoming movie (out next Friday) tops this week’s album chart. It’s the biggest digital album debut for a soundtrack ever.
TODAY’S MOVIE OPENING:
• “Quantum of Solace” ( PG-13 Action Adventure ): Daniel Craig returns in the 22nd ‘Bond’ film, this time avenging the murder of his true love while saving the world from a mad environmentalist. Co-stars Olga Kurylenko (as ‘Camille’); Mathieu Amalric (badguy ‘Dominic Greene’); Judi Dench (‘M’); and Gemma Arterton (‘Strawberry Fields’). Screenings begin at 12:01 am in select theaters. Already the top movie in the UK for 2 weeks. Worst title in the ‘Bond’ franchise?

BS THINGS YOU PROBABLY DON’T KNOW ABOUT ‘JAMES BOND’:
• His name was inspired by an American zoologist, a famed bird expert. The real James Bond wrote the acclaimed book, “Birds Of the West Indies”.
• ‘Bond’ was created during summer vacations. Author Ian Fleming had 2 months off from his newspaper job each year. From 1953-64, he used each of those breaks to write a new book.
• Fleming always vacationed at his Jamaican estate. It’s name? “Goldeneye”.
• In the ‘Bond’ films so far, ‘007′ has a drink every 24.3 minutes. He drinks champagne more than anything (35 glasses) but only 1 beer. In the novels, he drinks a total of 317 alcoholic drinks, 1 every 7 pages.
• There are seven ‘00′ agents but he has the best knack for staying alive. In various movies, we’ve seen the deaths of ‘002′, ‘003′, ‘004′, and ‘009′. Agent ‘006′, believed killed, returns as the villain in “GoldenEye” before he’s disposed of. ‘008′ is mentioned several times as ‘Bond’s replacement should he die or be pulled off a mission.
• American film execs proposed Burt Reynolds and Clint Eastwood for the role of ‘Bond’ in the 1970s. In the 1980s, Mel Gibson was also considered for the role.
• The only Ian Fleming titles left that haven’t been turned into films are “Risico” and “The Hildebrand Rarity”, both short stories.

Britain’s Dr Trudy Barber has told a meeting of the European Federation of Sexology that chocolate may soon be developed which has much higher levels of phenyl ethylamine, a chemical which is released by the body during sex. The chemical is related to dopamine and adrenalin, which help to heighten bodily sensations, and has been found to give an orgasm-like high to test subjects even when they’re not having sex. Today’s chocolate bars already contain up to 660 mg of phenyl ethylamine, but Barber says much more potent chocolate is on the way.
