SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Josh Brolin has become a father for a third time after he and his wife Kathryn Boyd welcomed a baby girl together. The “Deadpool 2” star used a video to announce the birth of Westlyn Reign Brolin – whom they’ve nicknamed ”Bean”.  In the caption, Brolin called the new arrival “a flawless gem through and through.”  Josh already has two adult sons with his first wife Alice Adair.

★ Idris Elba says being named Sexiest Man Alive for 2018 by People magazine has given him a boost of self-confidence. Elba, who starred in “The Wire” and “Luther,” says his first reaction upon being surprised with the news was “Come on, no way. Really?” But then he says he “Looked in the mirror, I checked myself out. I was like, ‘Yeah, you are kind of sexy today.’ But to be honest, it was just a nice feeling…an ego boost for sure.”
-Canoe
★ Hugh Jackman says he was his son’s ”wingman” when the teenager wanted to impress a girl. Oscar, Jackman’s oldest child with wife Deborra-Lee Furness – isn’t usually impressed by his dad’s career but he sought help from his dad when he met someone on a beach. Jackman told ET: ‘He came up to me and he started walking ahead of the girl, and he goes, ‘Dad, Dad, Dad, she’s coming over. I told her you’re Wolverine, just go with it.’ I was like, ‘I am the wingman for my 13-year-old boy.’ ”

★ Pamela Anderson is not a supporter of the #MeToo movement. Anderson said on the Australian “60 Minutes” that while she does consider herself a feminist, she thinks it can go too far.  Quote: “I think that this third wave of feminism is a bore. I think it paralyzes men, I think this #MeToo movement is a bit too much for me…I’ll probably get killed for saying that.” Anderson also brought up the allegations against Harvey Weinstein and said it was “common sense” to avoid those types of “business meetings.”

★ Even though Andrew Lincoln made his last appearance on “The Walking Dead” on Sunday, don’t put a fork in the show just yet.  AMC has signed new deals with stars Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride for the next three seasons.  The actors, who have played fan-favorite characters Daryl and Carol since the first season, will receive significant pay increases, and could potentially move from one Walking Dead property to another, as Lennie James did when he left the main series and joined “Fear the Walking Dead”.

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Mac Miller – The findings of his toxicology tests have been revealed, and the L.A. County Coroner lists his cause of death as “mixed drug toxicity.” Investigators found fentanyl, cocaine and ethanol among the substances in his system.  They also believe that he had been snorting lines off his iPad.
• Taylor Swift — The man suing her over her “SwiftLife” mobile phone app has filed another motion to gain access to her cell phone and laptop, after his initial request was denied.  She is being sued by the owner of a company named SwiftLife, which does computer consulting services. She has filed a motion to dismiss the entire case.
• Pearl Jam – Wanda Crane, the mother of Jeremy Delle, the 16-year-old who took his own life by shooting himself in front of his classmates and inspired the 1992 song ‘Jeremy’, says in a new interview that she was angry with the band for writing the song because the story in the song “is not accurate.”  She also said that “That day that he died did not define his life.  He was a son, a brother, a nephew, a cousin, a grandson. He was a friend. He was talented.”
• The Rolling Stones — sparked speculation that a U.S. tour is about to be announced when their tongue logo appeared at two football stadiums over the weekend. A large banner bearing the logo appeared outside Broncos Stadium in Denver, and it was displayed on scoreboards at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. Cheerleaders there also wore the image. The band’s website featured an invitation to join their mailing list, saying: “Don’t miss out, as you never know what could be coming!”
• George Harrison – once offered to pay £2,000 for Cream’s Ginger Baker’s teenage daughter, she claims.  Ginette ‘Nettie’ Baker, now 57, says her father was allegedly offered money for his then 15-year-old girl at a party hosted by Eric Clapton in 1976 – but turned it down.
• Michael Ray – shows off his rap game in a new cover of Post Malone’s No. 1 single ‘Psycho’.  He tweeted, “I have so much respect for @postmalone & jumped at the chance to cover #psycho.” He recorded it for Spotify Singles.
• Devin Dawson — is extending his current “Stray Off Course” headlining tour. Initially announced as a fall tour in August, shows will now run through February. The tour is named after a line in his next single, ‘Dark Horse’: “I’ll side with the outsiders / Those longshot last-round fighters / Anyone who ain’t afraid to stray off course.”

TOUGH TIME:
If you still feel just a bit off after setting your clock back on the weekend, you’re not alone. Experts say that the end of daylight-saving time — and the fact that it’s now starting to get dark at about 4:30 in the afternoon — can wreak strange havoc on our bodies and minds for days.  One psychologist says some people aren’t affected too badly by the “extra” hour of sleep, with symptoms limited to “general grogginess” or nothing at all, while others “may experience stomach issues like diarrhea” and a general feeling of jetlag.  The worst health risks associated with changing the clocks occur in March: Heart attack incidences jump 25 percent the Monday after we “spring forward”, but Dr. Benjamin Hirsh, director of preventive cardiology at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, Long Island, cautions that sleep-cycle disruption of any kind can precipitate a rise in heart rate and blood pressure that can lead to a heart attack.
(That sounds to me like one more good reason to LEAVE THE CLOCKS ALONE!)
(If that were true, my kids would have been the death of me long ago!)
(No kidding.  I think I’m having one every time the alarm goes off!)

YOU GOUDA BRIE KIDDING:
A Swiss cheesemaker is conducting an experiment to test the impact of music on one of the most famous cheeses in Switzerland.  Beat Wampfler (Yup, that’s his name…) has been blasting his beloved Emmental cheeses with music delivered through small speakers situated directly below his nine open wooden crates full of cheese wheels inside his 19th century cellar.  The playlist?  Everything from Led Zeppelin to hip hop legends A Tribe Called Quest.  Through his project, called “Sonic cheese: experience between sound and gastronomy” – he hopes to show that the power of music can influence the development, characteristics and even flavour of the cheese.  Wampfler says that while bacteria are responsible for the formation of the taste of cheese, he is convinced that humidity, temperature and nutrients aren’t the only things that can influence taste.  He feels that sounds, specifically ultrasounds and music can also have a significant effect. A jury of expert cheese tasters will assess whether there is a hole in his Swiss cheese experiment on March 14.
(Obviously, you want to be playing heavy emmental music…)
(Hey, with cheese, just like music, there is no accounting for bad taste!)
(Well, he’ll certainly never face a shortage of cheesy music!)

THINGS YOU DO THAT DRIVE YOUR BARISTA NUTS:
⇒ You’re totally unprepared:  Baristas appreciate if you spend your waiting time thinking about what you want if there’s a long line.  (You’ve probably had about 15 minutes…try not to give the ‘deer-in-the-headlights’ look when they ask if they can take your order!
⇒You won’t put your phone down:  Give your barista the same courtesy you’d give to anyone else. That means if you’re placing an order, you shouldn’t be chatting on the phone at the same time.
⇒ You don’t have your money ready:  Try to hurry things along by being ready to pay.  No one needs to see you searching your pockets or emptying your purse on the counter when you’ve had plenty of time while in line.
⇒ You think mobile ordering is instant:  Starbucks members can order and pay ahead of time, sending their order to the store while they are on the way there.  But baristas still have to take care of other customers, so your order won’t be ready the moment you place it.
⇒ You decide you don’t like it halfway through:  Choking down one sip before you hand your drink back is one thing, but if you’ve already gulped down half the cup, your barista is not going to appreciate making you a new one.  (People do that?)
⇒ You get impatient waiting for a complicated drink:  There are nine steps involved in making a Frappucino.  Please be patient.  (And when a bus full of frap-drinking school kids shows up, you might as well walk to the next Starbucks!)
(OK, now do you want to know what baristas do to drive ME nuts?  They spell my name wrong.  And they get my order wrong.  And they say “Can I help who’s next?”, which is grammatically incorrect!)
