BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
NYC jeweler Jacob & Co is suing Courtney Love, claiming it loaned her $114,000-worth of borrowed bling on September 21st, of which she’s only returned 1 bracelet (would you lend Courtney Love – anything?) . . . Meantime, Love has reportedly contacted Rolling Stone Keith Richards’ son Marlon to ask him for help with her ‘addictions’ (ok, so much for those missing gems) . . . 28-year-old commoner Kate Middleton is going through ‘princess counseling’ to prepare her for marriage to Prince William (it’s easy, girl – just watch “The Princess Diaries 1 & 2” and do everything Julie Andrews says) . . . Philanthropic actor Leonardo DiCaprio has just donated $1 million for tiger conservation in Russia (they’re even more threatened than the Tigers in Detroit) . . . According to RadarOnline, Charlie Sheen’s ex, Denise Richards, was very interested in the escort he was with the night of his NYC meltdown and she asked her lots of questions about the profession (well the acting roles are drying up) . . . Singer Ricky Martin’s ex-girlfriend Rebecca de Alba is the host of “Project Runway” in Latin America, which is now shooting in Argentina (Ricky Martin has an ex-girlfriend?) . . . “Star” magazine is reporting that 46-year-old actress Sandra Bullock has already filed paperwork to adopt a sibling for her 11-month-old son Louis, said to be a baby girl (she wanted a complete set) . . . And it seems the romance between actress Cameron Diaz & NY Yankee Alex Rodriguez is back on, the twosome spotted sunbathing beside each during a yacht cruise in Miami FL (apparently after a fling with “Glee’s” prancy Matthew Morrison, she was looking for the ‘A-Rod’ again).

TODAY’S SHOW BIZ SKED:
• “Beyoncé’s I Am … World Tour” (ABC) – For the 2nd year-in-a-row she has a prime-time TV special on Thanksgiving night. A DVD of the special comes out tomorrow exclusively via Walmart, then releases everywhere November 30th.

• “Taylor Swift: Speak Now” (NBC) – A 1-hour musical special that takes fans on a whirlwind trip from NYC to LA, with concerts in Central Park, on top of a tour bus, and aboard a cross-country flight, plus footage from the recording studio.

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Avril Lavigne – Her first album in 4 years is coming out in March. The first single, “What The Hell”, will be released in January.
• The Beatles – They’ve sold over 2 million individual songs and more than 450,000 albums worldwide in their first week of release on Apple’s iTunes store. “Abbey Road” is their best-selling digital album; “Here Comes the Sun” the best-selling digital single.
• Black Eyed Peas – will I am says they’re planning their largest tour ever for 2011, in support of their upcoming album “The Beginning” (out November 30th).
• Counting Crows – 46-year-old frontman Adam Duritz & 24-year-old actress Emmy Rossum (“Phantom Of the Opera”) have ended their 1-year relationship, but she insists they’re still ‘very close friends’. (It’s just that she woke up one day and found herself next to … a guy 22 years older!)
• Guns N’ Roses– Axl Rose has just filed a $20-million lawsuit against “Guitar Hero 3” maker Activision, claiming it violated a deal not to include any imagery or mention of ex-guitarist Slash in the popular game. (Whoa, he must really hate him!)
• Keith Urban – His Thanksgiving Day halftime performance at the New Orleans Saints-Dallas Cowboys NFL game will last roughly 7 minutes and will serve as the kick-off for this year’s Salvation Army ‘Red Kettle Campaign’.
• Ke$ha – She tells “Complex” magazine she’s split from her drummer-boyfriend Alex Carapetis, who has previously toured with Nine Inch Nails. Quote: “He had a Keith Richards vibe to him, but then he started acting like a woman … and I just can’t handle that.”
• Kid Rock – He performs “Born Free” during today’s halftime show at the traditional NFL Thanksgiving Day game in Detroit MI, where the Lions take on the New England Patriots.
• Lady Gaga – Anderson Cooper is scheduled to do a “60 Minutes” interview with her, to air in February around the time of the “Grammy Awards”.
• Paul Simon – He’ll release his first album in 5 years in the Spring, according to “Paste” magazine. The Phil Ramone-produced album will be called “So Beautiful or So What”.
• Sheryl Crow – Her 154-acre ‘solar farm’ south of Nashville TN has failed to sell at auction, as it didn’t make the reserve bid. The initial asking price when it was listed for sale … $7.5 million.

COMING ATTRACTIONS:
A BS selection of movies in the making …
• “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” – A bigscreen reboot of the movie-turned-TV series (1997-2003) is in the works for 2012 but it will not include the mastermind behind the character, writer-producer-director Joss Whedon. He’s unhappy about that, as are some of the TV cast who’ve been tweeting displeasure. The show’s star, Sarah Michelle Gellar, has been strangely silent.
• “The Dark Knight Rises” – Actor Christian Bale says the upcoming sequel, opening next July, will be the last time he plays ‘Batman … unless that is, director Christopher Nolan has other plans. Bale previously portrayed the ‘Caped Crusader’ in “Batman Begins” (2005) and “The Dark Knight” (2008). What do you think? Hoping for a “Batman 4”?
• “Ghostbusters 3” – Director Ivan Reitman is set to begin shooting a sequel to the 1980s film comedies next May. Anna Faris (“The House Bunny”) is set to star as one of the new recruits who takes over the spirit-catching business. “Saturday Night Live” comedians Will Forte and Bill Hader are also being considered as part of the new squad.
• “Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story” – Rehab resident Lindsay Lohan has lost the lead role in this upcoming biopic to actress Malin Akerman (“The Watchmen”) . The producers say they dropped her due to insurance problems; she says she quit. So who to believe? The story profiles 1970s adult movie star Linda Lovelace (“Deep Throat”).
• “Lincoln” – Daniel Day-Lewis has signed on to take the lead in director Steven Spielberg’s historical bio-pic about president Abraham Lincoln, replacing Liam Neeson who was originally cast when the movie was first envisioned 9 years ago. The film will be based on historian Doris Kearns Goodwin’s 2005 book “Team of Rivals”. It’s expected to hit screens in 2013.

DECEMBER’S HORRIBLESCOPE:
Astrologers say that, for the first time in years, the tumultuous astrological cycle known as ‘Mercury Retrograde’ falls during this holiday season. This period of supposed upset and confusion starts this (Black) Friday and Saturday, which they say will be doomed by bad deals and under-stocked merchandise. By mid-December, holiday travelers will be hit with bad weather, mechanical errors, and possible terrorist threats. But that’s not the worst of it. The darkest day comes on the Winter Solstice (December 21st), when a Full Moon eclipse will wreak its own special havoc. (So … happy holidays!)

THINGS DOCTORS SECRETLY WISH THEY COULD TELL YOU:
A nationwide survey asks Canadian doctors to vent their feelings and reveal what they’d really like to say to patients. Among the replies …
• If you’re going to be late or miss an appointment, let my office staff know.
• Please wash before you come to see me.
• Tell me what you’re worried about right away, not as you’re about to leave.
• Don’t expect me to read dozens of articles you’ve downloaded from the Internet.
• If you’re taking herbal supplements or over-the-counter drugs, or using alternative therapies, let me know.
• Be honest. If you’re not taking your medication as prescribed, tell me.
• You don’t always need a prescription as part of the treatment for a malady.
• You need to lose weight.

RETRO FASHION:
The ‘70s look is back as slaves to style worldwide are now attempting to embrace their inner ‘hippie chick’. This season’s catwalks in New York and Paris were dominated by the decade’s iconic styles and trends, including maxi dresses, mini-skirts and hot pants, with designers Marc Jacobs and Rebecca Taylor basing entire collections on the stylish ‘70s. One fashion watcher suggests the ‘70s look is one of ‘freedom and expression’, allowing the wearer to feel comfortable and stylish at the same time. (Still got that ‘leisure suit’ in the closet?)

HOW TO WASH YOUR HAIR:
When it comes to shampooing most of us don’t do it correctly, according to hairstylist Frederic Fekkai. His expert tips include …
• Saturate your hair with water before putting in any shampoo. If hair isn’t completely wet to the roots, the shampoo won’t flow through, and hair might look dull or even flaky because of residues.
• Don’t apply all the shampoo to the top of your head. Apply a small amount at the forehead, crown, temples and the nape of the neck.
• When rinsing, begin with warm water and then switch to the coldest water you can bear. The colder the water, the shinier the hair.
• Most people look best if they wash their hair every day.

RECOVERING FROM JET LAG:
The sleepless nights and sleepy afternoons that follow long-haul flights take longer to get over than you might think. Sleep expert Dr Naomi Rogers of Australia’s Woolcock Institute of Medical Research says jet lag can have a big impact on reaction time and alertness, so it may be better to take a cab at the airport and pick up your rental car the following day. She also recommends you allow a full day to recover from jet lag for each time zone crossed; that you begin your daily routine in the new time zone as quickly as possible; and that you avoid alcohol and caffeine during the flight. (If anyone knows anything about jet lag, it would be an Aussie. They’re about 12 hours from … everywhere.)

FOR THE RECORD:
Haidar Taleb, a disabled 47-year-old man from the United Arab Emirates, plans to travel 200 miles (320 km) across all 7 emirates in a solar-powered wheelchair that he designed and built himself. By the time his ambitious trek is completed December 2nd, he will have broken the record for distance traveled in a solar-powered wheelchair, a record he set himself just 2 weeks ago when he cruised over 80 miles (130 km) from Abu Dhabi to Sharjah.

• How long does it take to thaw a fresh turkey?
• Does the turkey go in the oven feet first or head first?
• Can I baste my turkey with suntan lotion?
• Can I cook the turkey on the engine block of my semi while I’m driving?
• I cut my turkey in half with a chainsaw. How do I get the chainsaw oil out of the turkey?
• The turkey in my freezer is 23-years-old. Is it safe to eat?
• Our Chihuahua is stuck inside the turkey … how do we get him out?
