• 69-year-old Paul McCartney reportedly took New York heiress Nancy Shevell (51) as his 3rd wife yesterday at the same London registry office where he married his first wife, Linda, in 1969. About 30 close friends & family were expected for the ceremony; about 100 for a reception in McCartney’s backyard in St John’s Wood, London. A neighbor says McCartney has been rehearsing outdoors over the past week for what he tipped to be ‘the biggest concert of his life’.

• Defying predictions of a cancellation, an estimated 50,000 (24,500 less than capacity) showed for the Michael Jackson-themed “Michael Forever – The Tribute Concert” in Cardiff, Wales on Saturday. Jackson’s 3 kids – Prince (14), Paris (13), and ‘Blanket’ (9) – appeared onstage to briefly address the crowd. Jennifer Hudson pulled out of her performance at the last minute due to ‘major production issues’, joining Black Eyed Peas who previously expressed a similar excuse. Reaction was mixed among those streaming out of Millennium Stadium after the gig, with some complaining about ‘under-rehearsed’ numbers and long gaps between songs.

• 94-year-old Zsa Zsa Gabor, the Hungarian-born actress and celebrity who became a symbol of Hollywood glamor, is in ‘very unstable’ condition at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles after a medical emergency on Saturday. Her husband, the self-styled Frederic Prinz von Anhalt, says ‘it doesn’t look good’. Zsa Zsa is Paris Hilton’s step-great-grandmother, as she was once (briefly) married to hotelier Conrad Hilton.

• To think Nancy Grace’s recent ‘nip-slip’ on “Dancing With the Stars” caused so much controversy! The Argentinean version of the show, “Bailando Por un Sueño” (“Dancing For a Dream”), has just featured … full frontal nudity. A racy performance featured model-reality star Cinthia Fernandez & partner Marcelo Tinelli writhing on the dance floor then stripping off each other’s clothes until they were completely naked. Even the show’s host reportedly looked shocked by the raunchy routine.

• 29-year-old actress Kirsten Dunst (“Spider-Man” moves) has embraced her European roots by becoming a German citizen. The Hollywood actress, whose father is German and mother is Swedish, has relatives in Hamburg and has now made her connection to the country official while still retaining her US citizenship. Dunst tells a German publication: “I’m now a real international lady, one who can film in Europe without a problem.” Aha, there lies the motivation!

• Justin Bieber – Theater impresario Cameron Mackintosh wants him to join the cast of “Les Miserables”. After landing Nick Jonas for the stage revival in London, Mackintosh is aiming high for the Canadian production, which opens next July.
• Hank Williams Jr – His opening theme segment on tonight’s edition of ”Monday Night Football” (ESPN) will be filled by Detroit-based soul singer Jimmy Scott w/The Selected of God Gospel Choir. ESPN dumped Williams last week after he compared president Obama to Hitler during an interview on FOX News. An ESPN spokesman says the “MNF” opening spot will now look different each week. Williams’ “Are You Ready For Some Football?” intro had aired since 1989.
• Ke$ha – She’s joining forces with ‘Baby-G by Casio’ to create a signature line of wristwatches.
• Nirvana – Kurt Cobain’s 19-year-old artist-daughter Frances Bean has plunked down over $1.8 million for her own home in the Hollywood Hills, complete with a studio in the garage. The 1930 home was designed by Carl Jules Weyl, the art director of the classic film “Casablanca”.
• Rascal Flatts – Saturday night they were formally inducted into Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry.
• Snoop Dogg – He’s set to produce & play the ‘father figure’ in an upcoming NBC-TV family comedy written by TV veteran Don Reo (“Two-and-a-Half Men”, “My Wife & Kids”).

MULTI-TASKING BICYCLISTS BANNED:
City council in Chicago, Illinois has approved an ordinance that bars the use of cellphones for talking or texting … while cycling. In 2010 alone, cyclists in Chicago were involved in more than 1,600 crashes, in which 5 people were killed. Many of the incidents were the direct result of cyclists’ attention being diverted by phones. Once councilor claims she’s actually seen people riding and texting with both hands … and she’s not quite sure how they do that. From now on, technology-addicted two-wheelers in Chicago will be required to use a hands-free device or face fines. (Is it the physical act of texting that’s dangerous or the distraction?)

TUB STUNT:
The sport of ‘Extreme Jacuzzing’, involves sitting in a hot tub in the most extreme environments. In the past, the band of daredevils who invented this ‘sport’ has warmed up in a Jacuzzi at the top of an Alpine peak. For their latest stunt, they suspended a Jacuzzi 39 meters (128 feet) below a bridge in Switzerland, dangling 150 m (492 ft) above the ground. The 25 participants rappeled onto the platform to enjoy a breathtaking view, complete with champagne and cake. It took about 2,500 hours to plan the mission and 6 hours to assemble the makeshift hot-tub.

SCHOOL SWIPE:
Washington County School District in Florida has had a problem in the past with inconsistent attendance. After weighing all the options, officials have decided to place finger scanners at a local high school entrance, where incoming students are scanned in each morning. The system will be moved to select school buses for a trial period to determine if that’s an even more efficient way to ensure students are accounted for. The program has been in place for about 2 months and, so far, attendance is up. (If they don’t wanna show up, is it really worth it?)

ILLEGAL HEINZ:
In an effort to promote healthy eating (and to protect traditional French cuisine), the government of France has largely banned ketchup from school and college cafeterias. Agriculture & Food Minister Bruno Le Maire says France must be an example to the world in the quality of its food, starting with its children. Ketchup is still allowed with french fries but putting it on veal or boeuf bourguignon is now a no-no at schools nationwide. Moreover, french fries can be offered only once a week, usually with ‘steak hache’ (burgers). But what happens if students dip their burgers in the ketchup that accompanies their fries? (Beware the food gendarmes!)
