Sweet Sheet!

BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Mark Ruffalo made a blunder at the Tuesday night premiere of ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ in Los Angeles.  He accidentally left his Livestream on as he watched the film, thereby allowing about 2,500 people to  listen in on the stream through the phone in his pocket.  Ruffalo stars in the movie alongside Chris Hemsworth and Cate Blanchett.
(No matter how excited I was about a movie, I’m guessing I couldn’t sit for 2 hours and listen to it through a dude’s jacket while he is chomping on popcorn and talking to his friends!)
-DailyMail
★ CNN has announced that talk show host Andy Cohen will be the replacement for Kathy Griffin for their annual New Year’s Eve broadcast. The ‘Watch What Happens Live’ host and former Bravo development head Cohen will co-host the network’s ‘New Year’s Eve Live’ broadcast from Times Square in New York City with Anderson Cooper this year.  In a press release, Cooper said, “Andy is the life of the party wherever he goes, and what bigger party is there than New Year’s Eve?”

★ Ben Affleck is apologizing for apparently groping former MTV host-turned-actress Hilarie Burton, but he’s also dealing with another, arguably worse video of himself and a female reporter. The incident came to light when the former ‘Total Request Live’ host tweeted, “I didn’t forget” in response to a fan tweeting that Ben “also grabbed Hilarie Burton’s breasts on TRL once. Everyone forgot though” back in 2001. The other video is from 2004 — in which Ben gets a Canadian TV host to sit on his lap while his hands are all over her.
-TMZ
★ Tyrese Gibson has called Dwayne Johnson ”selfish” for delaying the ninth instalment of the ‘Fast and the Furious’ franchise for his own spin-off.  The rapper-and-actor insists he doesn’t have a problem with his ‘Fast and Furious’ co-star but he is upset the ninth instalment of the popular franchise was recently delayed until 2020 because a spin-off movie starring Johnson and Jason Statham is slated for a 2019 release.
(We get that you’re upset.  We also get that no one is going to these movies to see you…)

★ Jenna Dewan Tatum got to relive her ultimate dream for the second time in her life when she reunited with Janet Jackson on stage for her Hollywood Bowl show over the weekend.  Tatum had previously toured with Jackson as a backing dancer more than 15 years ago. Dewan Tatum, the wife of Channing, was part of a contingent of former Janet Jackson dancers who were invited back for a reunion and to perform their old moves to the song ‘Rhythm Nation’.

★ Kristen Bell wants to make sure her children ”pay attention” to their bodies. Bell, who has daughters Lincoln, four, and Delta, two, with her husband Dax Shepard, believes it is important to show them how to ”stay committed” to a strict ”health and fitness” regime, so that they know how to take care of their health when they get older.

WHERE ALL YOUR TIME GOES:
In case you are thinking of spending your whole weekend in your underwear, in bed, ordering delivery and binge-watching that show that you’ve heard is “great”, thanks to the kind people at ‘Binge Clock’ (www.bingeclock.com), you can check with them and find out if you will be able to get through the whole series in a weekend.  In fact, they have a comprehensive database that you can use to check the exactly how much time it takes to watch every episode of any TV show.  The numbers are calculated by skipping intros and credits. Because who it going to watch those over and over?  To give you an idea, it will take you exactly:
• 2 days 15 hours 29.52 minutes to binge watch all of ‘Game of Thrones’.
• 2 days 14 hours to binge watch all of ‘Breaking Bad’.
• 1 day 5 hours to catch up on Veep.
• 4 days and 16 hours to watch all of ‘The Walking Dead’.
(I’m a little ashamed to admit that for me, I need to add the word ‘again’ to each of those…)
(So a little over two weeks for me to watch them all.  No problem.)
(Just over 4½ days for The Walking Dead?  When is the next 5-day weekend?)

WHERE ALL THE REST OF YOUR TIME GOES:
These are the social media apps which are used most often by Americans and the percentage of people who use each app “several times a day”…
☎ Facebook: 53% (Just like the Yankees.  Always right there at the top…)
☎ WhatsApp: 44% (For those too cheap to pay for texting on their phone plan!)
☎ YouTube: 35% (Everyone is a cat-video lover at heart)
☎ Snapchat: 34% (Great.  Do I have to get a Snapchat account now?)
☎ Instagram: 33% (The Insta-whatnow?)
☎ Twitter: 32% (I’m one of the silent majority who has a Twitter account, but I don’t Tweet…)
☎ Tumblr: 25% (Hey!  I’ve heard of this one!)
☎ Reddit: 22% (This is a thing?)
☎ Periscsope: 20% (OK, now you’re just making these up…)
☎ Pinterest: 12%
(Just so you know, if you have access to 5 or more of these, there IS help available.)
-Statista

WHERE YOUR TIME SHOULD BE GOING:
Scientists claim that they have found the tiny change that will make you stop hating exercise.  And it isn’t by avoiding it.  There’s one easy way to make your workouts more enjoyable, without giving up any intensity or time, according to a study in the Journal of Sport & Exercise Psychology.  Researchers had 46 adults do a 15-minute recumbent bike workout.  Some ramped up their intensity during the workout, while the rest started strong and then dialed back. Both had the same amount of time at each intensity (just at opposite times). There was one clear winner when it came to a fun workout. Volunteers who went from vigorous to easy said they enjoyed their workouts more as it went along. On the other hand, those who’d gone from easy to hard felt worse as they exercised.
(For me, the really hard part at the beginning is when I’m trying to get up off the couch…)
(So take it easy for the second half.  If you live that long.)
(I do the same at work.  Go hard when I arrive, and then spend the rest of my time coasting!)
