BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:

★ Sean “Diddy” Combs will soon be facing even more lawsuits from more than 100 new accusers, according to reports. Houston attorney Tony Buzbee held a press conference, where he detailed some of the new accusations against the rapper — which, again, include alleged sexual assault and abuse. Buzbee’s firm says it is pursuing claims from “more than 50 individuals who suffered sexual assault and abuse at the hands of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and his cohorts. This group…include(s) both men and women; many were minors when the abuse occurred.” The new lawsuits are expected to be filed within the next 30 days.

★ Daniel Day-Lewis was spotted back on a film set this week, marking his shocking return to acting. The 67-year-old Oscar winner was photographed looking barely recognizable while driving a motorbike through the streets of Manchester, England, with actor Sean Bean behind him. For the scene, filmed for a new movie called “Avelyn,” Day-Lewis was dressed in an olive-green bomber jacket, black pants, and brown boots. Reps did not respond when contacted for comment on whether this marks his official acting comeback. Day-Lewis has not been in a movie since 2017, when his rep announced he was stepping away from show business.

★ One of the biggest movies of the year will soon be streaming. Tim Burton‘s “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice”, which has taken in more than $374 million at the box office, will be available Oct. 8, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice in 4K Ultra HD will be available to buy digitally for $24.99 on Prime Video, Apple TV and other video-on-demand platforms. The film is also set for release on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD (Steelbook) starting Nov. 19.

★ Great news for “Scream” fans. Neve Campbell and Kevin Williamson revealed on Instagram that the 7th installment of the classic meta-horror franchise will be released by Paramount on Feb. 27, 2026. It was previously announced that Campbell would return to the series as heroine ‘Sidney Prescott’, after stepping out of “Scream VI” in 2023 over a pay dispute. Created by Williamson alongside director Wes Craven, Scream became one of the defining horror series of the 1990s for its satire of slasher film tropes. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/34y36j6z

SHOOTING THE BULL

SPRAY SAFE:
Colds, flu, and COVID – we’re starting to pile up quite a list of medicines and needles needed to fight respiratory infections. But some day soon, you made be able to take care of all 3 with just a simple spray. American scientists have developed PCANS, a nasal spray that they say could shield us from a wide range of airborne threats, from everyday colds to pandemic-causing viruses. It’s a big breakthrough, which, if successful, could also protect us from pneumonia-causing bacteria. The scientists from Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston say that even though vaccines and masks have played a crucial role in combating infections, “We need new ways of protecting ourselves”, and PCANS uses a drug-free formulation which works by trapping respiratory droplets, immobilizing germs, and neutralizing them, preventing infection.
(I’d be happy if the stuff just worked to stop hay fever!)
(My friendly-neighborhood tip for these guys: Don’t call it a vaccine!)

ADULTING:
❑ Some young people who are looking for work are now being very clear about their urgent need for a job, adorning their profiles with a new LinkedIn banner that reads “#Desperate.” The emblem, which serves as a frame around their profile pic, serves as an upfront notification that that person is probably willing to accept almost any position that the viewer might offer. Courtney Summer Myers, who created the emblem, points out that “LinkedIn is a platform that’s made for networking and connecting with people…So if you’re in need, why would you not ask for help?” Her original post launching her LinkedIn banner has garnered more than 400,000 reactions, but with mixed reviews. While some users say they “feel” for those who need to use it, others warn that employers may be wary “about hiring candidates who seem too eager.” (BTW, it’s probably a bad idea to use this approach on your dating profile!)
❑ Some artsy Gen Zs have taken to…decorating the inside of their toilet bowls. Yes, fancying up the facilities with adhesive, flower-shaped discs is becoming a thing with 20-somethings. The TokTok trend, popularized with the #ToiletTalk, comes on the heels of the recent “fridgescaping” fad, which sees fashionistas add things like flowers and framed pictures to their fridges, along with thoughtfully placed groceries. And who can forget the “airport tray atheistic” mania, where travelers neatly unpack their belongings into TSA bins and snap Instagram-worthy pics, before boarding a flight. (Decorating the toilet bowl: The “fountain” of youth?)

CYBER CRYING:

By now, everyone knows that the internet can be a dangerous place. But apparently many of us didn’t clue in to that fact soon enough. A new study has revealed that literally BILLIONS of people have been the target of cybercriminals at some point. The survey found that half of all respondents have fallen victim to a cyberattack or scam. Of 20,000 adults from around the world, 45% said that their personal data, like banking or email info, has been compromised by a hacking attempt or scam. And even though most agree that scams have become more sophisticated due to AI, a horrifyingly low 39% of people said that they believe simply using a username and password is the most secure way to protect your accounts.
(‘Username’… and ‘Password’. That’s 2-factor authentication, isn’t it?)
(Maybe our personal info wouldn’t be all out there if huge companies weren’t getting hacked all the time! Talking to you, Ticketmaster!)

BEST FOODS FOR OKTOBERFEST:
Bavaria’s legendary Oktoberfest continues through October 6. And sure – we know there’s a lot of beer to drink – but what exactly do they eat there? Here are the 5 things you need to try…
☞ Brezeln (Pretzels): This loved pastry is usually the first thing people think of when asked to name an Oktoberfest food. What better way to soak up all that beer than with a giant knot of delicious dough? (Dip ‘em in mustard – or beer!)
☞ Obatzda (German Beer Cheese Dip): Actually, THIS is what you should dip your pretzel in. The flavorful spread is a beer garden classic made with camembert cheese, butter — and beer!
☞ Reibekuchen/Kartoffelpuffer (Potato Pancakes): Another stick-to-your-ribs option. Served fried golden crisp and with a variety of toppings to choose from, including savory with a salad or sweet with apple sauce.
☞ Schnitzel: The SECOND thing people think of, after pretzels. Served breaded and fried, it is traditionally made with veal, but can also feature pork loin, chicken breast, or even fish! (When you’re at Oktoberfest, at a certain point, nothing matters!)
☞ Bratwurst: A bratwurst sausage can be plain, smoked or cheese-flavored, and served whole or cut in slices, with a bun or without. Serving suggestion: Sauerkraut and Bratwurst Balls—2 well-known German foods, rolled into bite-sized balls, breaded and fried. Serve with Bavarian mustard (and beer – of course!)

DID YOU KNOW?
A mother was arrested at Disneyland after allegedly lying about her children’s ages. KLTA News reported that she was arrested at Disney’s California Adventure after failing to show her identification to police officers, who were called after she attempted to bring her 2 kids into the theme park without paying for tickets. Disney theme parks allow children under 3 in for free, with an adult. Videos showing Jessenia Diaz wearing Minnie ears, and shouting while being led away by police in handcuffs went viral on TikTok. When approached by security in regards to the ages of her daughters, she ignored them and kept walking. Police stated that she had done this 4 times in the last 2 months. (Happiest place on Earth?) • “Techies Day”, saluting those who know their way around the technology that is essential to our daily lives. Also, a day when students are encouraged to consider a career in technology. (There are 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who don’t…)
• “Boyfriend Day”. If you have a boyfriend, today is for giving them extra attention and doing all the things they want to do. • “Soft Taco Day”. Soft tacos have their roots in Mexican cuisine, where tortillas have been a staple for centuries. In the 1960s, the ‘soft’ variation of the taco emerged, utilizing a soft flour tortilla instead of a crisp corn tortilla. (Fortunately, it can be equally messy!)
• “Global Smoothie Day”, to inspire people around the world to view the adoption of a nutritious, plant-based smoothie lifestyle as achievable and exciting. (May I please have a Caramel Custard smoothie?)
• “Family TV Show Day”, a time for everyone to gather round the TV for the privilege of learning how wonderful this brand of air freshener and that roll of toilet paper are.
• “Mean Girls Appreciation Day”. Any day is the perfect day to quote “Mean Girls”, but today’s date is particularly noteworthy for fans of the 2004 hit movie. (Things really started to heat up between Aaron Samuels and Cady when he asked her what day it was, and she replied, “It’s October 3rd.”)
