★ Mark Chavez, one of the 2 doctors charged in connection with “Friends” star Matthew Perry’s death, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute ketamine as part of a plea agreement during a court appearance in LA Wednesday. As per the agreement, Chavez formally pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute ketamine to Perry, who died in October due to “acute effects” of the anesthetic and subsequent drowning, according to the LA County Medical Examiner’s Office. He was 54.

★ Andrew Garfield says he’d play ‘’Spider-Man’ again — under a few conditions. He said to Esquire that he’d “100% come back if it was the right thing…if there’s a great concept or something that hasn’t been done before that’s unique and odd and exciting and that you can sink your teeth into.” Garfield, who played the superhero, and his alter-ego ‘Peter Parker’ in 2012’s “The Amazing Spider-Man”, and returned for 2 sequels, said “I love that character, and it brings joy.”

★ Although details of “Yellowstone’s” ending are being kept top secret, there is one part of the final episodes that is public knowledge: Kevin Costner will not reprise his role of family patriarch ‘John Dutton’. What exactly happens to him is unclear, but according to star Kelly Reilly, who plays ‘Beth’, Costner’s absence didn’t change anything about the ending that creator Taylor Sheridan had been working toward from day one. Reilly told EW: “The absence was part of the ending…that was already written into the…story. It was always going to happen, it just happened a little bit differently.” Yellowstone premieres its final season on Nov. 10.

★ “Rugrats” is returning to the big screen. The beloved 1990s animated series from Nickelodeon is getting the live-action treatment from Paramount, with “Pitch Perfect” director Jason Moore on board to direct the new project. He’ll be working from a script by “Saturday Night Live” regular Mikey Day and Streeter Seidell. Paramount describes the feature as a “a live-action CG hybrid,” based on the original series. That means yes, the babies will be CGI. The series has already inspired a number of theatrical films, including 1998’s “The Rugrats Movie,” 2000’s “Rugrats in Paris” and 2003’s “Rugrats Go Wild.”

★ DC Studios has announced the animated movie “Dynamic Duo” – featuring TWO ‘Robins’. The upcoming flick will follow the early days of ‘Dick Grayson’ and ‘Jason Todd’ – two iterations of Batman’s famed sidekick. Directed by Arthur Mintz and co-produced by Matt Reeves, who oversaw “The Batman”, the project won’t be connected to his superhero universe. Reeves called the upcoming movie “an incredibly special and unique Batman and Robin story for families.”

• Olivia Rodrigo — has announced a Netflix concert special. Her “GUTS World Tour” performance from the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles will debut on Oct. 29. • Coldplay – Chris Martin has confirmed that the group’s 12th album will be its last. In an interview promoting the group’s 10th album “Moon Music,” out today, he said: “Less is more…It’s really important that we have that limit.” He pointed to the series of ‘Harry Potter’ books (there are 7) as an example, and musical acts such as The Beatles and Bob Marley, who released about 12 albums each.
• Elton John – At Tuesday’s premiere of his “Never Too Late” doc at the New York Film Fest, he joked about his health concerns over the years, saying: “To be honest with you, there’s not much of me left.” He then went into details, saying: “I don’t have tonsils, adenoids or an appendix. I don’t have a prostate. I don’t have a right hip or a left knee or a right knee…But I’m still here. And I can’t thank you [enough].”
• Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers – To preview the expanded reissue of their 1982 album “Long After Dark” (out Oct. 18), a previously unreleased French television recording of ‘Between Two Worlds’ has been released. • Loverboy — has re-recorded ‘Working for the Weekend’ for a new IHOP commercial – with a slight change. • Jelly Roll – His CMA award was beautifully broken, just like his new album of the same name. • Luke Bryan – has an opinion on why Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” album wasn’t nominated for any CMA Awards. SURVEYS SAY:
❑ Millennials and Gen Z are much more likely to discuss their pay than older workers, according to a study. A survey carried out late last year found that 86% of Gen Zers are open to talking about their salaries, followed by 59% of Millennials. The numbers drop significantly for older workers, with only 40% of Gen X workers and 41% of Baby Boomers willing to discuss the subject. (That’s because if the younger workers ever found out how much the older workers make, there’d be heck to ‘pay’…if you’ll pardon the pun!)
❑ What are your favorite “small pleasures”? According to a survey, Americans’ top 3 ‘simple joys’ are, in order: Waking up after a good night’s sleep, catching up with an old friend (or loved one), and enjoying a cup of coffee. The survey of 2,000 adults found that next on the “joy” list, in order, are: watching their favorite show, the smell of freshly-brewed coffee, hearing their favorite song on the radio, the smell of freshly-baked cookies, and having someone say they were thinking about them. The top-10 was rounded out with waking up to the sun shining, and listening to the rain while sitting inside with a warm drink. (Well, I have to admit that waking up after a good sleep is a whole lot better than NOT waking up after a good sleep!)

NEWS OF THE WEIRD:
➢ Police were called to the local Target in Flagler, Florida after a manager reported a man had walked out of the store without paying for a $539 electric scooter. Before entering the store, deputies spotted a man matching the suspect’s description, assembling the electric scooter on the sidewalk out front — with the product’s open box beside him. According to the arrest affidavit, 28-year-old Patrick Miller admitted to taking the vehicle because he “needed a ride”. (Oh, he DEFINITELY got a ride!)
➢ A man who used a massage gun on his face and eyes had to undergo surgery after – you guessed it – damaging his eyes. Mr. Luo (no last name given), a fitness enthusiast in China, purchased a battery-powered massage gun at the recommendation of a fitness instructor, who told him it would work wonders on his tired muscles. It proved incredibly effective, so the 42-year-old decided to use it on his eyes as well, because they often felt tired and dry. Bad idea. He later told doctors that he set it on “low” and used it on the acupuncture points around his eyes for 5 minutes at a time. But after using the massage gun on his eyes for about a week, his vision became blurry. At hospital, he was diagnosed with lens dislocation and cataracts. (Maybe he should have closed his eyes first!)

Have you ever noticed that the word “internet” is capitalized sometimes? Yeah, don’t do that. The question of whether ‘internet’ deserves an upper-case ‘I’ is controversial. Experts say that using the capital ‘I’ was common in the early days of the Web, especially in technical writing. However, as the internet has become part of our lives, most people now write it with a lowercase ‘i’. Dialect can make a difference, too, as capitalizing ‘Internet’ is more common in American English than British English. Grammer experts agree that while ultimately, it is a matter of preference, why would you give a noun a capital letter — unless you do the same thing for “shoe”? (But stay tuned: In about 5 years, AI will force us to capitalize it – just like any God or ruler!)

In the 18th century, Mexican silver miners used “plugs” or “wads”—paper wrappers with gunpowder fillings—to extract ore, and these were called tacos.
