Don’t Take Any Sheet, Unless It’s Pure Bull!
BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
If you thought 59-year-old Jay Leno looked svelte on his new show’s debut last night, you’re right – he’s lost 12 lbs by running 4 miles-a-day and giving up treats like doughnuts on-the-set (now his chin looks REALLY huge!) . . . A consortium of record companies is suing the “Ellen DeGeneres Show”, claiming producers have violated copyright by playing over a thousand songs without permission, many during the show’s ‘dance over’ segment when Ellen dances from the stage to the interview area through the audience (could turn out to be an expensive bit) . . . 83-year-old “Playboy” founder Hugh Hefner is offering to pay $20,000-a-month in spousal support to his ex, former ‘Playmate Of the Year’ Kimberly Conrad Hefner, which sounds generous except – she’s filed a lawsuit seeking $4-million in cash she maintains she’s owed thanks to a pre-nup (hell hath no fury …) . . . TMZ reports several Jackson family members are questioning why the estate appears to be ‘in the red’, but even so it’s said Michael Jackson’s publishing catalogue (including Beatles tunes) will NOT be sold to pump up the assets (Paul McCartney sighs again) . . . And just about everyone has weighed in on Kanye West’s rude outburst at the expense of Taylor Swift at Sunday’s “MTV Video Awards” but our favorite comment comes from “American Idol” runner-up Adam Lambert: “Kanye needs to chill. He freaks out every year. It ain’t that deep man.”

• 50% of us check our work email … on the weekend.

BED-SHARING BAD FOR YOU:
Couples should consider sleeping apart for the good of their health and relationship, says sleep specialist Dr Neil Stanley of Britain’s University of Surrey. He claims bed-sharing can cause tiffs over snoring and blanket-hogging, which can rob us of precious sleep. One study finds that, on average, couples suffer 50% more sleep disturbances if they share a bed. The modern tradition of the marital bed only began with the Industrial Revolution, when people moving to overcrowded cities found themselves short of living space. Stanley’s recommendation? If you’ve been sleeping together and you both sleep perfectly well, then don’t change. But don’t be afraid to do something different.

THINGS A BURGLAR WON’T TELL YOU:
• Of course I look familiar. I was here just last week cleaning your carpets, installing new roof shingles, or delivering your new refrigerator.
• Yes, I really do look for newspapers piled up on the driveway. And I might leave a pizza flyer in your front door to see how long it takes you to remove it.
• I always knock first. If you answer, I’ll ask for directions somewhere or offer to clean your eavestroughs.
• Do you really think I won’t look in your sock drawer? I always check dresser drawers, the bedside table, and the medicine cabinet.
• Here’s a helpful hint: I almost never go into kids’ rooms.
• You’re right: I won’t have enough time to break into that safe where you keep your valuables. But if it’s not bolted down, I’ll take it with me.
• A loud TV or radio can be a better deterrent than the best alarm system.

CLEARLY SEXY:
As part of the popular “Body Worlds” exhibitions, German anatomists Gunther von Hagens & wife Angelina Whalley are planning a new show dedicated solely to showing … dead bodies having sex. Corpses in their exhibitions are prepared using a technique invented by von Hagens called ‘plastination’, which removes water from specimens and preserves them with silicon rubber or epoxy resin. The intent of the new exhibit is not to show sexual poses but the anatomy and function of lovemaking. “Body Worlds” exhibitions, visited by 27 million people around-the-world, have previously been criticized for presenting entire corpses, stripped of skin to reveal the muscles and organs underneath.
