We’re Bullish on Radio!
BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Saturday Night Live’s Pete Davidson took offense to disparaging comments Chevy Chase made about the current version of SNL. Chase said that the show went “downhill” after its first two years on the air. In an interview Davidson shot back, saying, “He’s just a genuinely bad, racist person and I don’t like him. He’s a putz. It’s disrespectful to Lorne (Michaels) too, a guy who gave you a career.”

★ Survivors ready? It’s been 18 long years, but, Canadians will soon be able to hear that iconic phrase in person as they compete for the coveted million dollar prize, because for the first time ever, Canucks are eligible to compete on “Survivor”. CBS unveiled the news on Wednesday, and Canadians are now able to apply to compete on Survivor 39 and Survivor 40, with tapings to begin in Fiji in mid-March and early July.
(Make it January, and I’ll be there…)

★ Funnyman Jack Black is wading into darker territory by playing a heavy drinker in his new film, “Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far on Foot”. In an interview, Black spoke about his own past struggle with substance abuse, saying bluntly: “I’m very fortunate to still be alive. I have experience in the world of addiction.” Black also sad that alcoholism is in his family “so I know personally what that is about and I myself also struggled.”

★ The Roseanne cast has added a ‘Natural Born Killer’ to its ranks for the sitcom’s spin-off. Juliette Lewis will join “The Conners” gang. Lewis has landed a guest-starring role as the girlfriend of Johnny Galecki’s character, David. The casting is a little odd because the two former child stars played brother and sister in the classic 1989 comedy “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation”.

SO MUCH FOR ALCOHOL’S STERILIZING EFFECT:
One thing you can count on when young adults get together is that there will be drinking. And beer pong. Clemson University recently conducted a survey examining bacteria levels on beer pong balls. The results? Beer pong is disgusting. Researchers found that beer pong balls being used in an outdoor game had the most bacteria — to the tune of 3 million of the tiny organisms. A ball being used in a game played on carpet only had 200 bacteria on it. One of the research team members said, “Ninety percent of bacteria are probably harmless, but by virtue of sheer numbers, you’re taking a chance of getting sick.”
(Actually, if you drink like these guys do, you’re taking a chance of getting sick anyway!)
(Oh, well. Who’s up for a game of “Lets throw balls at cups filled with water while drinking beer”?)
(And I thought the most disgusting part about playing beer pong was the seedy joints that I’ve played it in…)

TOO STUPID FOR US TO MAKE UP:
→ A Portland, OR woman who was arrested after allegedly stealing an unoccupied ambulance and leading a nearly 30-mile police chase said she “wasn’t trying to hurt anyone.” Police say she stole the ambulance while EMTs were giving a person CPR nearby. She did not pull over when the first police car started chasing. Instead, she drove the ambulance onto a highway with the emergency lights on. She reached speeds of 80-85 miles per hour, swerving between lanes and passing semi-trucks, before being stopped by a spike belt. On the way to jail, she asked an officer, “Why did they leave it unlocked? The police car was locked.”
(I’m guessing that when she took off in the ambulance, no one thought to call 911?)
-WISHTV
→ Georgia police are searching for a breakfast bandit. The bold thief has been targeting Dalton hotels and stealing from empty rooms and breakfast bars. Police say in the first theft, a man stole plastic silverware, shampoo and towels from recently vacated hotel rooms. He then proceeded to help himself at the breakfast bar, at the hotel, which is known to have a particularly extensive morning buffet. The same man is believed to have hit two other neighboring hotels over the next two mornings, sneaking into unoccupied rooms over the course of an hour before hotel employees approached him.
(And you’re telling me you’ve never thought of doing that?)
-WRCB
→ Ontario police say they had to rescue a naked Trenton man after he entered a storm drain on a bet. Police say the 24-year-old told them that his friends had left the area after he entered the storm drain naked – and they took all his clothes with them. He was removed from the drainage system without injury and was charged with being intoxicated in a public place and trespassing.
(His friends took his clothes? He wasn’t betting on THAT!)
