BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Steve Carell recreated his famous ‘Kelly Clarkson’ yell for the singer’s new talk show on Monday. Carell, who yelled out Clarkson’s name during an infamous waxing scene in 2005 comedy “The 40-Year-Old Virgin”, appeared at the beginning of her new show. Clarkson said, “Thank you so much Steve…Literally, when I signed onto this show, I was like, ‘Is it possible to get him to shout my name on the very first episode?’ And it happened.”

★ “Friends” diehards who have always wanted a chance to belt out a rendition of ‘Smelly Cat’ or splash around the fountain from the opening credits, will finally get their chance. The Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood has announced a special holiday-themed event titled, “Friendsgiving.” The special tour is being offered in celebration of the iconic TV series’ 25th anniversary and will feature a 90-minute “Friends-focused” tour through Warner Bros studio backlots, where the show was taped, including a chance to walk onto the actual Central Perk set, and sit on the legendary orange couch while getting an “up-close look at original costumes worn by the cast. ★ Helena Bonham Carter reportedly received permission from Princess Margaret to play her in “The Crown.” The thing is, Princess Margaret died in 2002. A source says that Bonham Carter got in touch with the late royal via a medium. She takes on the part of the Princess Royal in the upcoming third season of the Netflix show — taking over from Vanessa Kirby, who portrayed Margaret in her younger years. Reportedly, Bonham Carter also received a few tips from the late royal, including how to use her cigarette and cigarette holder to express herself, as Margaret did in real life.

★ Shia LaBeouf says he is in a ”way better place” with his father now. He was forced to watch his dad Jeffrey LaBeouf battle with drugs and alcohol addiction as he was growing up – which understandably led to them having a strained relationship. Shia has had his fair share of issues in the past, including a 2017 arrest for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness at a hotel in Georgia. He went on to check into rehab and penned the script for “Honey Boy”, which was loosely based on his relationship with his father, while he was receiving treatment.

MEATING PLACE:
A supermarket chain in Finland is experimenting with a new kind of happy hour. In an effort to reduce food waste, all 900 S-Market stores in the country are knocking 60% of the price of their already-reduced meat and fish at 9 o’clock each evening. It results in a win-win-win situation where customers can get super-cheap food, the retailer doesn’t have to pay for disposal, the environment benefits because there is less waste produced. One executive of the company says that they call it ‘Happy hour’ in the hopes of drawing regulars, “Like any decent bar”. A recent UN report stated that a shocking one-third of food produced for human consumption never gets eaten.
(Are you as shocked as me that under normal circumstances, a supermarket would simply “throw out” perfectly good food that could be given to the needy somewhere?)
(I’m pretty sure I’ve never been in a situation where I could be described as ‘happy’ while in a grocery store, but 60 per cent off on steaks just might do it!)
(I’m not sure, when I’m cooking, if that counts as “produced for human consumption” or not…!)

ALL-MORNING BREAKFAST:
Breakfast can be a wonderful thing, but if you’re in a rush to get to work or school, sometimes you end up just grabbing something quick, and then an hour or two later, you realize you’re never going to make it to lunch unless you have “a little something.” Apparently, that’s a fairly common thing, because 62% of survey respondents say that “Second Breakfast” should be a thing. The question was put to 1,000 Americans, and it turns out that the average American already enjoys a Second Breakfast at least once a week, and thinks that it should be officially recognized as a meal. The study, commissioned by Dave’s Killer Bread, also found that 34% of Americans say breakfast foods are their favorite. By the way, 28% also consider donuts to be a breakfast food.
(So are ribs, if you have some left over!)
(Thanks to the drive-thru, I’ve had Second Breakfast before even getting to work!)
(Do I need to explain the words “break” and “fast” and explain why the phrase “Second Breakfast” doesn’t make any sense?)

DID YOU KNOW?
A ten-year-old mattress weighs double what it did when it was new due to debris that it absorbs over time. That debris includes dust mites (their droppings and decaying bodies), mold, millions of dead skin cells, dandruff, animal and human hair, secretions, excretions, lint, pollen, dust, soil, sand, and a lot of perspiration, which the average person loses at a rate of a quart a day. (Good night!)

“BAD” HABITS THAT ARE ACTUALY GOOD FOR YOU:
☞ Skipping the gym: If you didn’t get enough sleep, you are sore, or stressed by other factors, it is probably healthier to skip it. Resting is crucial for making healthy habits stick. (Perfect. Because I NEVER seem to get enough sleep!)
☞ Eating fatty foods: The American Heart Association recommends eating larger amounts of unsaturated fats than saturated fats. Unsaturated fats come from foods such as nuts, seeds, olive oil, salmon and avocado. While some high-fat foods may not be great for you, eating fat from a variety of sources is important.
☞ Sleeping in: Doing it every day isn’t a great idea, since getting too much sleep can actually be bad for you. But if you’re feeling sleep-deprived, go ahead and catch up on your ZZZs. (Now that you’re rested enough to hit the gym, it’s too late!)
☞ Drinking coffee: There are plenty of reasons to drink coffee every day, including the fact that coffee contains antioxidants. And there may not even be such a thing as drinking too much — studies have shown that even those who drink up to eight cups of coffee per day may be healthier for it. (Although they may chew their nails down to their elbows…)
☞ Chewing gum: It could be beneficial for reducing stress and improving memory. Researchers found that stress levels lowered and alertness improved when workers were given gum to chew. Chewing gum was also found to improve both short-term and long-term memory.
☞ Going out to eat: Yes, you may eat way too much, but our social life plays a huge role in health outcomes. Isolating yourself from social events affects your mental health and your longevity. Go out with friends and eat, and enjoy treating yourself to quality restaurant food. (By quality, do they mean “With forks”?
☞ Complaining: Sometimes, it’s important to just let it out. Complaining can help to relieve stress and alleviate the negative effects of stress on your body. A study showed that those who complain actually have higher self-esteem than those who bottle things up. (And just think what it does to the self-esteem of those that you complain to!)
☞ Wasting time: It’s impossible to be productive all of the time. Take some time and neglect your responsibilities — be as unproductive as you please. Doing so allows your brain to truly have time to rest and recover, preventing burnout and improving your productivity later on. (another reason to listen to this show!)
