Bullseye!

BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ After months of rumors about whether Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner are dating, the pair seemingly confirmed their relationship by appearing together at Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour concert on Monday night. Photos of Jenner and the “Dune” star surfaced online after fans spotted them watching Bey perform at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. Chalamet and Jenner are rumored to have met at Paris Fashion Week in January. In April, it was reported they were dating. Shortly after that, photographs of Jenner leaving Chalamet’s Beverly Hills home also surfaced online.

★ Christine Baumgartner has found herself some luxurious digs — despite the fact she doesn’t think they’re up to par. Kevin Costner’s estranged wife has moved into a $40,000-a-month rental home in Montecito CA, after losing her bid for increased child support. The 4-bedroom property sits on an acre of land and features a pool, jacuzzi and manicured gardens, and it leads to wooded hiking trails. During her court testimony, Baumgartner complained that the rental is not comparable to Costner’s waterfront estate, to which she and their kids have grown accustomed. The move came around the same time that a judge reduced the amount Costner was obligated to pay her in child support — from $129,000 to $63,000 monthly. That came after she had asked the judge to increase payments to $161,000.

★ Kristin Chenoweth and Josh Bryant are married! The 55-year-old Tony Award-winner and her musician husband, who is 41, tied the knot in a wedding on Sept. 2 in Dallas. In attendance at the 140-guest ceremony, held at a private residence, were many of the couple’s famous friends, including David Foster, Katharine McPhee, Kathy Najimy, Kenny Ortega, Chely Wright, Jennifer Aspen, and Broadway composer Andrew Lippa.

★ Priscilla Presley is once again denying she and Elvis Presley were intimate while she was a minor — this amid a new movie that spotlights their relationship. The ex-wife of the late icon was front and center during a press conference at the Venice Film Festival, just before Sofia Coppola’s new film — “Priscilla” — was screened. During a Q&A, Priscilla admitted that they first met when she was 14 and Elvis was 24, but claimed their relationship was rooted in mutual respect. She said what made Elvis drawn to her was the fact she would listen to him and let him pour his heart to her. Quote: “People think, ‘Oh, it was sex.’ No, it wasn’t. I never had sex with him. He was very kind, very soft, very loving, but he also respected the fact I was only 14 years old.”

★ The 6th and final season of “The Crown” will feature Prince Charles (now King Charles III) getting married to Camilla Parker-Bowles. Netflix teased the storyline, posting a pic of an order of service from the royal wedding, which took place in 2005. The teaser confirms that The Crown‘s final season will feature Charles grieving the death of Princess Diana in 1997 and later moving on to his second wife, the now Queen Camilla. The Crown producers have promised that Diana’s death will be handled with care in the early episodes of Season 6. LINK: http://tinyurl.com/3ucyd6p2

★ 77-year-old Cher says she has no plans to cut her hair or stop wearing jeans as she ages. On “Good Morning Britain”, the fashion icon announced: “I just can’t believe I will be 80 at some point, sooner than I wish…And I will still be doing the same stuff I’ve always done.” Cher credited her “pretty amazing” genes with keeping her looking youthful. Quote: “I don’t know if not feeling old makes you younger. I’m not sure. I keep up with the trends.”

• Olivia Rodrigo – commented on fan speculation that ‘Vampire’ is about…Taylor Swift. Quote: “I never want to say who any of my songs are about…I think it’s better to not pigeonhole a song to being about this one thing.” The former friends’ relationship reportedly soured after Rodrigo was forced to give Swift songwriting credits for 2 tines on her debut album.
• Mariah Carey – Tweeted “Not Yet!” after an early spike in Spotify streams of her of her perennial holiday hit ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’. She added: “I’ll allow it for my Filipino lambs though. I don’t make the rules!” The Philippines celebrates Christmas season beginning in September. LINK: http://tinyurl.com/yuma6ead
• Rolling Stones – Full details of “Hackney Diamonds”, their first album of new material since 2005, will be announced today at an event in the Hackney district of London. • Zach Bryan — has scored his first ever #1 on the Billboard 200, with his new self-titled album debuting at the top of the all-genre chart this week. He tweeted: “I love you guys and I appreciate you. This has been an unbelievable year” LINK: http://tinyurl.com/4em3s2wc

Not only that, ‘Fast Car’ has moved up to #2, making Combs the first artist to hold the top 2 positions on the chart since the list launched in 1990. The ‘sort-of’ exception is in 2014, when Luke Bryan’s ‘Play It Again’ was at #1, and Florida Georgia Line’s ‘This Is How We Roll’ ft. Bryan, placed at #2.

SHOOTING THE BULL

OPEN UP AND SAY “A.I.”:
Why not – it seems to know just about everything else. Artificial intelligence (AI) can now be used to predict how healthy you will be later in life — at the press of a button. Researchers from Edith Cowan University in Australia have created AI software that can quickly analyze bone density scans to predict the risk of future health conditions, including cardiovascular diseases and dementia. It does this by detecting a buildup within the abdominal aorta’s walls that can indicate a person’s risk of heart attacks, strokes, falls, fractures, and late-life dementia. The new software can analyze roughly 60,000 images in just a day. Researchers say this development may lead to new approaches for early cardiovascular disease detection and disease monitoring.
(This is great and all…but has anyone thought to ask AI if it has any ideas on how to put out a forest fire?)
(Call me crazy, but for some reason, I’m uncomfortable having a computer in charge of deciding how much longer I have to live!)

MANRATTEN:
There must be a whole bunch of more interesting things to do in New York City than THIS. As the city deals with a major rat problem (sightings doubled last year, prompting the mayor to advertise for a “somewhat bloodthirsty” head rat-catcher), the rodent issue is, to some, New York’s latest must-visit attraction, believe it or not. Some tour guides are now selling tours to notoriously rat- infested sites. That’s right – this means that rat tourism is fast becoming a boom industry. The new fad was started by New York resident Kenny Bollwerk, who began uploading videos of rats running around the city to his TikTok account, and even live-streamed the vermin in action. The stream became a hit, with over 10,000 viewers watching, and soon Bollwerk began receiving inquiries from tourists arriving in New York who asked that he take them to see the city’s rat hotbeds for themselves.
(Weird. When I go on vacation, I want to get OUT of the rat race!)
(Lovely. New York rats have gone viral. We can only hope they’re not contagious…)

GEN ZZZZZ:
According to a new survey, Gen Z prioritizes sleep more than previous generations – but tends to fall asleep while using their phones. The poll of 2,000 US adults of all ages found that 68% of Gen Z regularly falls asleep with phone in hand, and 47% doze off in the clothing they are wearing. Other fun findings in the survey, which included adults of all ages:
• The top things people think about to get a good night’s sleep are their favorite moments of the past day (45%), their partner or family (44%), and work (36%).
• Gen X is the least likely to fall asleep with their phone (25%).
• 22% of Gen Z turns on a fan as part of their nighttime routine – and 21% put on a sleep mask.
• 36% of millennials take showers or baths before bed.
• 38% of people describe themselves as early birds, and 22% say they are night owls.
(Just a thought here, but maybe they wouldn’t NEED to turn on a fan if they put their darn phone down long enough to take their clothing off before bed!)
(Some people think about WORK in order to fall asleep? Well, I guess if you have your “dream job”…!)

EMERGING EMERG STORIES:
Have you ever had to go to the Emergency Room for a very unexpected – or embarrassing reason? So have these people. The BuzzFeed community was asked for their stories – and they delivered . . .
⇒ “I broke my foot doing the ‘putting on skinny jeans’ dance-and-jump like a true former emo kid. The woman taking my X-rays told me I had to come up with a better story.”
⇒ “I was in the ER last week for spraining my wrist while opening a lollipop.”
⇒ “One time, I was making a birthday gift for my brother and was using super glue. While I was squeezing the tube, some shot out at my eye and I had to go to the ER to get it cleaned, which they did immediately — but then I had to wait 7 hours for an exam.”
⇒ “I sent my poor husband to the ER when he tickled me and I stuck my hand out in self-defense, unfortunately scratching his cornea with my fingernail. The doctor who treated him very seriously asked him if he was being abused.”
⇒ “My now-husband took me to the ER at midnight because I was crying hysterically and having a panic attack because a ladybug got stuck inside my ear. Spoiler alert: There was no ladybug in my ear.”
⇒ “I went to the ER with the sharpest, most excruciating pain in my abdomen. I had blood drawn, gave a urine sample, and even had an ultrasound — only to be told I was just very constipated.”

DID YOU KNOW?
Scientists say they have been able to re-create what mummies smell like. The journal Scientific Reports says they managed to identify and re-create the scent of a tincture used in the mummification of a noblewoman of ancient Egypt circa 1450 BCE. The not-so-gnarly balm was made of “beeswax, plant oil, fats, bitumen, Pinaceae resins, a balsamic substance, and dammar or Pistacia tree resin”. The smell of the ancient figure is re-engineered and will be on display in the Moesgaard Museum in Denmark this fall, labelled “the scent of the eternity.”
