THINK BEFORE YOU INK?
People with visible tattoos are more impulsive and reckless than those without ink, according to a study. The study of 1,000 people, conducted in an effort at determining why tattoos have become so popular, involved a monetary test that offered a greater payday for the contestant if they waited longer to cash out. Non-tattooed participants realized earlier in the game the exact strategy needed to earn the most money. The study also found that tattooed participants answered a simple logic question impulsively. Researchers pointed out that the traits found in people with tattoos are not always a bad thing, as some careers require one to make decisions fast or by instinct, such as in professional sports.
(They’re right. Getting a tattoo is a very impulsive and reckless thing to do. Especially if you have a father like mine!)
(Why don’t I have tattoos? It’s not that I’m all logical and practical and stuff…it’s just that I’m cheap!)
(I’ve already got something on my body that I regret and can’t get rid of. My beer belly!)

NEWS OF THE WEIRD:
➢ A British ex-soldier infuriated the mayor of a French Alps town when he attempted to scale Mont Blanc with a 700-pound rowing machine — and then left the bulky device behind when the weather worsened. Matthew Disney, an “elite fitness enthusiast”, had announced that he would attempt to ascend Western Europe’s highest mountain with the machine, and then row its height — about 15,780 feet — on Aug. 30. But he was forced to dump the machine a few hundred yards below the summit. The local mayor, Jean Marc-Peillex, blasted him, writing that “Wackos continue to pollute” access to the mountain. Disney says he plans to retrieve the machine. (Why? Because it’s there.)
➢ Ontario police say a motorist drove away from court after having his licence suspended for drunk driving. An officer who watched the sentencing says he witnessed the accused get into his car and drive away just five minutes after losing his driving privileges. The officer stopped the man and arrested him, impounding his car for 45 days. He’ll be back in court at the end of the month. (He’ll need a really good lawyer if he plans to plead “Not guilty”!)
➢ A Nebraska bride didn’t exactly know what she was getting herself into when she told her bridesmaids they could wear anything to the wedding. Her sister and maid of honor, Christina Meador, took “anything” quite literally and donned a dinosaur costume for the big day. Meador posted a photo to Facebook, showing herself in full Tyrannosaurus Rex mode, holding a flower bouquet and standing by her big sister Deanna Adams. Naturally, it has gone viral. Big sis didn’t mind a bit, later responding to a critic that, “My sister is awesome and I genuinely was not kidding when I said she could wear whatever she wanted.” (We’ve all heard of a Bridezilla, but a Maid-a-saurus?)
