BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Today “Love Song To the Earth”, a song aiming to bring further attention to the issue of climate change, receives wide release after being limited exclusively to iTunes and Apple Music for the past week. An all-star lineup of musicians has joined together to record the tune, including Paul McCartney, Jon Bon Jovi, Sheryl Crow, Fergie, Natasha Bedingfield, Leona Lewis, Sean Paul and many other artists from around-the-world.

★ Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton says he’s officially single after reportedly dating Rihanna. The Brit racing star who’s been spotted on several occasions with the “Four Five Seconds” singer has apparently cooled the relationship. While he doesn’t name RiRi personally he does say he’s not bothered about being romantically linked to beautiful women … as long as they’re beautiful. Quote: ”I’m a free spirit so I’m just going in with no plans to settle down any time soon. I’m going to focus on my career.”
– “The Sun”
★ And after more than 500 performances “Hedwig & The Angry Inch” is packing up her heels and leaving Broadway after Sunday night’s final performance. Taye Diggs is the latest actor to take on the role of the transgender heroine ‘Hedwig’, the part that won Neil Patrick Harris a Tony for ‘Best Performance By a Leading Actor’ last year. The beloved rock musical won acclaim off-Broadway in 1998, then opened on the Great White Way in Spring of 2014 to rave reviews. It has collected 4 Tony Awards in total. Also closing this weekend – “Mamma Mia!”, the 8th longest-running Broadway musical of all-time.

A DEFINITIVE RANKING OF BREAKFASTS:
Based on nothing more scientific than personal preference …
10. Croissants – Basically a crescent of butter … on which you spread more butter.
9. Porridge – But do it right with steel-cut oats from Ireland and fresh fruit.
8. Yoghurt w/Fruit & Oats – At least it makes you feel good about yourself the rest of the day.
7. Waffle – Top it off with walnuts, sliced banana and – if you can find it – sugar cane syrup.
6. Crêpes – You can put anything in them, then roll ’em up. Best is simply butter & sugar.
5. Pancakes w/Syrup – Real pure maple syrup, not that fake stuff from Aunt what’s-her-name.
4. Omelette – You can put anything in it, then fold it over. Best is sharp cheese & ham.
3. Bacon & Honey Sandwich – The best hangover breakfast … salty, sweet, and satisfying.
2. Huevos Rancheros – Fried eggs on corn tortillas topped with chili sauce … and a jalapeño.
1. Eggs Benedict – Poached eggs, topped with ham, served on toasted English muffins, and slathered in Hollandaise sauce … made of even more egg-yolks and butter. Bring it!

A BOOK THAT PUTS YOUR KID TO SLEEP IN MINUTES:
“The Rabbit Who Wants to Fall Asleep” by Swedish author & behavioral psychologist Carl-Johan Forssén Ehrlin promises to have your child snoozing in no time. Translated from Swedish into English, the book confidently claims “I can make anyone fall asleep” right on its cover and has garnered enough of a reputation for delivering on that promise that it’s currently sitting atop Amazon’s ‘Best Sellers’ list, the first self-published book to do so. In rave reviews dozens of parents recount how their children miraculously fell asleep before they’d even finished reading the book to them. On the other hand, it’s also been trashed as “a complete and utter waste of money”. (The paperback goes for circa $40. Chloroform is far cheaper.)

10 POPULAR MYTHS BUSTED:
Some common beliefs set on their ear …
✗ Salt makes water boil faster. Although chefs everywhere seem to swear by it, this is scientifically impossible. Salt raises the boiling point of water, which means that it actually takes longer to boil.
✗ You have to wait 24 hours to report a missing person. This is dangerously false. You can report a missing person at any point.
✗ You sense different tastes on different parts of your tongue. You actually sense all the tastes on all parts of your tongue.
✗ Vaccines cause autism. This is a widespread myth that originated due to fraudulent research that has been shown to have been manipulated.
✗ Dogs sweat by salivating. While they do regulate their temperature by panting, they sweat through their paws.
✗ Sugar causes hyperactivity in children. Numerous studies have now shown that it simply isn’t true.
✗ Frankenstein was the name of the monster in the book “Frankenstein”. Wrong. It was actually the name of the monster’s creator.
✗ The Moon has a dark side. It has a far side, but not a dark side. And the far side positioned away from Earth is still exposed to the Sun all the same.
✗ Vitamin C cures colds. It certainly helps you stay healthy but it won’t cure your cold any more than brushing your teeth will fix your cavities.
✗ Sushi means ‘raw fish’. It actually translates as … ‘sour tasting’.
