Leo now joins an illustrations group who promote the work of the UN, which includes Charlize Theron, Edward Norton, George Clooney, Michael Douglas, and Stevie Wonder.

★ Hollywood’s hottest couple are officially parents! 33-year-old Ryan Gosling & 40-year-old Eva Mendes have quietly welcomed a new baby daughter, born this past Friday in Los Angeles. News first surfaced of Mendes’ pregnancy back in July. The twosome co-starred as parents in 2013’s “The Place Beyond the Pines”, the movie set on which they met. Word has it both dissolved into tears upon the first sight of their new daughter. (No word so far on a name for the new addition. Ideas, anyone?)

★ And after spending years looking for his dream-house, 44-year-old Sean ‘P Diddy’ Combs has a new $40-million mansion in the Holmby Hills area of Los Angeles. The sprawling 17,000-sq-ft European-style villa was built just 6 months ago. It boasts 8 bedrooms, a cinema, wine cellar, gym, and lagoon-style pool with underwater tunnel leading to a grotto. There’s also a 3,000-sq-ft guesthouse and a separate spa house. The extravagant purchase comes just 3 months after Dr Dre splashed out $40 million on the nearby Brentwood property formerly owned by model Gisele Bundchen and NFLer Tom Brady. (A case of keeping up with the Dre?)

• Jay Z – His lawyers have asked court officials to dismiss a copyright infringement lawsuit filed against him over the use of a single syllable in his “Run This Town” collaboration with Rihanna.

Rihanna has tweeted: “CBS you pulled my song last week, now you wanna slide it back in this Thursday?” We’ll see tonight.
• Sammy Hagar – The 25th anniversary of the rocker’s annual birthday bash in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico has had to be axed after Hurricane Odile hit his Cabo Wabo Cantina bar and flooded it. The Category 3 storm has ravaged the area, also flooding and closing the airport.

COMING ATTRACTIONS:
A BS selection of movies in the making …
• “Ben-Hur” – “Boardwalk Empire” actor Jack Huston is in talks to fill Charlton Heston’s sandals in this upcoming remake of the 1959 film. Morgan Freeman has been previously announced to co-star as ‘Ildarin’, who teaches ‘Ben-Hur’ how to race chariots. Filming is set to begin in Europe next year. The original film won 11 Oscars, including ‘Best Picture’.
• “I Know What You Did Last Summer” – A remake of the hit 1997 horror movie is in the works. The first film, starring Jennifer Love Hewitt & Sarah Michelle Gellar, spawned the sequel “I Still Know What You Did Last Summer” in 1998. Sony Pictures is said to be aiming for a 2016 release for the reboot.
• ‘Jason Bourne Sequel’ – 43-year-old actor Matt Damon & director Paul Greengrass are in talks with Universal about reuniting for a 3rd movie together in the ‘Bourne’ franchise. Damon starred as ‘Bourne’ in 2002, ’04, and ’07 films, the last 2 directed by Greengrass. Should the deal come about, the next ‘Bourne’ spinoff starring Jeremy Renner would be postponed.
• “Paper Towns” – 22-year-old British model Cara Delevingne is set to play the lead role of ‘Margo’ in the upcoming screen adaptation of John Green’s novel about a pair of young neighbors who embark on a campaign of revenge. Green also wrote “The Fault In Our Stars”. Delevingne will co-star with 19-year-old actor Nat Wolff. It’s her first lead role in a feature film.

WILL IT BE AYE OR NAE?
Today’s the big referendum in Scotland which will decide whether it secedes from the United Kingdom to become its own independent country. With recent polls showing the vote too close to call, today’s outcome is a toss-up. There’s said to be ‘great concern’ at Buckingham Palace over the possible break-up of the 300-year-old Union. Queen Elizabeth is thought to be strongly in favor of Scotland remaining in UK but her mandate requires her to remain a-political. However, she is staying in Scotland at her Balmoral Castle during today’s vote as a sign of ‘continuity’. She’s issued a statement advising voters to ‘think very carefully about the future’. (See Bull’s Bits below.)

ODD ATTRACTIONS:
A few of the stranger answers received in a poll asking, “What unusual thing makes a woman attractive to you?” …
• “She’s conscious of the dangers of the sun.”
• “A woman who has no problem stuffing her face in front of you on a first date.”
• “A nice triceps muscle.”
• “When she’s a really good golfer.”
• “Toe rings.”
(And your secret turn-on would be …?)

MORE PROOF POLITICS STINKS:
A new Brown University study has found that people with liberal and conservative views smell differently, and are attracted to the odors of those who share their political beliefs. In experiments, people could not predict the political ideology of others by smell, but they consistently found the smell of those who aligned with them politically more attractive. If we’re subconsciously attracted to those with similar political views, it may explain why many couples vote for the same candidate. The study adds to a growing body of evidence that each of has a unique ‘body odor print’. (And in some cases, a very, very STRONG body odor print.)

100 YEARS OF GETTING UP:
If you haven’t had sex in an airplane, there’s no better time than the present. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Mile-High Club, that informal yet exclusive organization reserved for those bold souls willing to do the deed at altitude. A century ago, the invention of the autopilot freed its inventor, flyer Lawrence Burst Sperry, for other airborne ‘activities’. His invention – which used a gyroscope to stabilize the yaw, pitch, and roll of a plane – worked so well that Sperry quickly became the club’s 1st member. Two years later, in 1916, his plane crashed in the Atlantic off Long Island and though the circumstances are murky, this much is clear: Sperry’s passenger was the lovely Mrs Waldo Pierce, a sexy – and married – socialite. Both survived the accident, but neither was wearing clothes when rescued. (You do the math.)
