BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ It’s true — Chris Evans is officially off the market! The “Captain America: The First Avenger” star married Alba Baptista over the weekend. The couple said “I do” Saturday in an intimate ceremony that took place at their Boston-area home. Reportedly, guests were required to sign Non-Disclosure Agreements, and give up their phones for the occasion. 42-uear-old Evans and Baptista, who is 26, invited their closest family and friends to witness the “beautiful” ceremony. The guest list also included some of Evans’ Marvel co-stars, including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth and Jeremy Renner.

★ Shawn Levy was determined to make Hugh Jackman’s ‘Wolverine’ suit comic-accurate for “Deadpool 3”. The filmmaker and his team went through “multiple, multiple, multiple iterations and fittings” to make sure the character’s distinctive costume was recognizable from his origins. Photos from the set leaked earlier this year, showing Jackman in his yellow outfit next to Ryan Reynolds as ‘Deadpool’. Levy told EW: “I’ve waited 2 decades to see Wolverine in a whole movie with Deadpool, and I don’t know if this is our last shot at Wolverine on screen, so I was going to make (darn) sure we…get it right.” And he joked he had the right people to ensure that happened, saying: “I have access to an army of the nerdiest nerds available to a Marvel project.”

★ There is a potential new candidate to take over “The Daily Show”. It has leaned on a rotating cast of guest hosts for months since the departure of Trevor Noah, but the search for a new permanent host may be winding down. According to a report from Variety, the frontrunner for the job is comedian Hasan Minhaj – best known for hosting his own comedy talk show on Netflix called “Patriot Act”. However, another report from The Wrap indicates there may be 3 others in consideration for the job, including Kal Penn, who has served as guest host since Noah left, plus 2 others, who were not named.

★ Househunters will be screaming with delight to learn that the fictional home of ‘Laurie Strode’, played by Jamie Lee Curtis in the iconic “Halloween” franchise, is up for sale. The listing says the Pasadena CA residence, owned by the same family for nearly 3 generations, features 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, hand is listed for $1.8million. The agent wrote: “Yes, this was a filming location for the 1978 film ‘Halloween’…If you watch the film, you’ll recognize the infamous stoop that Jamie Lee Curtis sat on, holding a pumpkin.”

★ Director John Waters is set to receive the 2,763rd star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday, September 18. Waters has written and directed 16 movies including “Pink Flamingos”, “Female Trouble”, “Hairspray”, “Serial Mom” and “A Dirty Shame”. In a seperate ceremony, singer Marc Anthony will be honored this Thursday with his own star on the Walk of Fame.

★ Donny Osmond really is “Sweet and Innocent.” In a new interview, the Osmonds singer, who is 65, claims that he has never uttered a curse word in his entire life. Why? Quote: “Because I never heard my father curse. He was tough, but he never swore.” When pressed, though, Osmond admitted “There are certain people I would love to say certain words to at certain times, but I just think, ‘Be like your dad.'” And when that happens, the ‘Puppy Love’ singer said: “Obviously I still think the words!”

ANOTHER LEGO BRICK IN THE WALL:
In Florida, they’re building things — out of real-life LEGO bricks. Construction firm Renco USA says its intuitively-made building blocks that work just like LEGO bricks are really catching on in the industry. The interlocking blocks can be quickly and quietly assembled into walls, floors, and even roofs, using only a special adhesive and a rubber mallet. That’s it! No heavy cutting, welding, or masonry is needed on the job site. No cranes needed, and those installing plumbing, ventilation, or electrical work can treat the finished block walls like normal concrete. The company uses process similar to injection molding to take the blocks, made of a mineral composite, and turn them into a variety of shapes, from the standard LEGO bricks to roofbeams and joists. In Palm Springs, a $21 million, 96-unit housing complex is being built by just 11 workers.
(Making buildings out of LEGOs? I sure hope they’re wearing proper footwear!)
(Uh, are these guys sure they’re not just building a new LEGO attraction at Disney World?)

A CRAZY AMOUNT OF LAZY:
I may finally have found my true calling: Lying down and doing absolutely nothing. A “laziest citizen” contest in Montenegro has been going on for almost 4 weeks…and there are still a handful of participants in the running for the championship. Well, maybe “running” isn’t the right word to use there…but anyway: Those still involved in the contest are still happily laying about on mats, reading, scrolling on their phones, and really not doing much else. The contest was launched in the tiny country 12 years ago, as a way of mocking a popular myth that Montenegrins are a lazy bunch, according to Radonja Blagojevic, the organizer — and owner of the resort where the contest is held. At last check, the 7 remaining contestants from a starting field of 21 had been lying down for 463 hours. The winner will be awarded 1,000 euros (US$1,070). The rules stipulate that standing or sitting are grounds for immediate disqualification, but contestants are allowed 10 minutes every 8 hours to go to the washroom. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/y46v2fd5
(…where they generally – you guessed it – sit down!)
(Because of COURSE a “laziest citizen” contest is held at a resort…)

WHAT THE HALLOWEEN?
Soda pop maker Fanta is teasing its new, seasonal creepy mystery flavor — and it’ll turn your tongue black. On its website, Fanta wrote: “[We’ve] got a spooky new mystery flavor that’s hauntingly delicious. But be warned, your tastebuds are in for a fright. So, sip if you dare and look in the mirror if you’re in for a scary surprise.” Here’s what we know so far: The tongue-transforming zero-sugar drink comes in a 20-ounce bottle decked out with Halloween imagery such as a hulking spider and a flying bat. It is the latest novelty in the soda brand’s “What The Fanta (WTF)?” campaign. Launched by parent company Coca-Cola in 2022, WTF offers limited-edition mystery flavors meant to “fool senses and challenge tastebuds.” The company is asking soda drinkers to have a taste and see if they can figure out the flavor of the frightful drink. Guesses can be shared on social media under the hashtag #WhatTheFanta. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/yy5v8tsx
(I don’t know what flavor it might be, but it’s the first time I’ve ever heard of “Trick AND treat”!)
(Nice to have a soda that turns your tongue black – instead of your teeth!)

DID YOU KNOW?
Four in 10 pet parents say they’d take a lower salary to work from home and be with their pets, according to a new survey. On average, pet parents begin to miss their furry friends just 37 minutes after being apart, and throughout the day, pets enter their owners’ thoughts about 13 times. 44% of the 2,000 people surveyed said they get worried about their pets experiencing separation anxiety. And 31% use pet cameras to keep an eye on their pets’ activities. (Actually, I think I know who is experiencing separation anxiety – and it’s not the pets!)
